So a short update after a while (sorry about that). Thanks to everyone whose favorited and commented on this story. It's honestly what keeps me writing it.
Disclaimer: I do not own Winx Club or the Harry Potter series, those rights belong to Iginio Straffi, Rainbow S.r.l., Nickelodeon and J.K. Rowling respectively.
"So any other 'creatures' in or around the castle we should know about?" Stella asks as everyone minus the wizards and Luna are sitting at one of the many large tables in the Great Hall. They'd just finished breakfast and decided to chat a bit.
"Hmm well I don't know what kinds of beings live in your dimension and whether or not they're similar, but pretty much every creature in human myth exists, they just don't know that." Harry says.
"Whoa! Really!?" Bloom asks. "All this time I've dreamed of myths and fairy tales and they were right in front of me!"
"Yup, though I wouldn't call them fairy tales." Ron says, munching on some bacon.
"Why not?" Roxy asks curiously.
"Well most fairy tales have happy endings. Come into contact with just about any creature on Earth and you may wind up dead." Hermione says, causing everyone but the wizards and witch to flinch.
"We have creatures like that in Magix, but not all of them are deadly." Musa says.
"Oh don't misunderstand. I'm not saying all creatures on Earth are dangerous, it's just in certain circumstances they can be. For instance, if you do something to one of their kind they take it as a personal attack on all of them."
"That makes sense. So what kind of creatures live on Earth?" Tecna asks.
"All sorts you see in movies and read about in books. Unicorns, werewolves, vampires, centaurs, ogres, goblins, dragons, I could go on all day. Luna has actually found several more unknown creatures in her adventures."
"Amazing! Have you ever met any of these beings?" Timmy asks.
"We've all met goblins since they're the ones who run wizard banks. Not so friendly but not so dangerous either. We've also all seen dragons since one of Ron's older brothers works with them in Romania." Neville says.
"Wow, your brother works with dragons? That's so awesome!" Riven exclaims, turning to Ron. He loves training with the ones back at Red Fountain.
"Yeah, but I don't envy him. Dragons on Earth are very dangerous. In fact, they're used to guard vaults in our banks." Ron says.
"Goblins are very protective of people's money and upholding the standards of their banks." Harry adds, trying not to laugh at the wide eyes of the Winx and Specialists.
"Okay...but isn't that a bit much?" Aisha asks.
"Not to them or any wizards and witches."
"Alright...well then have you seen any of those other creatures you mentioned?" Flora asks, changing the subject. She likes peace, not violence.
"I've seen a unicorn, vampire and centaur." Harry throws in, catching on to Flora's idea.
"Were they dangerous?" Brandon asks.
"Depends on their personalities. The unicorn I saw was dead and that's a big no-no in the Wizarding World. Unicorns are sacred as is their blood and to kill one can curse you. I won't go into details about why anyone would want to kill a unicorn though. Much too gruesome. Anyway, as for the vampire, Luna and I met him at a party a Professor had invited me to. Not much of a talker, but he and Luna actually got along pretty well. The werewolf on the other hand, I know them well because one of my godfathers was a werewolf." Harry says.
"Wait, what!?"
"Hold on, you had a godfather who was a werewolf?"
"Aren't werewolves dangerous though? At least from what I've seen in the media..."
"Humans' portrayal of them isn't quite accurate, but you're right. They are dangerous, but only during a full moon. However, that's what the Wolfsbane potion was created for. It keeps werewolves in control of their human side during full moons."
Harry really didn't want to discuss anything more about werewolves because it all just reminded him of Remus. Thankfully his savior in the form of Luna came through the doors of the Great Hall, striding with great purpose.
Harry's pleased smile dropped at the serious look on her face while those who didn't know anything besides her dreamy look stared in shock.
Harry stood up right as Luna made it to his side.
"What did you see?" Ron, Hermione and Neville looked at her anxiously. The only time Luna had such a serious look on her face was because she'd seen something awful or unsettling.
"See? What's going on? What're you talking about?" Sky asks, but is ignored.
"I already told the wizards. I had a vision that Duman's illness isn't being caused by himself, but by someone after revenge."
"Pfft. Who isn't after revenge on them." Stella mutters. Flora nudges her in the ribs.
Still Harry & Co. have their attention focused on Luna.
"Could you see who it was?" Hermione asks.
"No. Just that the person has a lot of light in them but has recently been going down a dark path. They know the wizards somehow."
Neville wraps an arm around his girlfriend.
"From what we know, the wizards have many enemies. It could literally be anybody!" Harry shouts in frustration.
"Mate, calm down. I'm sure we can find the culprit with our magic." Ron says, patting Harry on the back.
"Still...it could take valuable time searching that Duman doesn't have if we're not by his side to continue healing him."
"That's why only Harry should help in the search." Hermione reasons. "He's the most powerful of us and knows the wizards better."
Harry looks shocked. "You're actually gonna let me go on an adventure alone?"
"You won't be alone. You've got the wizards, Winx and Specialists to help." Luna says.
"Uh...when did we volunteer for that?" Riven asks. Musa elbows him.
"Ow! I was just saying. Should we really be helping our enemies like this?"
"Riven! How could you say such a thing? They surrendered and came to us for help. Even if it's a trap, we always manage to win and if it's not we'd be guilty of not helping someone in need, which is what we are trained for." Helia admonishes. Surprisingly enough Riven looks down, ashamed, and mutters a quiet sorry.
"Good. Now that we have that settled, we're gonna need a plan." Tecna says. "I suggest we move to the medical wing to let the wizards in on it."
The wizards and Madame Pomfrey, who had just arrived and been briefed on the situation, look up as everyone files into the room.
"I'm guessing by the grim looks on your faces Luna informed you of the current situation." Madame Pomfrey states.
"Yes, and that's actually something I've been wondering since she told us. How exactly does she know all of this?" Stella asks, looking suspicious.
Every head in the room turns towards Luna.
"You don't have to say if you don't want to Luna." Harry says.
"But it would be helpful." Stella counters. Harry shoots her a menacing glare causing Stella to shrink into Brandon. Brandon doesn't look too happy at someone threatening his girlfriend, but he can understand this is a personal matter.
"It's okay Harry. As I told the wizards, I know no one in this room will tell my secret."
"What secret?" Aisha asks.
"Some wizards are born with special abilities and any wizard who works hard enough and has the talent can learn an ability. Fortunately or unfortunately for me, I was born with the rare gift of sight. An ability that many would kill, literally, to get their hands on."
"Sight? You mean like super-eyes or something?" Riven asks. Musa sighs, not even bothering to wack him on the back of the head.
Harry laughs. "No, though that would be cool. What Luna means is she can see into the future, so the information she just gave us is from a vision she had."
"Oh, wow that must be useful and hard to control." Roxy says sympathetically. She's still getting the hang of her power over animals and it's not easy. Mental powers usually aren't.
"Sometimes it is. It can even drive some seers crazy." Luna admits.
"..." No one knows what to say to that, not even Harry and friends who've known the possibility of that occurring since they met Luna and were told her secret.
"Umm...so enough heavy talk. Why don't we draw up a plan?" Flora says, ever the one to try and cheer people up.
"Right. First, I think Harry should be the leader since he's a natural and Luna should tag along in case she see's anything else that's helpful. Second, it would probably be best to gather information. Timmy and Tecna could help me with that. Lastly, everyone else should keep an eye on Duman until we have a suspect and location." Hermione says. Everyone stares at her in disbelief.
"Really Hermione? I guess they don't call you the smartest witch of her age for nothing." Harry says in amusement.
"She probably had that all planned out on the walk here." Ron snorts.
Hermione glares at the two. "Well someone has to be the brains here and I can't rely on you two numbskulls to think ahead. Especially Harry!"
"I would be insulted but that's true."
"Alright, Now that we're clear on the plan, Timmy, Tecna, come with me. We have work to do."
Hermione strides out of the room, Timmy and Tecna at her heels.
Anagan lets out a low whistle. "I knew she was smart but I've never seen this controlling side of her. Is she always like this?"
"You've no idea." Ron and Harry say at the same time.
I know I always apologize for the short chapters and promise longer ones, but I'm just going to straight up say it: I suck at writing long chapters so mine will be short.
Anyway, in the next chapter Hermione, Tecna and Timmy come across some surprising information while Ogron and Harry finally have a decent chat.
