YOU'RE WHAT!
Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.

"Damn, Charlie, are you sure? Will all I can say is to be careful while you're on your way here. We'll get together somewhere private once you arrive. I should have Alice and Rosalie present as well since they're in charge of the witnesses and this case."
"Do that. See you soon." And, with that said both men hung up.
CHAPTER 29: WE NEED TIME TO TALK
The whole time that Sam was on the lookout for Charlie's appearance, he kept wondering what it was that Charlie had discovered, or, rather, who Charlie had discovered, as to being the mole and the leak concerning the witnesses. He also was hopeful that the information his friend had come across would be enough, combined with the testimony from the three witnesses, to finally bring down the Volturi family. That was one arrest that Sam wanted to be involved in making. And, it was without a doubt in his mind that Sam knew his partner, Felix Maxwell, would want to be just as involved when the moment arrived.
His next problem, well, not really a problem, but, question really, was how to bring all of this information up to Alice and Rosalie without involving the witnesses or Edward's parents. He still didn't know why, all of a sudden, the senior Cullen's decided now was the time to show up and possibly become entangled with the current situation.
It seemed to Sam too much was beginning to happen too soon. He needed to give Felix a call and have him come to the hospital to help cover all of the information that was about to be given to them. So, as soon as that thought came to completion, Sam followed through with the call to Felix.

Charlie breezed through getting rid of his, no longer needed, disguise and assuming his normal clothing. He was anxious to get to the hospital to check on Bella's condition for himself. All he had, at the moment, was someone else's word for everything. He felt confident in the choice he had made earlier about allowing Edward being able to handle making decisions considering his daughter's treatment, however, it wasn't the same as being there himself keeping an eye on her.
He knew, sometimes, decisions had to be made based on other considerations that had nothing to do with the emotions. That was what had motivated Charlie to make the decisions he had to let Edward and Sam deal with Bella's medical decisions until he was able to arrive and take over.
'Now isn't the time to dwell on the why's of his immediate past choices, but, to move forward to deal with what will be coming.' Charlie thought to himself as he was making his way out the door. The cab he had called for was impatiently blowing his horn for his passenger to get the hell to moving. It was like Charlie was being told that time was money to some people.
Charlie got into the cab and gave his destination information to the driver. However, the unknown and the unforeseen were only days away from happening that would bring about drastic changes to the lives of many of the individuals involved in this particular situation.

Felix arrived at the hospital just minutes ahead of Charlie and was quick to ask to be brought completely up to date about everything. Sam didn't hesitate to fill him in and Felix didn't hold anything back concerning his quiet investigation in trying to find the mole.
"There's a lot of little things that are starting to be found, but, nothing absolute to be able to pin anything on any definite person." He told Sam while reaching up to rub his hand around the back of his head and neck. This was a habit that Felix had when he was trying to put all of the pieces into their proper places.
Sam knew, from the little that Charlie had told him and with the information that Felix had revealed, that the case was about to break wide open. The results were going to be startling for everyone involved. Every time Sam got this gut feeling he now had, he knew that they were onto something. A time or two in the beginning of his career he had ignored this instinctive feeling and nearly had his ass handed to him both times. It was from that point on that Sam never ignored it again because he was very fond of his ass and still had a lot of living he wanted to do.
Felix was ready to relay all of his findings to Alice and Rosalie, but, Sam convinced him to wait until Charlie arrived. That way the two would only be pulled aside once instead of several times. Too many times and it would draw undue attention to all of them. And, with that in mind, Felix agreed.

The cab driver got Charlie to the hospital in record time and was tipped handsomely for doing so. However, as Charlie was about to walk away the driver called him back to say, "Thanks for the tip. Here's my card with my cell number. Give me a call and I'll be happy to assist you for wherever you need to go." Charlie took the guy's card and thanked him for the offer, but, never suspecting that the driver might have an ulterior motive.
Stepping back from the vehicle, Charlie watched the cab drive away until it had vanished from sight. Once again, he made his way to and into the hospital, located the elevators and went up to the floor where Bella was being kept. As he stepped from the elevator he paused to look around as if to get his bearings and happened to see both Sam and Felix standing at the far end of the hallway. And, as he made the move towards them both men happened to look up and noticed Charlie's arrival and his approach towards them. They also made a move as one to go meet Charlie.
As all three men met halfway, Sam looked around to try to locate a more private place where they could talk freely. Charlie noticed how Sam was looking around and guessed the purpose and decided that it was time to halt that movement for now. "Sam, I'm going to put my daughter first for the moment. Once I've spent some time with her and reassured myself that all is well with her then we'll talk. NOT before then."
"Of course, Charlie, we understand your worry and concern. I was only looking for a place where all of us could talk. We're going to need such a place to be able to bring Alice and Rosalie up to date about all the facts that's been discovered. Then AGA Black is going to have to be updated as well." Sam commented while he was still trying to locate an area that would give privacy for the type of discussion they were going to be conducting in the near future.
"Charlie, I really do hope that Bella is doing well. And, I totally understand why she and her team are considered the best of the best. They are fully committed to the job and hold back on nothing to see it through to the end."
"Thanks, Felix. And, Sam, just give me some time, as I said with Bella, then I'll give you all of the facts that I've discovered. And, I can assure you that I know who the mole is and how the information is being leaked to the Volturi brothers." That last statement of Charlie's got the full attention of both men.

While Charlie was inside the hospital talking with Sam and Felix, across town a phone call was proving to be very interesting to another man. He was listening to what the caller had to say, "Yeah, boss, I think that we have a lead as to who the Fed had been talking with."
"You're sure about your information?"
"Very sure. The description that the hotel guy had given matches this guy. Then add the fact that this man was picked up by me, no less, from the address of the girlfriend that had been snatched. It kinda adds up don't you think?"
"I sure do. Find a way to keep an eye on this guy without giving yourself away."
"Oh, that won't be a problem. I gave the mark my business card and told him to call me any time he needed a cab. I did that after he had given me such a good tip, so, it appeared very innocent like."
"Good job; keep me posted."

After Charlie had finished talking with Sam and Felix he made his way down to the waiting room where he had been told everyone else was. Stopping just long enough to let everyone know that he had arrived, Charlie saw the older couple that was easy to identify as Edward's parents. Sam had already made him aware of their presence, so, seeing them in the waiting room came as no surprise to him.
Alice and Rosalie rushed over to him and all three engulfed each other in hugs of love and relief. A deep abiding love developed over years of acquaintanceship and relief for the fact that they all were together once more. True, one of them was in another room recovering from extreme abuse, but, they were all alive.
Edward, Emmett and Jasper were next to greet Charlie as each younger man didn't hesitate to gather him close into a manly hug. After the greetings, Edward told Charlie that he wanted to introduce his parents. So, the older man took the time for the polite meet and greet of Edward's parents.
Then Charlie began moving towards the door once more and said once he reached it, "Now, I'm going to go spend some time with Bella. I want to reassure myself that she's recovering and to have a few moments to speak with her doctors. Edward, would you see if you can get that arranged for me while I'm here? And, son, thank you for taking good care of my girl until I could return."
"Yes, sir, I'll be happy to do it. And, Charlie, I was happy to do it. I love that woman." Edward quickly answered.
Then Charlie looked at Alice and Rosalie before stepping forward to hug each of them before leaving the room. He quietly whispered in each woman's ear, "We need to talk so I can bring all of you up to date on what I've found out concerning your departmental leak." Each one nodded and then stepped away to allow Charlie to go see Bella. However, as he took a step out into the hallway, Rosalie stepped out also and quietly asked, "Charlie, is this something that we need to let the guys know about?"
"Yeah, once we've managed to get all of the pieces laid out, so we can see where things are heading. By the way, why has Edward's parents arrived all of a sudden?"
"We're not sure, but, they have quietly told Edward that they've noticed something strange going on around their home. Then they had heard about Bella being hurt so they came here to give them both moral support."
"Okay. Why don't you have Edward get more information, on the quiet side, mind you, as to what his parent meant by 'strange'? Once we have that information, then we might have more puzzle pieces to put into place along with what I know and what Felix has discovered. That just might give the AG's office all of the evidence they need to bring this whole mess to a conclusion."
Then with that said, Charlie finally made it across the hall into Bella's room. He noticed that she appeared to be sleeping, so, he moved very quietly to the side of her bed and took the seat that was already positioned beside her. Reaching out he took her hand into his, brought it to his lips as the tears quietly began to fall. Tears due to the heartfelt pain of seeing his baby in such condition. But, also, tears of pride because she had stood her ground and did her job to protect her charge from harm.
It's not easy to see your daughter following in your footsteps, knowing of all the evil she would encounter and the harm that could befall her; harm that could even lead to her own death. No! It wasn't easy at all.
Then, as Charlie got himself under control once more, the door opened and in walked Bella's doctor. He introduced himself and proceeded to tell Charlie all of what was wrong with Bella and what treatment she was receiving. "Rest assured, Mr. Swan, that we are taking good care of her by letting her rest at the moment to give the body comfort, so it can peacefully, without too much pain, to begin to heal.
"There has been no long range damaged done and she should be able to return home in a few days and back to work in a few more."
Charlie thanked the man and resumed his silent position beside Bella's bed. He sat and silently watched over her as he allowed his mind to wander back into the past as he had watched his little girl grow into womanhood.
AN: Charlie has arrived at the hospital, spoken with Bella's doctor and has been assured that there isn't anything seriously wrong with Bella. Edward is going to find out what caused his parents to show up suddenly. And, plans have been put into place for all information to be revealed in a very short period of time.
