YOU'RE WHAT!
Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.
The awesome and talented dowlingnana searched out my errors and corrected them.
The note did say:
"This is just a warning that we're able to get to you or anyone associated with you if you don't keep your mouth shut."
CHAPTER 32: STAGE 3: MORE INFORMATION REVEALED
After reading the note, it was hard to contain Charlie since he was struggling so strongly to get loose and to get a hold of the man once again that had been leaning over Bella as he entered the room. Both Sam and Felix looked at each other while trying to decide about just letting Charlie have his way with the guy, however, Rosalie walked over to Charlie and laid her hand gently alongside his cheek and spoke quietly.
"Charlie, you know that you have to let the law handle this. You've spent your whole life upholding the law. We can't let you break it now. That would go against everything that you believe and all that you've taught Bella and us. You and I both know that you wouldn't be able to live with yourself if you ignored the law now."
While she was quietly speaking, Charlie did calm down and quit struggling to get loose. He finally nodded once and relaxed, but still maintained his glaring at the stranger. After giving a final shrugging of his shoulders both Sam and Felix felt Charlie relax, they then released him completely. However, they did stay close in case they might be needed again.
Since Alice had taken charge of the stranger to keep him from getting away. The three other law enforcement agents were standing in front of the door, so, if there had been a move for escape it would have been prevented. The man had nowhere to go, so, he silently stayed where he was being held.
The nurse had returned with items to treat the man for the injuries Charlie's punches had inflicted, and she administered to him without a word, but she did keep looking over at Bella to make sure that Bella wasn't being disturbed by all of the noise and commotion that was taking place in her room.
After straightening up his clothing, Charlie slowly walked over to the man that was quietly waiting for the nurse to finish her ministrations but was keeping a constant watch over everyone else's reactions to his presence. Charlie paused for only a heartbeat before speaking, "I know who you work for, I know what you've done recently concerning the death of a very old friend of mine. However, I don't know your name." Once more Charlie went silent just watching the stranger's reaction to what he had said thus far. And, when there was nothing said, Charlie continued, "Of course, you don't really need to tell who you are since that will be discovered once you're down at headquarters and have been fingerprinted.
"I would advise you to tell us now everything you know about your employers. That might possibly buy you a lighter sentence in the long run."
Even with what Charlie had just said the stranger still stayed silent. He looked around the room taking in the fact that everyone, but five people were, more than likely due to the way they were acting, law enforcement people. The man wasn't sure which agencies, but he was sure that some were FBI.
All this time AGA Black had pretty much remained quiet, that is until now. He looked around at everyone and then stepped forward to tell the stranger, "If you're willing to tell me everything you know about your boss, and will testify against him, I would be willing to cut you a deal."
That caught the man's attention like nothing else had. Even though, he was still remaining silent, he was quickly turning all of the possibilities over in his mind. This might be a way to get away from the mess that he had been forced into and to save his sister, to get her out from under the continued threat of being sold off. Due to his forced employment with the Volturi, he knew that his fourteen year old sister, as beautiful and pure as she is, would bring a high market value.
True, he knew that with the things he had been forced to do would definitely bring him some prison time, but the big question was how he would survive in that place after turning against the Volturi brothers. Their reach was far and wide. But the main thing would be to bargain to save his sister before he would tell them anything; they would have to get her out of the Volturi's hold. So, at this point, he felt that he had a way to save her and himself as well, but if not himself, at least he would be able to get her to safety.
While he was considering the offer, he was wondering which agency would be the right one to talk with. Which one could offer him a real deal that would bring immediate protection to his sister? So, he was quietly glancing around the room from one group to another, even to the point of looking more closely to the man standing in front of him; the one that had made the offer of cutting a deal.
Somehow, that one lone man just didn't strike confidence in him. The man seemed to be incompetent for some reason. However, the women or even the two silent men that had pulled the older guy off of him inspired possibilities of giving him the help that he needed. All he had to do would be to decide who he should talk to.
However, he wasn't comfortable saying a word with the nurse and some of the other people in the room. After looking around the room one more time, he finally spoke, "I've got nothing to say."
"Very well." Alice responded and turned to motion Sam towards the man, "Sam, take him down to the office. See about identifying him and lock him up but keep his name and arrest private for now. We'll be down a little later." And, with Alice giving those orders it confirmed to the man the identity of the person that was in charge of things.
Charlie spoke up to say that he would go with Sam and Felix, but Rosalie was quick to veto that move. "Charlie, I really think that you should stay here with Bella. We'll handle everything else." Charlie looked from Rosalie to Alice before giving an affirmative nod of his head. And with that he walked over to Bella's bed and took a seat as he reached to take his unconscious daughter's hand. "Rosalie, Alice, keep me in the loop as to what is going on. And, just to let you know, I'm not fooled as to why you want me to stay here. It's so Bella is guarded by one of us and that she isn't left alone. I'll take care of my baby girl; don't worry about her and see about taking care of the guys." Charlie finished speaking and turned back to look at Bella.
Alice was quick to tell Edward that it was time his parents were brought up to date as to what was going on and for some decisions to be made about what might be needed to keep them safe.
"Ms. Brandon, we've been safe, as you put it, but what the hell is going on here?" Carlisle stated and finished by asking for some sort of explanation. Then he turned to Edward and asked, "Son, what is going on? What have you done?"
However, Rosalie answered, not giving Edward enough time to do so for himself, "Dr. Cullen, now isn't the exact time to go into all of the details. And, if you'll give everyone some time everything will be explained; just not at this moment."
But it took Esme laying a quiet, gentle hand upon her husband's arm to get him to reserve any further comments. She told him, "Carlisle, I'm sure a satisfactory explanation is available. And, it won't hurt to allow these people the time requested. All things will be answered in no time, I'm sure." She finished with a smile directed towards everyone present.
It didn't take long for the guy to be removed from Bella's room and be on his way down to the Marshall's office for processing into custody. Or, for Bella's room to be cleared of everyone else except for Charlie and the unconscious patient. For Alice and Rosalie to direct the guys and the older Cullen's to leave the hospital and to go back to Bella's so there would be more privacy to be able to explain everything to Edward's parents.

"Do you trust him to do as he's told, or, do we need to reinforce the leverage we control over him?"
"No, brother, I don't think that we have anything to worry about. His orders were very clear, and he hasn't disappointed us as yet. Everything we've demanded of him has been carried out without question, or, hesitation, and without leaving any clues behind leading back to us."
"But why haven't we heard back from him? He has had enough time to get the job done and report back to us."
"I told him to get lost for a while just in case he was seen, and someone might remember him being there. Don't worry so much. He knows what the consequences will be by failing or talking to anyone. He's not going to risk his sister."
"I don't know why we still hang on to her when she could bring us a pretty penny?"
"True, brother, so true, but it gives us the necessary hold over a particular person. I mean, after all, he and the girl are related to the police commissioner."
"I understand what you're saying, Aro, however, you still haven't answered my question as to why we're still hanging on to the little bitch." Caius returned to his question since he was unsatisfied with what his brother was telling him.
"Why is it so important to you? What is it you're up to, or, rather, is it what are you wanting?"
"Well, she is a pretty young thing and no one has touched her to teach her about the delights of serving the male needs of the body. Know what I mean?"
"I know what you think is going to happen, but understand me well, Caius, your plans will never happen. I have plans for that young lady which in the long run could be more useful to all of us.
"The only thing that is keeping us from moving forward with some of our more profitable plans is the threat that's hanging over us at the moment.
"Those three young men that seems to be of a threat to us need to be taken care of first. We've tried to find out what all they know and how much of a true threat they are, but our efforts seem to keep being nonproductive.
"Even our resources through the police and at the Attorney General's office seem to not be able to supply all of the information that we are needing. All that anyone can tell us is that the three saw us in some kind of illegal action.
"Even, when we tried to grab one of them and his girlfriend got in the way, we thought that we could get some information from her. We all know how that worked out. She got loose even though we had whipped her to soften her up."
"You both know that all of this is really fucked up shit!" Marcus added as he came into the room and overheard the last bit of what Aro was saying. "I have an idea of what you are planning to do with the little miss, but I'm telling you now that it won't work. Besides, I won't allow it.
"That child is too innocent to drag her into this lifestyle. You would end up killing her before the year was over with your cruelty." And, with that said Marcus left the room, Aro and Caius looked at each other. Both were having thoughts of what the other was wanting to do to the little gal. But finally each went to take care of some business that needed their attention.

To say that Carlisle and Esme Cullen were shocked would be an understatement. They had no idea about what had been going on all this time in their son's life and that of his two close friends.
It was all carefully explained to them and then it was explained how a job became more for each of the couples. That each of the agents were interested personally in having a relationship with the guys beyond this assignment, and that the emotions on both sides ran deep.
"But be assured that this whole time we've had the guys in protective custody, we've had agents keeping a close watch over their families to make sure no harm came to anyone."
"Then are you two telling us that Ms. Swan was injured in the line of duty?" Carlisle asked in a shaky voice that was reflecting a lot of fear.
"She was injured in the line of duty protecting Edward. Both she and Edward care for one another the same as I care for Emmett and Alice cares for Jasper." Rosalie answered in complete honesty.
"You see, Dr. and Mrs. Cullen, we won't allow our personal feelings to get in the way of us doing our jobs." Alice answered as she looked Edward's parents directly in the eyes before looking over at each of the guys.
"Bella shoved me out of the way when shots were fired, and a car pulled up quickly to grab me. Instead, she put herself in the line of attack and was abducted in my place." Edward told his parents. Then he continued, "That is why she is in the hospital in my place." Edward concluded a bit emotionally.
"Dr. and Mrs. Cullen, hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer before we can get these three into court and all of this will come to an end." Alice told them.
With that being said, no one said another word. They don't know what else to say.
AN: The story moves forward. The guy disguised as a male nurse is caught and we find out why he's doing what he's doing. Edward explains to his parents what is happening and why Bella is in the hospital. Will the stranger talk and tell all that he knows about the Volturi? Will the stranger decide to stay quiet and just endure? What plans does Aro have for the stranger's sister? What is it that Caius is wanting to do? Will Marcus really stop either of his brothers from abusing the child?
Hope you will enjoy this story and will let me know your thoughts, ideas and comments as we move forwards.
