Unknowing to Lucas, Jacob was in the middle of the duel with an obnoxious, golden-eyed stranger.

"I set one card and end my turn," shouted Jacob.

"During your end phase," Jellal responded, "I activate the effect of The First Sarcophagus. Now, not only am I allowed to activate The Third Sarcophagus, I can send all three of my Sarcophagus to the graveyard in order to summon the Spirit of the Pharaoh!" The intimidating, pharaoh-like creature appeared from The First Sarcophagus, and raised his hand; 2 Pharaoh's Servants as well as 2 Skull Servants arose from the ground beneath. "I draw my card and I activate Harpie's Feather Duster to destroy all of your Face-Down cards."

Well there goes my Traps, Jacob thought to himself as he raised his arms protecting his view from the variety of shards that flew from the destruction of his set cards.

"Prepare to face defeat, human," Jellal pointed towards Jacob as he sent his monsters to destroy Jacob's defensive Emissary of the Afterlife

"On destruction," Jacob responded, "I can use Emissary of the Afterlife's effect, allowing the both of us to add 1 level 3 or lower Normal Monster from our decks to our hands." Jellal revealed a copy of the Pharaoh's Servant; Jacob revealed the Left Leg of the Forbidden One.

"That makes four," Jellal shouted, "But you will not have an opportunity to summon the Forbidden One. Now, my Normal Monsters, tackle him with an onslaught of attacks."

"Gah!" (Jacob 1600) Jacob dropped to his knees. Jacob could not believe what he was seeing.

Jellal began to burst with an immense amount of Duel Energy. This amount of energy must have been greater than what he had when he first dueled Lucas in the warehouse.

"All this energy is thanks to your friend, human," Jellal bragged, "My energy increases the pain we get from any damage we receive due to the Barrier of Ma'at. Even if you survive my attacks, you will not survive this duel."

Was this what Lucas felt? Jacob asked himself, I didn't think it would hurt this bad. But still, Jacob looked at the four pieces of Exodia he had in his hand, with the addition of a spell card. Just one more.

The doors of the game shop behind Jacob opened, and out came Lucas yelling out Jacob's name. Reikou followed after.

(Round 5: Lucas 5000 Reikou 4000)

"I draw," Lucas picked up his card and played it immediately. "I activate Change of Heart. This card allows me to take control of one of your monsters for the turn. I take control of your Puppet Queen." Reikou passed the Queen to Lucas, their fingertips touched, causing both of them to blush for a moment. They both quickly retrieved their hands; Lucas placed the Queen onto his field. He then placed the Queen into Reikou's graveyard. "I will now tribute your Queen in order to summon Berfomet. When Berfomet is Normal Summoned, I can add one copy of Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts from my deck to my hand."

"There is not any set cards for me to destroy with Puppet Rook's effect." Reikou looked at her Rook on the table, then back at Lucas's field.

"I attack your Rook with Berfomet."

Reikou pointed at Lucas, "Since you declared an attack, you must send the top five cards from the top of your deck to the Graveyard."

Lucas place his cards from his deck to the graveyard. At this moment, Lucas began to notice the Duel Energy emitting from his own, as well as the Duel Energy emitting from Reikou. His Scarlet eyes were reacting to a strong source of energy emitting from outside the shop

Lucas! Jellal is here. Jackal told Lucas.

I know! But I can't just leave Reikou here, Lucas stated to himself.

"I activate Rope of Life," Reikou stated, Lucas had his attention back on the duel. "Now I Special Summon one monster that was destroyed, it gains 800 ATK. However, I must discard my entire hand. I summon my Puppet Rook from the Graveyard."

"I set one card Face-Down. I end my turn."

(Round 6: Lucas 5000 Reikou 3600)

"Draw," Reikou placed the card she just drew. "I activate Upstart Goblin. You gain 1000 Life Points and I am allowed to draw one card." She drew another card from her deck. "I end my turn."

(Round 7: Lucas 6000 Reikou 3600)

"I draw."

"Lucas, are you alright?" Reikou asked in concern.

"Y-yeah I am. Why do you ask?" Lucas responded.

"You seem a bit more tense. You seem worried. Did I make a wrong move?"

"Oh, no. You're doing great. I am just-" Lucas froze as he felt a burst of energy from outside. Not only that, he could see streaks of energy flowing in front of his Scarlet eyes. Reikou noticed this energy too. Lucas's gift was not needed in order to see how incredibly fierce this energy was. They turned their heads over to the window to see a thick, white veil. The veil was not to thick to see what was happening beyond it. Lucas could see Jacob facing a Hologram projection of what seems to be the Duel Monster, Spirit of the Pharaoh. Lucas quickly apologized to Reikou and ran out the door of the shop. Reikou had followed after. They came out to see an injured Jacob on his knees as he is looking at the cards in his hand.

"Jacob!"

Jacob turned his head to face Lucas. Lucas noticed how his best friend seemed beaten to a pulp by the familiar Egyptian duelist, noticing how much stronger his Duel Energy has gotten from their previous duel.

"Welcome, Red-Eyes," Jellal shouted, "You are about to witness the defeat of your friend who decided to meddle with those who are superior to him."

Lucas gritted his teeth looked at Jellal. With a furious flame of anger in his eyes, Lucas turned to grab his Duel Disk from the table. Jacob shouted,

"Don't you even think about it, Red!" Lucas stopped at the door and turned to look at Jacob. "I don't want you to miss when I pulverise this creep."

"But Jacob," Lucas stopped mid-sentence and remembered that Reikou was standing next to him. He faced Reikou, "I'm sorry. But we're gonna have to continue our duel another time. I know this looks bad but this is not what Duel Monsters are all about" Reikou looked into Lucas's eyes, then she turned to look at Jacob, and looked back.

"Please be careful." Reikou said with concern in her voice.

"I will. And I will call you later." Reikou nodded and began walking quickly from the shop as an intense duel between Jacob and Jellal continued. "Jacob!" Lucas turned to look at Jacob who was trying to get back on his feet from the last Zombie attack. "Do you think you can take him down?"

"Just watch," Jacob placed his fingers on his deck, with a grin on his face, his Duel Energy began to grow higher than it ever did before. You no longer needed Lucas's gift to notice this expansion of energy. "I draw!" with a sweep, he immediately played the monster onto the field. "I summon, the Deep Sea Diver," A scuba diver appeared onto the playing field.

"You summoned a monster in Attack Mode?" Jellal burst into laughter, "Might as well since you will lose in the next turn."

"I wouldn't count on it," Jacob grinned and that grinned swept away with a shout, "Deep Sea Diver! Attack the Spirit of the Pharaoh!" Lucas and Jellal's eyes widened. The Diver attempted to throw a fist at the mighty Spirit, who then dodged and with one clean swipe, shattered the image of Jacob's monster, causing an aftershock of damage onto Jacob, "ARGH!"(100). Jacob struggled to stay on his feet.

"You fool. Why would you do that? Have you gone mad?!" Jellal shouted.

"D-deep Sea Diver's effect activates!" Jacob is breathing heavily at this point. "This allows me to add one Level 3 or lower monster from my deck onto the top of my deck. And the card I choose is, Exodia, The Forbidden One!"

"But you won't be able to draw it until your next turn! What makes you think I will give you that chance?!" Jellal shouted in anger at Jacob's "stupidity". Without realising it, Jacob's Energy rosed upto Jellal's energy level.

"Who said anything about you having another turn?" Jacob began his Main Phase 2. "From my hand, I activate, Graceful Charity."

"You got it, Jacob!" Lucas shouted, as Jellal grunted in shock. Jacob's energy continued to grow.

"Now," Jacob shouted

"No!"

"I am allowed to draw three new cards from my deck,"

"No! No! No!"

"As long as I discard two from hand," Jacob's Energy grew to an even greater height; higher than Jellal's. Lucas, Jackal, and Yubel all looked at Jacob in awe. "I discard the Pot of Greed and Pot of Avarice. It's not like I'm gonna need them." Jellal gritted his teeth, practically chipping them. "Now! When I have assembled all five pieces of Exodia," Jacob placed each piece onto an appropriate zone on his Duel Disk, at this moment, a symbol that strikingly resembles the Spellbinding Circle card appeared from behind Jacob. Soon after, an arm appeared on the left side of the symbol, then the right, then a leg on the left, and one more leg on the right, and Finally, a head appeared from the center.

"I win the duel!" Jellal eyes widened, quivering in fear at the sight of this mighty creature. Exodia raised his hands together and began to absorb the energy that emitted from Jacob into a ball of light. "Now Exodia! Obliterate!" Exodia launched the ball into a beam at Jellal's general direction.

"No! Not again! ARGH!" With a blink of an eye, Jellal's Life Points had reached Zero.

The Barrier of Ma'at had dispersed, Jellal fell onto his knees, breathing heavily at the impact he had taken. "This can't be! I lost not only once, but TWICE now?!"

"Maybe next time you'll think twice before hurting my friend." Jacob was about to fall face first when suddenly Lucas reached out and caught Jacob before he could fall. "Sorry, Red. I didn't think it'd be this exhausting."

"It looks like you're taking it better than me." Lucas stated, as Jacob looked at him. Jacob's eyes widened and then blinked for a moment. He thought he must have been going crazy, because he thought that he was seeing Jackal and Yubel hovering over Lucas's head. Afterwards, a strong, intimidating voice shouted, "Jellal!"

Everyone turned to look at who it was shouting Jellal's name. Two strangers walked over to where the three individuals were, two of which seriously injured. Jellal froze in fear as he realised who was walking towards them.

"M-my gods! I was just-"

"When we tell you to not interfere, we expect you to follow said orders!" the furious man shouted, "And now here you are! Disobeying our words!"

"We assumed you would be better than this, Jellal," the woman continued, "But it appears to me that maybe we were too generous letting you go unpunished on your first failure." The man raised his arm at Jellal. He could not move, Jellal was frozen, he was speechless. A fireball appeared from the man's hand and aimed it at Jellal's, when suddenly, a young man stepped in the way after gently placing Jacob on the ground.

"Move, human," shouted the man, "This does not concern you!"

"If I had a goat token for every time I heard that," Lucas glared at the two. "I don't think so." Jellal looked at Lucas with shock. "You're gonna have to worry about me before targeting Jellal here." Jackal and Yubel had appeared behind Lucas, but was only visible to every person on the seen other than Jacob. The man's eyes had widened with anger.

"Hand over the traitor to us, immediately!"

"Not a chance!" Lucas lowered his right eye bottom lid and sticked his tongue out. Who ever showed him such an immature action I will never know. "Jackal was not the one responsible for the Pyramid of Light to be taken."

The two strangers were surprised at what the young man knew. The man looked at the woman, they both nodded and he diminished his flame. "There is a tournament here in three days, correct?" stated the woman, "You will face us both in this tournament. We will defeat you, and take Jackal back to face judgement!"

"In addition, due to your rebellious act against us" the man continued, "You will also join Jackal in his trial."

"And when I win," Lucas looked at Jackal and then Jellal, and back to the two, "You will not only relieve Jackal of his trial, but you will also allow Jellal his life." Jellal eyes widened in shock. He didn't want to believe that the man he wanted dead was willing to help him spare his own.

"Very well. But you must also prove Jackal's innocence in the process." said the woman

"Then it's decided! I will see you two in three days!" the two walked away and disappeared. Lucas turned to face Jellal and gave his hand to help Jellal up. Jellal slapped it out of the way and got himself up. Immediately disappearing without a trace. Lucas pondered a bit but shrugged and went off to help Jacob.

Lucas was consistently bowing to Jacob's parents apologizing for his condition, however, Jacob's parents figured it would be a "High School fight" as Lucas puts it. They were happy that the injuries were not too severe that required medical help from a hospital. Lucas was astounded at how well Jacob held his own after suffering all that damage. He started home, still processing the fact that this was the first time Jacob had summoned Exodia, well in a duel that is. And what a way to summon him. He then proceeded to call Reikou on the cell, telling her that Jacob's alright and everything was gonna be okay.

"So is that how you ended up unconscious in the warehouse?" Reikou asked as Lucas turned a corner.

"Yeah," Lucas continued, "But I promise you will not have to deal with that kind of duel. The only reason why Jacob and I got hurt was because of that guy you saw today. This is not how duels work, so as long as you do not duel this guy, you will be fine."

"And so did these hologram projections cause Jacob's injuries?"

Lucas hesitated a bit and responded with, "The next time we meet up, I will explain everything. But I ask that you will have an open mind. It's kind of a lot to take in." Reikou assure Lucas and hanged up as Lucas approached home. He opened the door and entered, "I'm home!"

No response.

"Right," Lucas went into his room and took off his vest, unbuttoned his first few buttons from his shirt, and laid down on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

What are you thinking about, Partner? Jackal asked.

"Who were those two guys who tried to burn Jellal, Jackal?"

Those were two of the Egyptian Gods who are to decide my trial. Jackal continued. The god of Horus and the god of Nephthys. You may have made a deal with the two, and it may seem like this situation was handled properly. But we must be on our guard. We will not know when we will have to face them.. Lucas picked Jackal's card and stared at it, then he looked at Jackal.

"I won't let them take you, partner. We'll take care of anyone who would even try to." Lucas raised his hand into a fist. Puzzled, Jackal tilted his head, but quickly realised he need to raise his fist to bump fists with Lucas. He was a spirit however, therefore, his fist went through Lucas's. They both began laughing. Lucas sat up, and looked at Yubel. Lucas raised his fist towards Yubel. "And we will also find your friend. I promise." Yubel grinned and floated over to Lucas to place her fist at surface level against Lucas's being careful not to go through his arm like Jackal did. Jackal joined with his fist as well.

"I made promises to both of you, and I will be sure that you guys will get what you want."

A dark figure appeared from a corner that was just across the street from Lucas's house. His eyes focused on Lucas. "It is not too long now."
