YOU'RE WHAT!
Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.

Now, with being locked up, even though it was under a different name, he wasn't sure that he was all that safe where he was at. The Volturi had a long reach to seek revenge against the ones that turn on them.
CHAPTER 37: ALL FACTS COMING TOGETHER
"Carlisle, do you think she is going to be able to function as well as Alice and Rosalie are hoping?" Esme asked her husband after the door had closed behind Charlie Swan.
"Sweetheart, I can't really answer your question until I see what condition Ms. Swan will be in when she wakes up. All I can do is make sure she isn't given anything else that will keep her sedated. And, then, if we're lucky, she will wake up sometime in the early morning hours. Once she does, then I'll be able to make a determination."

After things had begun to settle down at Bella's, Sam and Felix took the time to quietly tell Alice and Rosalie about the interview with the young man that had been taken into custody in Bella's room. And, of course, Edward, Jasper and Emmett were present to listen to the update.
"So, he wasn't there to kill Bella, but to gather information as to her condition and what she may or may not have told anyone. The Volturi were wanting confirmation about Bella's connection to one of the witnesses. They….."
Rosalie interrupted Alice by continuing with her thoughts, "They were wanting to make sure their guys hadn't screwed up too badly in abducting Bella. At the same time, they are trying to figure out a way to correct the mistake that was made in Bella escaping from them. I imagine they also were wanting an explanation of how most of their people had been killed and by whom. Chances are they're not sure if it was Bella's doing or from an outside source that might be trying to take over some of their territory."
"I have to agree with you. However, don't you think they would be expecting a report back from this person? What is going to keep them from trying to find him, or, make another attempt on Bella if they don't receive a report from anyone?" Alice tossed out for everyone's consideration.
"We need to go talk with this guy!" Edward declared to no one in particular, but everyone knew he was speaking to all of them.
"Edward, as much as I might like to accommodate you, the answer is a resounding 'HELL NO!'. You three need to stay put now more than ever because of all that has happened in such a short space of time and because of all that is about to happen over the next few days." Alice firmly told him and looked Jasper and Emmett in their eyes, letting them know that her statements included them as well as Edward. "I'm not talking to just one of you, but to all three in case any one of you decided to get a bright idea."
"I'm afraid that Alice is correct, Edward. All of you three need to stay out of sight right now. However, I can relieve your mind about another attempt being made on Bella by answering your question.
"The young man has been booked under a different name so no one can associate him to the Volturi. But he did tell us that he had been ordered to disappear for a while after checking on her at the hospital. He wasn't meant to make a report back unless it had been a failure, or he found out something that needed to be handled immediately." Sam agreed with Alice and then answered Edward's question as a means to reassure him.
The silence that hung heavy in the room after Sam had finished talking was enough to let everyone know that three guys were not happy with the current situation. They wanted to be involved; to protect their ladies; they were men of action. And, the one thing they were forgetting at the moment, their ladies were the ones assigned to protect them; that it was their job to protect federal witnesses and they were considered to be the best at what they do.
"Sam, could you or Felix take either me or Alice to talk with this individual?" Rosalie asked as she looked between the two U. S. Marshalls.
"Rosalie, I don't think that is a good idea. If too many people start paying him a visit it could draw unnecessary attention to him and leave him open to detection and repercussions from the Volturi."
"That's true. But I do want to know where his family is being held, especially his sister, so we can get to them before all of this other goes down. They need to be brought under our protection now, not later." Alice remarked.
"With the information he has given us in that regards, we are already doing some checking to locate their home address and to begin from that point to find his family, if they're not at home. We're waiting on a phone call giving us the information needed." Felix answered before Sam had a chance to do so.
So, with that said, everyone settled down for the wait. Rose, Alice and Edward decided to fix dinner for all of them while the rest went about handling other projects. Emmett had turned on the TV to search for any sports that might be on; Sam and Felix were quietly conferring with each other about possible plans of attack; Jasper was trying to read a book about military action of the civil war.
However, two things happened at the same time: Sam's phone rang, and a news item caught Jasper's and Emmett's attention as Emmett had been flipping through the channels. The anchorperson on the news program was talking about a multiple shooting that had taken place in a private home and then stated that the station would be transferring to the reporter that was on location at the shooting site.
The reporter was standing in front of the house where it could be seen that several covered bodies were being removed. It was described that the homeowners had company of four men visiting with the family which was comprised of four people, the parents and two children, an older son and a teenage daughter. "At this time the son and the daughter are missing along with one of the visitors. However, the homeowners along with three of their visitors are the victims of the fatal shootings.
"The police are securing the scene and declaring this to be the scene of multiple murders. They are currently looking through all paperwork and other items that have been found within the home to try to determine the cause of the killings and to get any leads as to who the murderer might be." The report had stated when at that moment a commotion could be heard as well as someone calling out to the police. And, as the reporter turned to the side, the address of the killings became visible.
Sam had gotten off the phone and was giving the address to Felix when the news report had caught their attention and then suddenly a catching of the breath could be heard in the otherwise silent room. "Damn, we need to get to that address as soon as possible and find out what the hell the cops know." Felix said in a rather shaky sounding voice that appeared to be full of suppressed emotion.
"What the hell is going on?" Alice demanded to know as she, Rosalie and Edward stepped out of the kitchen.
Everyone, all at once, began to speak and then just as quickly shut up. Holding up her hand, Rosalie looked at Sam and asked him to fill them in on what is going on. It didn't take long for Sam to explain everything and to let everyone know that the address showing on the news report was the same address as what he had just been given where the young man's parents and sister lived.
Alice and Rosalie looked at each of their three charges and then looked back to Sam and Felix. "Sam, you're on duty here with us, but under the current circumstances and the fact that you're a U. S. Marshall, I think you should go with Felix to the shooting location. Find out what you can about the teenager and see if you can get some kind of idea of where she might be, or, where she may have been taken." Alice suggested to the two older men.
"My suggestion would be to go to talk with your hidden witness first to alert him as to what has happened after you have been to the location." Rosalie threw out her thoughts.
"I think th….." But before Felix could get any further in what he started to say the commotion showing on the TV caught everyone's attention once more. It showed the police arresting a man in the crowd and he was being halted off to be placed into a police vehicle.
Sam and Felix look at each other after observing the action on the TV screen. "Is that who I think it is?" Asked Felix to which Sam answered only with a nod of his head.
"What?!" Asks or demands everyone else to be let in on what Sam and Felix are talking about.
"We recognize that man and he is connected to the Volturi organization. So, that ties in with what our new witness told us about his family being held hostage to force him to work with the Volturi."
"Excuse me for saying so, but Sam, Felix, I think this needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. That girl needs to be found and I mean found before anything can get back to the Volturi. That threat needs to be eliminated now, immediately." Alice spoke her mind concerning what they've just learnt.
"I couldn't agree with you more." Both law enforcement officers agreed.
So, without further ado, Sam and Felix left to go to the address they had been given to start their own investigative work with the main objective being to locate the young girl before anything could harm her.

Jacob Black was anxiously pacing his office waiting for word from Det. Norris about his quiet investigation into Norris's Captain's activities. He was, on the sly, going through certain phone records to join certain calls to certain dates of activities. And, Black had done the same exact things in his office to tie things back to the same two people from the direction of the AG's office. By doing that, each man felt that it would close the leak from both departments.
It had been a bit difficult for both men to do this and to keep it away from the two individuals the investigation centered around as well as the mainstream departments. It was extremely important to keep the two probes as silent as possible so nothing would leak back to the Volturi.
As Jacob had turned to pace back towards the door of his office, a knock halted his pacing and he yelled for the person to enter. And, it was no surprise to see the expected Detective open the door and to walk into the office.
"Well, I would say that the facts match and hold water, wouldn't you?" Was all that Jacob commented and then asked of the police officer.
"It depends on the pattern we see when we compare the records from both departments." Det. Norris answered without any hesitation or appearing to be insulted by Jacob's abrupt manner of speaking.
So, without exchanging any further words the two men got down to business and began looking over all of the information that their investigations had gathered. And, the results being that once the comparison was done all facts matched and showed a pattern of a lot of information leaking out to a little-known phone number that was found to be tied to the Volturi crime family.
After the comparison was completed, Jacob informed Det. Norris about the upcoming meeting that was being called for the next day and it was requested that the detective attend with everyone else.
"What's going on?" Norris asked of Jacob only to have Jacob reply back, "It seems that more evidence has come to light, and we are going to be having a meeting to plan the final takedown of the Volturi family on all fronts at the same time.
"Then, definitely count me in." And, with that being said, the meeting between the two men concluded with Det. Norris leaving.

Sam and Felix arrived on the scene as the police were doing a final sweep of the area before leaving. Both men introduced themselves to the officer in charge as they flashed their badges and requested to do an investigation of the area on their own. No one had any objections, so they filled Sam and Felix in on what they had found thus far. And, it was that information that helped to give Sam and Felix the direction in where they should begin their investigation.

With a slight moan and a groan, then a small movement of her hand, Bella appeared to be regaining consciousness. Esme was the first to notice it and then alerted her husband. Carlisle quickly moved closer to the bed to check over his new patient, and as he did, Bella opened her eyes.
AN: It seems that things are moving towards a conclusion. We still don't know why Carlisle was interested in bringing Bella back to consciousness; it must have something to do with what Alice and Rosalie asked him to do. With their investigation of the murder scene will Sam and Felix discover Janie?
