Sometimes Tommy is VERY messy. Then Annika gets mad. "Tommy, come here!" Annika shouts. "Look at the mess you have made!"

"Okay, Annika," says Tommy. "I am coming."

Tommy jumps out of the tub. Splash! Splash! Tommy splashes water on the floor. Drip. Drip. He drips water on the rug.

"Tommy!" Annika shouts. "You are making a BIGGER mess!"

Tommy smiles at Annika. "But, Annika," Tommy says, "you told me to look at the mess I made."

Now Annika is very angry. "I wish I lived here all by myself!" he shouts. Annika walks out of the room. SLAM! goes the door.

Tommy stops smiling. "Annika does not want me here any more," he says. "I guess I will go away." Tommy is sad.

Tommy gets dressed. Then he packs a big bag. "Come on, Rubber Duckie, "Tommy says. "We have to go."

Tommy closes the door softly. "Good-bye, house," he says. 'I will miss you."

Tommy drags his bag down San Bernardino. He goes to see Anna. "Tommy, it is late!" says Anna. "You should be in bed."

"I have no bed," says Tommy. "Annika is mad at me. I have to find a new home."

You can stay with me," says Anna. "My nest is a nice place to sleep Tommy climbs into the nest. Ouch!" says Tommy. "This is NOT a nice place to sleep. It is full of sticks!"

Tommy climbs out of the nest.

"Good night, Anna," he says.

Then he goes to Willie's house.

"Tommy, it is late! You should be in bed," says Willie.

"I have no bed," says Tommy. "Annika is mad at me. I have to find a new home."

"You can share my little bed," says Willie. Tommy climbs into Willie's bed. "Do you like my soft little bed?" Willie asks.

"Well, it is soft," says Tommy.

Then Tommy turns over. CRASH! He falls on to the floor. "Willie, this bed is TOO little!"

Tommy leaves Willie's house with his big bag. He is very tired. Then he sees Oscar's trash can. BANG! BANG! Tommy bangs on the trash can. "Oscar, are you sleeping?" Tommy asks.

"I was sleeping," says Oscar. "Now I am awake." Oscar the Grouch is mad.

"Oscar, where can I find a big soft bed?" Tommy asks.

"A big soft bed?" yells Oscar. "Soft beds are yucchy!" BANG! goes the lid of the trash can.

"Oh, dear," says Tommy. "Where can I sleep? I am so tired." Tommy sits down. Soon he is asleep.

San Bernardino is quiet. Everyone is sleeping. Everyone but Annika.

Annika is looking for Tommy. He wakes up Anna. "Anna, have you seen Tommy?" asks Annika.

"He was here," says Anna. "But he is not here any more."

Then Annika goes to Willie's house. "Willie, have you seen Tommy?"asks Annika.

"He was here," says Willie. "But he is not here any more."

Annika walks down the street. He is very sad. "Tommyee!" he calls. "Where are you?" Then hesees Tommy.

"Tommy, are you okay?" asks Annika. "Sure Annika, I was just sleeping," says Tommy.

Annika picks up Tommy's bag. "Come on home, old pal," he says. "I am sorry I yelled at you.

Annika and Tommy go home. "Gee, Annika," says Tommy," it is good to be home." He opens his big bag. All his toys fall out. "I am sorry, Annika. I made a mess again," says Tommy.

"That is okay," says Annika. "We will clean it up in the morning."

Tommy and Annika are ready for bed. "I am glad you are home," says Annika."Me too," says Tommy. "Good night, Annika." "Good night, Tommy."
