Author's Note! :
Hey! I know I've been gone for years, but I'm back! Who knows if anyone cares or notices, if you did care, I'm sorry for leaving you in the dark! I'll be honest, I forgot about this fic!
But... a notification reminded me, and I figured, why not? It's a pretty good fic idea and the writing was going right along... cool! So here I am, updating the fic. It's been two years, so hopefully my writing is at least a little bit better! We'll see I suppose...
Please don't be afraid to leave criticism on this! :)
Without further ado, here's chapter three! (Summary: Lena is a disaster lesbian)
Lena woke up to her alarm. The parts to assemble her bed hadn't arrived yet, so she'd ended up sleeping on Sombra's loveseat on her side of the room, while Sombra stayed on her bed.
She yawned, and bounced up.
"Early morning classes!" She chirped, walking over to her duffel bag. She took out a towel, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and took off her pajamas, putting on the towel and walking to the showers.
As she walked down the hall to the shower she passed a clock on the wall that read 7:30. "Right on schedule." She said triumphantly to herself. She jogged into the showers. There was one shower going, and a quiet voice wafted from the stall, singing a French lullaby.
"Au clair de la lune,
Mon ami Pierrot,
Prête-moi ta plume
Pour écrire un mot.
Ma chandelle est morte,
Je n'ai plus de feu.
Ouvre-moi ta porte
Pour l'amour de Dieu."
Lena smiled dreamily. "That's beautiful." She whispered to herself. The voice was truly beautiful. It was soft, barely audible over the shower.
Lena took a quick shower. She'd taught herself to take 5 minute showers for the morning before track training. Now, she'd be using that skill to get ready for early classes.
She got out of the shower just as the other girl had finished singing.
Au clair de la lune,
On n'y voit qu'un peu.
On cherche la plume,
On cherche du feu.
En cherchant de la sorte,
Je n'sais c'qu'on trouva;
Mais je sais qu'la porte
Sur eux se ferma.
The girl came out of the shower with a dark purple towel wrapped around herself. She was gorgeous. She had pale skin with jet black hair, long and glossy. She had amber eyes that gleamed in the dim lights. She had a face with sharp bone structure and beautiful milky white skin. Lena was blown away.
"H- hey!" Lena burst out, rubbing a smaller towel on her short, wet hair.
The girl narrowed her eyes. "Hello?" She said in a French accent.
Lena was hyperventilating on the inside, but on the outside she had her usual over-friendly outgoing demeanor.
"I'm Lena!"
The girl raised her dark eyebrows, and held out a hand with perfectly manicured nails. Her arms were well-toned with light muscles. "Amelie Lacroix," she said, shaking and then immediately turning away, grabbing her body wash out of the shower, and leaving the room with a swift strut.
Lena was utterly amazed. "Oh," she said and sunk to a bench.
Lena went through the rest of getting ready for the day in a daze, thinking about the beautiful French girl.
It was quite calming to jog throughout the campus that morning to the building that Lena was going to her Communication Theory class at.
The class was pretty boring, not a particularly engaging lecture, so Lena decided that she did not like this professor. But, she met a couple other people that she planned to study with. Thankfully, that was the only class Lena had scheduled for that day, so even though it was boring, that was the only lecture she had to deal with.
As Lena was leaving the class, she took her pills and then checked her phone. There was a text from Angela!
Angela: Hey Lena! Here are the details for the party! It's tomorrow night, i hope you can make it! ? ゚ホノ
What? Alpha Omega beginning of semester party
When? 11:00 Saturday night
Where? Alpha Omega House on Oak Street
Lena smiled as she typed out a quick response.
Lena: cool! I'll forward it to my roommate and see if she can come, too! I definitely can.
Angela: Awesome! I'll see you there.
Lena: Smashing!
Lena set off into a jog across the grounds, playing some music in her earbuds as she picked up into a run.
She was fast. Lena had always been very fast. She ran and ran, picking up speed as she went. She whooshed by students lounging on the grass, on benches, and on blankets and towels.
When she finally came to a halt, she found herself in front of the pool building. She tilted her head, and went inside. She was unsure why she wanted to, she just did. She sat down on the bleachers next to the huge pool, and looked at the one person who was swimming.
No way!
It was the beautiful French girl who Lena had seen in the showers! Amelie was her name.
Lena watched her finish her laps. The girl rivaled Lena in speed, although Lena reminded herself that speed on dry land was a completely different skill from speed in the water.
She watched as the girl's muscles rippled, and she flowed through the water gracefully, almost like a seal with her porcelain skin.
As she finally finished, Lena found herself gazing dreamily as Amelie pushed out of the water and onto the side of the pool, long wet ponytail whipping around to lay down her back.
Her eyes were closed, and Lena realised how strange it was that she was sitting there in the empty pool with just the girl. She quickly but softly stood up and padded back to the exit, Amelie just catching sight of gray leggings, white sneakers and a brown pixie cut as it slipped out the door.
Lena broke into a sprint across the wide expanse of perfect grass, hurtling by students carelessly. "Had she seen me? Of course not. What if she thinks I'm a stalker?" Lena almost skidded to a stop in front of her dorm building and caught her breath. Ugh. Why had she done that? If that girl -that breathtakingly beautiful and… and fit… and hot… - that girl! Lena shook her head. Stop being such a creep! If that girl saw Lena then she was screwed. She'd tell everyone how this weird little freshman lesbian was following her around all day. Lena shook her head again, slower, and pushed open the metal doors.
As she neared her door, she heard muffled voices and laughter from within her room. She pulled out her keys and unlocked the door, walking into Sombra and three of the friends from her online friend group.
"Lena! Welcome back!" Sombra greeted her cheerily, from where she lay on the small brunette girl's lap. Hana, Lena remembered the streamer's name.
Spread out on the daybed above them was Lucio, his laptop out and his headphones half on. He gave Lena a wave and a grin.
In the loveseat was another person that Lena hadn't noticed at the activity fair. She decided to approach them with a hand extended.
"Hello! I'm Lena."
Lena noticed their oversize teal hoodie and grey dyed hair. They then returned the gesture and pulled out an earbud. "Yo. I'm Lynx."
Lena grinned. "Wicked name!"
"Thanks," Lynx replied with a smile. "I picked it myself."
"Wow, awesome!"
Sombra interjected with a small noise, and "Oh! The party you mentioned earlier, did you get the details?"
With a nod, Lena replied, "Yeah, it's at 11 on Saturday."
Sombra bit her lip and sighed. "Sorry chica, no can do. That's totally my bad for forgetting, but Lynx has just reminded me of our club meetings this weekend. They're pretty long, so I won't be able to make it."
"Aw, I was really looking forward to going with you!"
"I'm sorry! I feel bad now."
Lena flopped down into a criss-cross on the floor. "No! Didn't mean it that way. It's no problem, it's not like I'm not going to know anyone there."
Sombra sighed happily. "Fiu! I thought you were going to be upset."
Lena shook her head. "Nope! I understand. Had to cancel tons of plans for training when I was in highschool."
She lay back on the floor, Sombra's plush carpet was way soft. "I think I'm just going to go to sleep right here."
Hana giggled. "Or Luci could move so that you can go to sleep on a real bed!"
"Hey! I'm so comfortable here!"
Sombra laughed with Hana. "Yeah. It's my bed, and I say to let Lena get some rest."
Lucio groaned, but slid off the bed with his laptop onto the floor. Lena thanked him profusely as he insisted that it really wasn't as big of a deal as he'd made it, and she passed out almost immediately as the group around her quieted down and she nestled herself in Sombra's soft pillows.
