Chapter 9: Senior year and Graduation

The day that everyone was waiting for has finally arrived senior year. Hannah was so happy that high school will soon be over and she can go to college, to achieve her goals. She loved being the band with her friends but she also had to think realistically if the band doesn't work out. So she applies for college and majors in criminal justice to be a police officer. Lily, plans her future by soon being an English teacher and teach young Korean kids, and teens how to improve and speak English fluently. Xero and Haruten work together to be in video game business and create a game together that would be popular. Haruka was going to college to major in being a music teacher for elementary kids. Senior year is very important to them because it meant that high school was ending and their real future will begin by going to college. Hannah and her friends make preparations for sending out college applications, getting their yearbooks, and their caps and gowns for graduation. Their families are proud of them for graduating soon, especially Hannah's parents. Well in Haruten's case his uncles and aunties are proud of him since his parents died. When the yearbooks had arrived, They were so excited to see how it turned out and they were ready to have it signed by all their classmates and friends. Also for their senior year, they wanted to perform at graduation rather than the marching band.

During their lunch break at school, they all met in the music room to sign each other's yearbook and to discuss what songs to perform. Moments later, the student body president Karen Yamaguchi comes in and talks to them about what the class song should be. As they were discussing it, the class song was gonna be "Graduation (friends forever)" by Vitamin C. Karen suggested that they should sing the class song last and they could pick any song they wanted to do first. Karen sits in on their meeting so she could be informed about what songs they were going to play and made sure it was appropriate. While the band members have their discussions, they agreed on doing some cover songs, which were: As long as you love me by the Backstreet Boys, Haruten and Hannah will do their duet to the song "Like I'm gonna lose you" by Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend and then do the class song. Karen nods her head in agreement with a smile she also likes those songs. When lunch was over, they all had gone to class and it was the last one for the day since it was half-day. When it was just five minutes away until the bell had rung, everyone was anxiously waiting in their seats to hear the bell go off. As the time drew closer and closer everyone was so excited. The moment the bell was heard everyone leaped from their desks and shouted in excitement that they were officially done with high school.

As school was finally over, all senior students were to report to the gym to rehearse for their graduation. The purpose of this was to have the students be lined up by last name to receive their diploma, also Hannah her bandmates were there to rehearse the songs as well. Their friends who were also their roadies were setting up the instruments. While doing a soundcheck in the corner, the principal makes a few announcements in regards to graduation how everyone needed to be present and be in alphabetical order by last name. Other announcements included that graduates are not to do anything stupid that would result in them getting kicked out in public. When soundcheck was completed, everyone went through the entire practice in one session. Which meant the principal would start by welcoming the guests, introducing the valedictorian and so on. Then it came down to the students being in a single file line to receive their diplomas. After everyone goes through the process since it was only practice, that was when they went over the class song followed by Hannah and her band playing songs of their choice to end the ceremony.

A few days later, the big day has finally arrived. The staff got to the high school early since that's the choice of venue they decided on. The band arrived early as well to do one final soundcheck before playing the songs live. Soon after, all graduates and their families and friends have started gathering. All graduates were to report to the opposite end of the gym to sign in and get ready to be in line to march inside the gym. It wasn't long until everyone filled up the seats and soon after the ceremony begins. Just like how it was rehearsed, the ceremony goes smoothly and Hannah's family is so happy for her achievements. It was unfortunate though that Tatsuma had to repeat the grade since he had spent the year goofing off and trying to hit on almost every girl in school. But, Hannah was relieved that with high school being over she doesn't have to deal with Tatsuma ever again. When the ceremony was coming to a close, that's when the principal introduced the band Hannah and her friends go on stage to get ready.

The band started their setlist with the class song which was "Graduation (friends forever)" by Vitamin C then it was "As long as you love me" by the Backstreet Boys, and finally ending the show with Haruten and Hannah's duet " Like I'm gonna lose you" by Meghan Trainor ft. John Legend. The audience and the graduates loved the songs that were picked and some graduates were crying because some were happy that high school was over and others were sad that they won't see their besties as much anymore. When the ceremony ended, everyone proceeded to the football to do meet and greet with the graduates to take pictures and gives leis. Afterwards Hannah and invited her friends over to the house to celebrate and they all had combined their grad parties into one. They were all very happy that high school was over and a new chapter in their lives can finally begin.
