"Bullseye! That makes four to me, against two," Scott smirked at Virgil on the archery field. They found it useful for practising firing grapple lines, but they used arrows for this particular activity.
"I'm better at the action stuff rather than the graceful stuff."
"I'm just better than you, period."
Virgil lined up his shot at the top of a tree and fired smiling when he heard a pleasant thud, "try that then."
"Will do. So, what do you think of EOS?"
Virgil sighed, "I don't trust it, Scott. It let John live sure, but computers can get viruses so easily."
"I agree with you," Scott fired. "She didn't hesitate to try and kill him."
"Oh, we're calling it she?"
"Well it does sound like a young girl, and John calls Thunderbird 5 she."
Virgil shrugged. "Fair enough," he shot an arrow behind him and it pierced the bullseye. "We'll just have to see what happens. John likes her."
"How did you do that?"
"Practice makes perfect," Virgil flicked an arrow up with his foot and caught it before fitting it to the bow. "Kayo taught me some tricks too."
"Kayo huh? You and her seeing each other or something?"
Virgil laughed, "no we're not, that won't happen."
Scott hummed thoughtfully, "we should check on John, that's unless his new friend doesn't eavesdrop on us."
"It was pretty terrifying to think that it was her taking the image of our brother earlier," Virgil stuck the remaining arrows into the ground and leant back against one of the trees.
"Good thing she fell for the cookies," Scott grinned. "Always use food to find out the truth."
"What did you say exactly?"
Scott began to walk back to the house and Virgil followed, "I just told him that it was a shame he was in Thunderbird 5 instead of enjoying cookies with us."
"And then?"
"Well he, we thought, said he missed Grandma's cookies being up in Thunderbird 5, and we know for a fact that she sends him some in care packages."
"Nicely deduced there Sherlock Tracy."
"Elementary dear Virgil," Scott grinned back. "I guess we'll just have to put up with EOS, John has invited her to stay with him."
"Goodie."
"At least she'll stop him from talking to himself since he'll no longer be alone up there."
Virgil laughed, "I guess that's true. I hope Brains can reset her systems so all that hacking business is gone."
"I'm sure he has. It's nice that John has some company now, however virtual it is."
Up on Thunderbird 5, John was showing EOS around the space station, he was still a little concerned about her but her monitor remained green as it zipped along the corridors above him.
"You can't follow me into this room EOS, but I can hear you when I need to contact you."
"What do you do in there?"
"It's the control centre where I can monitor the Earth on a larger scale than just in the ring."
"Please let me help John? I owe you for almost killing you."
"I think that should be me saying that you owe me for almost killing me." He pondered, "alright, I'll teach you about our organisation and how we respond to calls, you can be my virtual assistant. Does that sound good?"
EOS nodded as best she could, "I'd like that John."
"Good. For now, I'm going to get some sleep, you pushed me to my limits today."
"I am sorry. I just thought you were going to attack me, I was only acting in defence."
John walked into his bedroom and smiled, "let's get one thing straight. I would never put Thunderbird 5 in peril, and since you are Five, that now includes you. No one will touch you EOS, not if I have anything to say on the matter."
"Thank you John, I'll let you sleep now."
John yawned, "thank you EOS. Your first duty, don't wake me up unless the globe beeps or you get an incoming signal."
"Yes, John."
John smiled as he shut his eyes, would EOS work out? Only time would tell.
