Scott looked around at his family gathered in the lounge all smiling, but hidden under each smile he could see the heartbreak at losing the TV21 and the Mechanic getting away again, just like the Hood had once done. At least that was one criminal who couldn't get away from the prison cell he was in now. Kayo glanced across the room at him and saw him sigh, she got up from where she was sitting cross-legged in one of the lounge chairs and left the room jerking her head to the side slightly hoping that Scott had seen her, which he had.

"Back in a bit guys," Scott smiled and left in the same direction Kayo had gone in and found her in the rose garden around the back of the villa. "Hey, Kayo."

"Are you okay, Scott?"

"Not really, I feel as low as anything if I'm honest."

Kayo nodded and sat down on the grass, "it wasn't your fault. If you had gone for that ship, you would've lost Thunderbird 3 and Alan."

Scott joined her, "that's why I can't think about it. But I feel like I've let my dad down."

"You haven't, you know that he wouldn't have wanted you to risk your brother's life for a plane."

Scott bowed his head, "I've been stupid and careless recently. I almost lost Virgil, Gordon and now Alan."

"You almost got yourself killed too. It was the Mechanic who put your lives at risk, not you," Kayo rested her hand on Scott's shoulder. "Scott?"

Scott looked up at her tearfully, "Kayo."

"You, are not weak okay? We're still here," she wrapped her arms around him and stroked his head gently. "None of this was your fault."

"I feel like it is."

"No, it isn't. And we'll get the Mechanic someday, even if that means I have to kill him."

Scott's head snapped up, "we don't kill people Kayo, he hasn't so why should we?"

"It's only a matter of time. He's killed us inside, and I don't allow that where family is concerned."

Scott smiled. "Please don't Kayo, for me?"

Kayo kissed his cheek, "fine. But I'll make him pay somehow." She looked back at the house hearing the sound of the piano being played, "want to go back?"

"I could do with one of Virgil's compositions."

Kayo helped him to his feet and linked arms with him as they walked back to the house where the remaining members of the family were listening to Virgil play in the lounge. Scott walked over and ruffled his brother's hair gently before sitting down behind the piano with Kayo.
