Since I hate Alola anime and all it stands for, it will be Kalos Ash joining them eventually.
I've decided to change up the format a bit from hereon so it isn't entirely confusing as to what bit is what.
Italics: Dialogue from the show/movie
Bold Italics: Describing the scene or summarising parts of the episode/movie
Regular text is obviously for them speaking whilst watching
Edit: I wrote the part above this and everything up to the part of where the episode begins nearly a year ago. Wow. Anyway, this story is NOT abandoned, it will be updated, albeit rarely. HOWEVER, if you want to adopt it, as a few people have asked...Send me your take on them watching Pokemon The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back. As I've said before, this fic will do the movies too. I'll read them. Best take, in my eyes at least, gets to adopt it. If there's no entries, I'll continue this. I know how long these things can take and as its early June now, I'll give you until AUGUST 31st.
James looked around at the assembled twerps and sighed.
'Why does this always happen to me?' He whined in his head as the twerps, from the original twerps to the Hoenn twerps, even the Sinnoh twerpette and the Kalos twerps were here.
"What are you doing here, James?" Misty asked.
"Here to try steal our Pokemon?!" Max asked, angrily.
"No, I don't know where here even is!" James cried as the rest of the group glared at him. "Please, I just want to get back to Jessie and Meowth."
Brock decided to take pity on James, out of everyone in Team Rocket, James had seemed the most agreeable over the years and it was obvious the man was confused and a bit frightened of what had happened, to be surrounded by people he'd wronged over the years.
"We've been brought here to see Ash's adventures over the years, and I assume it'll be plenty of you and the rest of Team Rocket as well." Brock told him as James looked over, contemplating the information Brock gave him.
"We were going to see about going to bed for the night." Clemont said
"Shall we just get on with it?" May asked, giving James a suspicious look still that Dawn, Serena, Misty, Brock and Bonnie were also mirroring.
"I suppose there's no harm in one more..." Clemont trailed off before Bonnie rushed over to press play on the next video.
The scene opened with Ash, Brock and Misty walking through a forest and arguing over whether Ash had gotten them lost
"Oh I know that." Most of them chorused, laughing with each other over the fact that Ash never really changed, no matter where he was or who he was with. Then again, they thought, that was a good thing. They wouldn't want Ash to change.
"I took a shortcut? It was you who said to go this way!"
"Ha! If I was leading, we wouldn't have gotten lost like this!"
"Who said we're lost?"
"Listen, genius! If you don't know where you are or where you're going, that means you're lost!" Misty yelled at Ash.
"Wow, Ash really never learns does he?" May joked as the others sat around watching it, James hanging to the edges, trying to blend into the furniture of the room.
The scene progressed to show a wild Oddish appear and Misty knock it out, as she went to capture it, a Bulbasaur knocked the ball away and proceeded to knock Misty's Starmie out. Ash then sent out Butterfree to attack Bulbasaur, who was also defeated by the grass type, who then fled with Oddish.
"Bulbasaur! It's not fair, I want it!" Ash cried.
"Sounding like a Team Rocket member there." James muttered as a joke, seeing the others turn on him, he raised his hands in the air.
"I was joking, alright twerps? I didn't mean it, he'd be terrible in Team Rocket, can't take orders at all."
"Well, you're not wrong there." Brock said.
The heroes walked over a rope bridge before it suddenly snapped, sending Brock falling into the raging river below, Ash just managing to pull himself, Misty and Pikachu up the bridge and to the other side.
"Brock!" Those who hadn't witnessed it first-hand called out in shock, before realising just who was sat next to them.
"I was fine guys, see? Not a scratch." Brock promised with a grin.
"How'd you get down there?" Ash asked as he saw Misty lying in the bottom of a hole.
"I fell in, how else?" Misty shouted at him. "What's a trap doing here?"
"It seems pretty strange." Ash remarked simply.
"Can Ash be anymore naive?" Misty asked with a fond shake of her head and a sigh as the rest agreed with her.
"Ash can be pretty boneheaded at the best of times." Max said.
"Never the most subtle, is he?" Dawn agreed.
They walked on before being ensnared in a trap, Bulbasaur appearing to mock them before leaving, Ash struggling to escape for a rematch. The scene panned to show a moving bush, with Jessie, James and Meowth there, hoping the rumours of a hidden village nearby are true, before Ash recounted to Misty how he was sure Brock had been captured by pirates.
"Well, got to give him points for his imagination." Brock remarked as Clemont nodded.
"He's never been short on that." Clemont agreed.
"Ahoy! Why are you hanging around up in that tree?" Brock asked as he looked up to see Ash and Misty captured.
"Thank Arceus you were alright, Brock." Dawn said.
"Takes more than a current to take me down." Brock smiled.
Brock took Ash and Misty to meet Melanie, the girl who rescued him from the rapids, and showed them the Pokemon health spa that she had set up, allowing abandoned and wild Pokemon to relax, rest and recover together in a peaceful environment.
"Wow, that places looks amazing!" Bonnie gushed, eyes gleaming as the rest who hadn't been there looked in awe.
"It's great that Pokemon have a place to recover and recuperate." Max acknowledged.
Brock and Misty fought over Brock's infatuation with Melanie as Ash remarked that you'd have to be stupid to fall into one of the traps.
"Wait, didn't you all fall into one?" May asked with a confused look as Misty and Brock looked awkwardly away.
"Some things never change in regards to beautiful women, do they?" Dawn asked Brock with a teasing grin as Brock blushed.
"Why do I get the feeling we'll see somebody fall into one of those holes?" Clemont asked as James, who had tried to stay silent and unnoticed for the most part, put his head in his hands, something that Bonnie noticed.
"You fell in, didn't you?" She asked him quietly as he nodded.
The next scene showed Team Rocket at the bottom of one of the holes.
Everyone except James started laughing at the misfortune of the Rocket members as they grumbled inside of the hole about their bad luck.
They watched as the scene changed to show Misty apologising to Oddish for their attack earlier, before Bulbasaur appeared and tackled her, Ash challenging Bulbasaur to another fight before Melanie intervened, explaining why Bulbasaur had been so hostile to them.
"Well, at least Bulbasaur had good intentions." May remarked.
"Yeah, Bulbasaur is one of the best."Misty smiled. "I was really sorry for scaring that Oddish, I hope it feels better now."
"I'm sure it's happy." Brock told her.
"It would be great to have a Pokemon like that." Ash said, remarking on how brave Bulbasaur was to become the protector of the village. Suddenly Team Rocket attacked the village.
The friends turned to see James sinking into his seat.
"Want to explain why you're always trying to steal people's Pokemon?" Clemont asked.
"Yeah! Why don't you go catch your own?" Bonnie said.
"We don't steal them for ourselves!" James protested. "It's for the boss! It's for his goals, it's only a job."
"It's evil and wrong and you know its bad." Misty challenged him.
"Well it's not like we haven't helped before. We've sided with you twerps to stop other groups, even other Team Rocket members before." James reminded them. "Besides, you and Brock know I'm good, I come from a rich family remember, I don't need to steal Pokemon."
"Then why do you do it?" May asked.
"Because it allows me to get away from my family, be with my friends and dare I say, it's fun to explore the world, even if it is for this reason." James said, as the others turned back to the screen, intent on ignoring him.
They watched as Team Rocket revealed a giant flying stadium with a wind tunnel to capture the Pokemon and as Ash, Brock, Misty and Melanie helped the Pokemon to escape, Ash helping Bulbasaur who watched Ash curiously.
"How do you guys afford all of these things? Surely Team Rocket doesn't spend that much on just a pair of people?" Clemont asked James, curious.
"Some things we get from Team Rocket, others I pay for out of my own pocket. Most of it is just reused from a last failed attempt though. We have severaly damaged Team Rocket's finances, I think the boss just gives us these things now to make sure we stay out of the way so he can get on with actual successful work in Kanto and Johto." James remarked.
With the help of Bulbasaur and Ash, Team Rocket were quickly defeated and blasted away again, before Melanie asked Ash if he thought Bulbasaur would do well with his team.
"So I'm guessing Ash and Bulbasaur team up?" Bonnie asked.
"Yeah, he's one of Ash's best friends." Brock replied.
"Cool! I can't wait to see more of him." Bonnie said.
"Bulbasaur will join you on one condition. It wants to battle you in a Pokemon match, right, Bulbasaur?"
"Bulbasaur wanted the measure of Ash as a trainer?" Dawn asked.
"At first I wanted to battle him, but it was best Ash did, I wouldn't have stood a chance." Misty admitted.
"Well, that was enjoyable." Brock said as the video ended. "Right, time for bed. For real this time." He said, heading off Clemont, who looked ready to object as Max and Bonnie both let out large yawns.
"Right, so what do we do?" Clemont asked.
Another flash of light appeared as another note showed up.
"Sleeping bags will be provided for all of you in the next few minutes. Just sleep where you please." Max read before suddenly a sleeping bag for each of them appeared next to them.
"Well, that solves that." May said. "Goodnight everyone."
