Prolog

Black. It was all black.

He floated in the dark. He didn't know where he is or how long have he been there. All he knew was that it was a dark and cold place.

He wasn't dead, but he wasn't alive either. He was somewhere in between. He could hear voices; some of them were of his long lost friends, and others of his godson and his friends. He could hear both sides crying for him. He was tired. All he wanted was to sleep…

He kept on floating in the dark, trying to get to his friends, but they kept pushing him away.

"It's not your time yet"

"Go back"

"Find a way to live"

"You still have work to do"

"You will find out what it is"

He didn't want to live, he wanted to rest.

"It's not your time yet. Someone is waiting for you there. Go back to them"

'Waiting for him?' 'They?' only his godson will wait for him, no?

Janet

No, she can't be waiting for him. She had died years ago, when his godson had been a baby, a few months before his best friend had died, before his godson's family was slaughtered by Voldemort.

When he thought about her he felt his heart drop. She was his love, his Janet.

His Janet Prince.

She was a Ravenclaw, the smartest witch in Hogwarts during their time and a year younger than him. He remembered how he fell in love from the moment she fell from her broom right into his arms. He was so madly in love, that he didn't even care that she was the cousin of his nemesis Severus Snape. She was beautiful, she was funny, she was smart and in his eyes, she was perfect.

He could barely wait for her graduation before asking her to move in with him. They lived in total bliss until the Order called.

And he answered that call.

That's when the fighting started. He knew she was scared, him being an Order member meant that she was in constant danger, but his Gryffindor pride was too great to back up. She blamed him of being ignorant. He blamed her of being a selfish coward. They stopped seeing eye to eye until one day he came back home and she was gone, leaving a note behind saying she couldn't do it anymore, that she didn't want to get hurt.

He hadn't heard from her until….

***Flashback***

"What do you mean they attacked a muggle town?!" Shouted a pissed off James.

The Order of the Phoenix members were sitting in the Potter's safe house living room. They were listening to the latest update on the Death-Eaters activities. Things were looking bad already and it sounded like it will only get worse.

"James calm down and sit down" Remus was trying to get his friend to sit back down so the meeting could continue. With a grunt and glare sent to the young father, Mad-Eye Moody continued his report of the Death-Eaters attack.

As the old (and completely bonkers) Auror continued his report, Sirius was observing in boredom the room. Everyone were looking as worn out as he felt. Bones was leaning against the wall behind Fenwick chier, Remus was holding James down by the shoulder, Frank Longbottom was fighting sleep near the fireplace, the Prewett twins were sitting on the sofa next to Meadowes whom was taking notes, Albus was sitting next to Alastor and Lily was bouncing Harry on her lap, trying to get the baby back to sleep but not wanting to miss the meeting.

Many were missing in the room. Some of them were out there, either spying or fighting, some went into hiding just like James and Lily and many had been lost to the coast. It started to feel like this war would never end.

"...those bastards on broomsticks kept the rampage until all of cokeworth were set on fire…" Alastor kept prattle until Lily's soft voice stopped him "they attacked coke...worth?"

The room went quiet and all eyes were moving between Moody and Lily. With a sign, Albus turned to Lily "I'm afraid so, my dear. they attacked your home town and it seems there is no survivors among the muggles".

Shaking, Lily pulled her son close to her chest and cried into his hair. James sprang out from his chair to his wife's side, holding her as she cried for the lost of all the people whom she grew up with, along with her own parents.

With heavy sign, Albus turn to Sirius "the town was burned down, including Spinner's End"

"And?" asked Sirius angrily "am I supposed to cry that your toy spy Snape had lost his house?" he barked a bitter laugh as he turned his face away. He was angry that his friend lost her parents, that her childhood home was gone. He shared her pain. But there were no compassion in his heart for the bloody Death-Eater, no matter how much Dumbledore trusted him.

"You didn't know?" asked Albus cautiously.

"Didn't know what?"

"Janet Prince had lived there, she and your daughter…"

"Our daughter…?" Sirius looked very pale.

"You didn't know?" Dumbledore looked at him with shock in is blue eyes.

"No, I didn't know. Janet….Daughter?!" he was a father!

"Um yes… Miss Prince had given birth to a baby girl on September if I'm not mistaken…" Albus murmured.

That means that my daughter is just a little over one-year-old.

"Where are they? I want to see them." Sirius jumped from his sit. He was a father! Him and Janet are sharing a little girl, and he wanted the both of them right by his side.

"Congratulations Sirius!" James, Lily, Remus and the rest of the members in the room said to him. Lily turned her head to Dumbledore and her face immediately fell again. "Albus...?"

Looking back at Dumbledore, Sirius saw the old man sad face. And his heart fell.

"No, no, no, no…"

"Sirius…."

"No…."

"Sirius I'm sorry…."

"No…"

"The Death-eaters destroyed the house while Snape wasn't there; Janet and your girl didn't make it…"

"NO!" screamed Sirius "they hadn't die. They can't be DEAD!" he cried out.

"Sirius, mate…." James tried to calm him down while Harry started to cry from his godfather shouts.

"No! They couldn't, they can't be dead" Sirius cried, feeling his heart bleeding inside. His Janet had died before he could tell her how sorry he was. His daughter had died before he had the chance to hold her in his arms. His family was robbed from him before he had a chance to meet them.

His life was over for him.

***End flashback***

Since that day, he promised he would live for his godson, the only one who was like a son to him.

His godson Harry, HE needs him. For Harry he should live.

Determent, Sirius looked for a way to get back to life.
