Kayo began one more patrol of the island desperately searching for any sign of the Chaos Crew or their cruiser, they had hit the water thanks to her, but why wasn't the ship's signal appearing on her radar? With a sigh she turned Thunderbird Shadow back to the island and landed on her launchpad, she found herself facing an empty hangar and walked down to Brains' office where the others had taken refuge in case of another attack.

"Kayo, any sign of them?" Grandma asked, seeing Kayo's distress.

"Nothing, it's like they've disappeared off the planet," she trailed off. "Sorry, too soon. Where are Lady Penelope and Parker?"

"They've taken FAB1 underwater, but their last report came back as negative," the Mechanic crossed his arms. "I think we can go back upstairs."

Kayo nodded, "agreed. I'll join you later."

"Kayo?" Grandma called and she looked around at her.

"Yes?"

"That was really brave of you earlier, and kind. I know how badly you wanted to go to the Oort Cloud with the boys, but if you hadn't stopped the Chaos Crew, the outcome would have been so different. Thank you."

She nodded, "just doing my job, Grandma."

Kayo turned and headed to Scott's room where she had taken up residence. It felt cold despite the sunshine flooding in, and the clothes he had left behind rested on the back of his desk chair, she pulled the shirt to her chest breathing in his scent and lay back on the bed unhappily thinking about her brothers and soulmate light-years away wondering how many days they would be gone for. Horror crossed her mind thinking it could be a year if something were to go wrong with the T-Drive engine on the return trip, and she grabbed her journal from the bedside table. Her eyes lingered on a photo of her and Scott cuddling on the beach and with a sigh, she began to write.

'Dear Diary,

I wish I had gone with you guys, but I couldn't, your safety is my priority and when you find Jeff you can tell him I kept the island safe for you guys to launch from.

I haven't found my uncle, but I know he is behind the Chaos Crew's attack. How else would they have found the island without him telling them? I hope you can forgive me for not being there with you Scott. I so desperately wanted to find Jeff with you, to see the joy on your face and his, but as I said, security takes priority. I was supposed to be there for Alan too, I'm his sister, and family are meant to be there for each other in the worst and best of times. Who knows how long this mission will go on? Jeff was gone for eight years, I can't cope without you guys here for that long. Please find him soon and get back here, we're a small group left and if we're attacked again before you get back, I can't defend the island alone, I can't see the Mechanic lending me a hand on a retaliation.

Kayo.'

She looked back to the photo again and blew a kiss at it, then hugged the shirt again. A tear trickled down her cheek and she got off the bed staring back at the empty room, she sighed and turned the corner into the corridor leading to the lounge closing his door.

Up in the middle of the Oort Cloud, John, Virgil and Gordon were wondering what was taking Scott and Alan so long to get back to their ships. John had told them five minutes ago to get out of the collapsing planetoid, but ever since hearing Scott's affirmation that he was on his way back, they hadn't heard anything. Suddenly, John spotted Alan's hoverboard emerging from the dust, and he was flying alone.

"Alan, where's Scott?" Virgil asked anxiously and he heard a sniff from his youngest brother over the intercom, tears couldn't be seen on the holo-image but the youngest's expression broke their hearts.

"Virgil, he fell. I don't know where he went. His com is down," Alan pleaded, desperately gazing up at Thunderbird 2 ahead of him.

Gordon rested his hand on Virgil's shoulder, "if we let go of that rock, Scott is doomed wherever he is. Virgil, what do we do?"

Scott's eyes widened brimming with tears as he stared up at his rescuer, "Dad."

"I've got you, son. Now, what do you say we get out of here?"
