After Sirius Rescue And Snape Tells Lupin's Secret

McGonagall was storming around the castle, fuming. Where was he?! She slammed open doors after doors, the potions classroom, his office, a few random others he could be hiding in and now decided to try the staff room.

She opened the door and saw only Lupin in there. Her eyes, which were red hot with anger, depleted to sadness at the sight of him. "Oh, Remus..."

He looked very down, stirring his coffee slowly. He bowed his head in greeted with a false smile. "Minerva."

"I was... how are you?" She asked concerned.

"Alright. Got my stuff all packed up and that." McGonagall closed the door and went over to him. "Like some coffee or tea?"

She crossed her arms. "That wasn't right of Severus to do. He will get quite reprimanded for it, I'll see to that!"

Lupin shook his head, "From what I've been told, Dumbeldore has already talked to him. It's no problem, anyway. I was only staying for a year while this whole thing with Sirius was going on."

McGonagall starred at him, seeing the sadness at leaving in his eyes and face. She knew he enjoyed working here, that was plain to see.

"You don't want to leave, do you?"

He smirked, "No, not necessarily. But, I must. Time for a new chapter in my life."

McGonagall out a reassuring hand on his shoulder, "I'm sure if you ever decided to come back, Dumbledore would hire you again in a heartbeat. You certainly have been the best defense against the dark arts teacher that we've had in a few years."

Lupin nodded, thanking her. He finished his cup, and after exchanging a final goodbye to her, left.

It wasn't fair, him having to leave in this way. All that has happened wasn't his fault, but Severus couldn't let the past go.

Speaking of Severus... she didn't care whether Dumbledore had told him off or not, he was gonna hear it from her, as well.

She left the staff room and hunted for him again, though with a lot less outward anger.
