Jill sat down, her back against the wall of her office. She stared at her computer monitor, the taxes left unpaid on her desk with the foreclosure notice beside her laying on the floor. She sighed and gripped her hair with both fists, her gun sitting carelessly on her lap.
The bank just gave her the foreclosure on her family house, despite her being the sister of a Rescue Hero. She's been trying to keep up with payments without letting Jack know, but it was hard. Her personal life was taking a toll as well. Her girlfriend was in the hospital because of a deadly car crash that left her in a coma.
She tried to be her rock, holy shit did she try. Her team on the Texas Fire Brigade only knew the basics of how bad her depression was, but never how stressed she was. It hurt, lying to her twin brother, but she didn't really have a choice.
Her parents would be ashamed and confused as to why she taking this road, but right at the moment, it just felt right. She picked up her phone, her tears falling down her cheeks. With a sharp intake of breath, she dialed Wendy's number.
"Wendy Waters," the husky voice told Jill she was asleep. With a few calming breaths, she spoke.
"Hey, Wendy," She said, wiping some tears away. She could hear the older woman immediately sitting up, deeply concerned.
"Jill, what's wrong?" she asked. Only if I told you sooner, the Hammer thought gloomily.
"Nah, nothing's wrong. Say, how's Jack?" she started tearing up again. If only he knew how much pain and stress she was under. It was bad enough she was leaving the only family she truly had left.
"He's...He's doing fine. Jill seriously, what the hell is wrong?" Wendy's voice got a little louder, as she kept pushing Jill to tell her.
But, she couldn't. No matter how much she wanted to, she just couldn't.

Wendy stood and started to pace. She balled her hair from the stress with a fist, getting more and more worried by the second for the Texan woman. She knew about Amelia, and how she ended up in a coma from the deadly car crash.
Immediately with that thought in mind, she stopped, abruptly. "Motherfucker!" she growled, running out of her room, startling her girlfriend, Ariel. She ran down to Billy's room and pounded on the door.
He opened the door and winced as the lights attacked his eyes. Groaning, he rubbed them, before blinking again. "Wendy? It's two in the morning" he whispered.
"It's Jill. We gotta go. I think she's about to commit suicide" Wendy's breathing was frantic. Billy's slumber was erased as soon as the last words came out of her mouth.
"Get the others up" he ordered. Wendy nodded and left.

Jill looked at the gun in her hand. She felt hopeless and alone. It was scary, she realized. Terrifying even. But she already made up her mind, she wasn't backing out.
The sound of the Hyper Jet was miles away in her opinion, but that didn't stop her from putting the gun to her head. "I'm sorry, Jack. I tried" she said, her breath shaking. With the stillness of breath, she pulled the trigger. A loud bang ricochetted throughout the house and into the night air, and into the ears of her own twin brother.

"No!" Jack cried, running full speed towards his sister, the others running after him. His angry sobs broke through, only making the Rescue Heroes realize, they were too late. One by one, they stopped at the door that lead to Jill's office and fell to their knees.
Jill's body laid there against the wall, her brains splattered against it, the blood still fresh from her taking her own life just moments before.
Jack crawled over to the body but was unable to touch it. "Why? Why?" was all he could cry, as he punched the floor. His friends cried. All they could do was cry.
For one of their own, a member of their growing family committed suicide. For whatever reason, she did.
