Jenny woke up in Jacobs arms the next morning. It had been everything she had hoped for. She knew it would be even harder for them to be apart now they felt so much closer. Jenny couldn't imagine leaving that room and going back out to the rest of the world. Just the two of them felt like perfection. Luckily her Mom thought she was stopping at a friend's house so she didn't have to worry too much about leaving so soon. Jenny tried to ease herself out of bed but Jake's arms just tightened around her.
"Where are you going?" He asked sleepily.
"I was going to make us breakfast" She replied.
"You're hungry?" He asked sitting up "I'll get you something what else do you need?"
"I can do it" She giggled but touched that he was so concerned about what she needed.
"I didn't know you could cook" He said raising an eyebrow in disbelief.
"Every self-respecting Humphrey knows how to make waffles and chilliā¦not much else" She retorted smacking his arm playfully.
"Ok so you do the waffles and I'll make the bacon" He suggested.
"Deal" She agreed.
Jenny stared in disbelief at the mountain of bacon Jacob was piling up it was like he cooked a whole pig. She made sure she made twice as many waffles as she normally would for two people. Feeding Jacob was the same as cooking for six.
"You know what these aren't that bad" He said taking a small bite at first.
"Shut up you know they're awesome" She said rolling her eyes as he scoffed down the rest of his breakfast in under a minute.
"So will our kids have waffles every day?" He asked
"You think about stuff like that?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
"You know your my soul mate, so not right away but yeah in the future I'd like to think about that" He replied with a shy smile.
At 16 if anyone else had said that it would have been creepy but because it was Jacob saying it, it sounded like perfection. Her soul mate who adored her, would do anything for her and thought about their lives together.
"Sure in the far off future I'd make waffles every day and my Dad's famous chilli on special occasions" She giggled.
"My dad will be back soon" He said looking at the clock.
Jenny looked down at herself she was wearing Jacobs t-shirt.
"I should maybe change" She said.
"Stay with me today?" He asked.
"I need to go home and get changed but then I can come back" She replied.
"I wish you could stay here all the time" He sighed.
"So do I but I'm 16 my Mom might not be too happy with that" She pointed out.
Jenny tried to sneak back into the house to get changed but it was no good her Mom was stood in the hallway when she opened the door.
"Hi Mom" She greeted acting as casual as possible.
"You're grounded" Alison replied without another word she turned and walked through into the kitchen.
"Mom I'm sorry I was out with Agnes" She pleaded.
"Well you didn't call so you're still grounded" Alison told her.
"But I was going to go see Jacob" She replied.
"You're not going anywhere" Alison said a little more loudly this time.
"But.." She started.
"Jennifer Tullulah Humphrey you stayed out all night, no call no nothing and you're surpised to be grounded and trying to argue with me?!" Alison exploded gong into full on Mom rant mode.
Jenny just sighed and headed upstairs. She knew her Mom was going to work later on she would just sneak out later. It would get her into more trouble but it would be worth it.
