It was lunch time at Seigetsu Academy, and the Archery Club meeting about the upcoming practice match had ended. Kinose Azusa had invited a fellow member of the club, and the only resident female student of the academy, Yahisa Tsukiko to lunch. Miyaji Ryunosuke, the vice-captain, hearing that they were heading to the cafeteria, decided to tag along as well as their captain, Kanakubo Homare.
Chatting as they walked, they arrived in no time at the cafeteria. However, it was pretty full and lunch was close to ending. They spotted seats enough for four – a stroke of luck – and while Tsukiko was trying to remember what she did with her wallet, the others all grabbed their food. When Tsukiko, realizing she left her wallet back in the classroom, agonized over what to do.
In the end, Azusa, Ryunosuke, and Homare all offered to split their lunches with her. Azusa had special packaged food that was something of a nutritional meal for the Space department training, Ryunosuke had sweets that had vegetables in it – he claimed that was nutritional content, but that was debatable – and Homare had a special reserved meal. It all looked delicious to Tsukiko, and she was at a loss of what to do. Each fellow Archery Club member had their own reasons why she should share with them, and they started to lean in in anticipation.
Tsukiko, nervously glancing at the food, and then at her surroundings, she spotted a familiar face. Her whole face lit up like a Christmas tree, and the three excited boys at her table traced her line of sight to see one of her classmates and childhood friends (they had seen him around the Archery Club sometimes talking to her) Tohzuki Suzuya.
When she waved him down, she told him about her circumstances. As it turns out, he had been looking for her because he had made her some lunch. Gratefully accepting, she chirped out a thank you and turned around to eat.
Strangely enough, all three of the boys at her table were wearing disgruntled and disappointed expressions. Ryunosuke forcefully stabbed some of his cake and threw it into his mouth. Azusa muttered something under his breath that Tsukiko couldn't hear.
"All three of us are at a disadvantage. Wasn't expecting that."
"What?"
"Nooothing."
Homare quickly shifted his expression back to his normal, gentle smile.
"Shall we eat?" he asked, successfully diverting Tsukiko's attention away.
Though she couldn't help thinking, what on earth was wrong with them?
A/N: This takes place July 15th, when Tsukiko was forced to share lunch with one of the boys, in case any of you have played the PSP version of the game.
