Insanity (jeff the killer horror story) Chapter 3
AN: Sorry about the long way! Onward to chapter 3!
It's the night of the rave. After telling mother and father I was going to bed, I shoot Marlon a text to come in an hour so I can get a chance to prepare or the night. Suddenly, I hear noises coming from the Keaton home; sounds like here's some problems in that house after all. Maybe that was the feeling I had when something wasn't right.
The hour passes and Marlon arrives with a few upper class-men. I sneak out from my window, which is on the bottom part of the house and I shut the window. I get with the gang and we make a run to it. We don't have a car and some of the upper class-men have, well let's say, a record. They are starting to light cigarettes,
"This rave is gonna be awesome! And in a cornfield too!" Marlon says, being so stoked about this. Don't ask me how she would know where the events are taking place. She lights a cigarette, hands me one, "Here, take one!" I hesitate, I haven't had a smoke since Jake was born. This is a first time I smoked in almost a year.
"Yeah, what the hell." I take it and light it up.
After close to a half hour walk, we make it to the outside of town; like Marlon said, it's in a cornfield. Tire tracks have left marks on the dirt, showing everyone the way. The crops are high, so it's pretty easy to get lost if in a hurry. Lucky for us, there are security guards that point us the correct way. We are getting close to the stage as music reaches to our ears. Now this is what I'm talking about!
Crowd is everywhere, people are doing the marsh pit, music is blaring, this is a great way to spend the weekend. The others head out towards the stage to party on, I head to the outside bar to get drinks, signalling the guy that I want 3 drinks; for the other's. Not so much for me. I feel a tap and it's Marlon.
"I'll take them!" I hand the drinks to Marlon and she leaves. I turn back to the bartender, he's serving other party goers; that's fine. It gives me some time to myself. Still, should I even be out here? I can't really put my own priorities, huh?
The local heavy metal band, Seize Darkness, are rocking on the stage, music blaring, my ears start to ring. A massive headache is splitting and I can't focus. I'm roughly shoved by a bunch o people, knocking me down to the ground. My ears are ringing louder, I look up, people are running out of panic. I get up, sliding from the spilled drinks on the ground. I cover my ears,
"MARLON? MARLON!?" People are pushing and shoving to escape, the band on stage jump off as well, leaving their equipment behind. I run, tripping over something hard. I look and it's a dead body. A murder. Someone just murdered a person. Her neck has been slit cut open. I turn, covering my mouth from wanting to puke from the sight. I stand really fast, it doesn't matter which way as long as I can get the fuck out of here. To everyone's shock and sudden reactions, a big fire burst from the cornfield. I jump back quickly before my arm gets caught in the flames. Three, four, fi - SIX people are running in my direction; they are in panic and in hysteria. They are victims too, screaming and pleading for help. One guy is completely covered in flames. These poor, innocent people and these images. This is horrific. I run the other way, needing to get out.
"MARLON! MARLON!" I see another body, the upper torso is peeking out from the mouth of the cornfield. Those clothes, the hair style, I freeze in paralysis...
It's Marlon.
I'm mortified..
"No! No, no, no, no, NOO!" I run to her, I drag her out of the cornfield by her arms, I flip her over...her neck has been slit cut too...deep clean...
She was murdered too...
I look down at her lower torso...her black and white checkered skirt is bloody and her leggings and underwear are pulled down half way to her knees. On her underwear and her skirt close to her privates were blood as well. I crawl to look at her legs by her groin area; there's blood there too.
She was raped.
I look up to the sky, covered in black smoke,
"MARLON!"
Of course, it's no surprised that someone calls the cops and the EMTs out here. I'm sitting in the back of the ambulance, a soft grey blanket is on my back, I can't shake the feeling off of me. I look at my hands, covered in Marlon's blood. My best friend is dead. How do I go back to school on Monday, knowing my only friend in the world is dead. She didn't deserved to be raped. She didn't deserved to be murdered. I swear. I'll find whoever did this to you. I turn and I see where Marlon's body is, covered by a white sheet from the ambulance. A flash flick form the cornfield catches my eye. I see something there, but my eyes are so fuzzy and blurry from crying so hard, it's hard to make out what the object is.
"JANE!" I turn, my mom and dad run to me, hugging me really tightly. Mom cups her hands around my face, "Sweetie, are you alright? Talk to me!"
"I'm not okay, Mom. I'm not. Marlon is dead." My voice has no life anymore. It's monotone. Mom pulls me into her chest.
"I know, I know. I'm so, so sorry." Dad pats my head,
"Do you have any idea how much trouble you are in?"
"Lyle, please. Marlon is dead. Please cut Jane some slack." She pets my head. I snuggle closer to Mom.
"Mommy..."
"Mr. and Mrs. Arkinsaw?" We look and see a police officer in uniform. "We need Jane to come down to the station. We have some questions to ask."
"She's not under arrest, is she?" My Father asks.
"Innocent until proven guilty. She is close to the victim, Marlon Lerisen." I open my eyes and stare at the officer.
'You dare accuse me of murdering my best friend? Let's just see how this will go.'
