Buffy POV:

I knew I should be listening to Carlisle and Giles talking about the Vol something or other. It was more evil coming for me. What difference did it make?

My brain was preoccupied thinking about the night I'd spent with Edward. Both of us finally giving in. I remembered the night in vivid detail knowing that Edward could see my thoughts. I smirked seeing his eyes darken. If he was going to read my thoughts I might as well, make them interesting.

"So, these people only know about me?" I asked "No one else"

"As far as we can tell" Alice nodded.

"Then we need to keep it that way" I said "You guys can't be involved; the Cullen's can train me on killing their kind"

"I'm hoping we can end this peacefully, just explain to Aro that Buffy is in a way supernatural herself and no threat to our kind" Carlisle explained.

"You think he'll hear slayer and not want to hurt or keep her?" Edward asked.

"As long as Dawn and the others are safe, I don't care, if I have to fight I fight" I told them "It's what I do"

I could see that Edward wanted to say more but I silently begged him not to. Yes, we were close now, but this was what being a slayer was all about. Just as surely as he would never age and live on, I was destined to die young. Slayer's didn't have a long-life expectancy. I was already one of the longest lasting thanks to magical intervention. I shouldn't even be here so if I can save the others who had gone above and beyond for me then I had no problem with that.

Edward POV:

I couldn't bare to listen to Buffy talk with Carlisle about the Voultouri. I knew exactly what Aro was like. He was a collector. If he didn't kill Buffy, he would want to turn her, curious of the gifts of someone like her. Alice still could not see the outcome as things were always changing or Aro was being careful against her gift.

I hated that Buffy was so willing to sacrifice herself. She claimed it was her birthright. But she had already died twice. There were other slayers out there. I didn't know why she would not bring them here to fight as well.

He loved and hated her need to protect those around her.

"I'll train you" I said finally breaking the silence.

"If Aro finds out…" Alice warned.

"I don't care, Buffy needs to be prepared and if he tries to hurt her, I'll kill him myself" I told her.

I already loved her. If she were to die, then I would have no reason to be here. I felt like I had been waiting for her all this time.

"Then we will all train and fight if we need to" Carlisle said standing up.

I was only looking at Buffy. She was concerned for all of us but especially for me. She had to know that I would always fight by her side. She might apricate life anymore, but she deserved a peaceful one after everything she had been through. Her family and friends needed her as did I. Knowing us had put her at risk so we have to do everything we can to help her.
