[She dragged herself back into the fan fiction zone, her nails digging into the door as she soon burst through it and fell face first -face plant- sits up and dusts off and such, dusting her writing pen off as well.] Hello everyone, been a while I know well beyond a while over a couple years in fact -Squirms and hides- DON'T HATE ME for those who remember this story, though my life fell to pieces rather rapidly shortly after I last posted here and is still in pieces. -le sigh- Having issues all over the place though decided maybe a bit of writing would perk me up. Chapter 23- Beneath the water's caress

"What do you mean it is MY fault? I am not her baby sitter, she is your girl friend dog boy." Sesshomaru's glare only deepened on the wolf before him. It had been near a hour since Kagome had disappeared within the watery depths and no sign of her since. The only rippling of the water caused by the steady stream of liquid cascading from the falls above. "You were closes to her, I was several feet away, you could have caught her before she had been lured in." Sesshomaru stated flatly, not at all amused by these turn of events. Neither himself or Kouga could pass through the portal as the female did. It was closed to them, which only furthered his annoyance. ****

Kagome tried opening her eyes, but her world spinning only made her close them once more. Her whole body screamed in protest as she pried herself from a stone cold floor. Her form soon sitting up and she brought her hands to her head, attempting to recall what the hell was going on. Collecting her thoughts she soon remembered the waterfall and… Sesshomaru. Her eyes flew open and she was greeted with a dim room, candles lit, casting dancing shadows among the area. The room was empty except tapestries that covered what she assumed stone walls. Not a door in sight for pete's sake , where in the seven seas am I? Rising to her unstable feet she soon found her balance and began walking about, her fingers sliding along the smooth stoned surfaces of the room; searching for anyway out. She had to get out of here, she had to get back to Sesshomaru so she could get back to her own time. A sob caught in her throat, she supposed the strain of all that had occurred had finally clasped on her emotions. Her fists rose and slammed upon the solid stones which still didn't budge. She found herself sinking down to her knees with a heavy sigh. How come I always end up in these situations? If I was stronger, had more control of my abilities…if only I could be more like my friends and maybe then none of this would have happened…I wouldn't have lost the future and wouldn't be scrambling the past…The tears fell silently down her face for several minutes as she continued to feel sorry for herself. Kagome didn't even look up when a flash of light engulfed a near by corner of the room.

"You cry for things you can't currently control, and have no reason to cry over." The gentle but firm feminine voice echoed the room's walls. "Rise Kagome." It was a gentle order meaning no more tears, no more fears, you are strong enough to handle what is happening and what will come. With a long drawn out sigh she did as asked and forced her legs to stand her up. Kagome soon laid eyes upon a woman who was dressed in a simple green and blue laced kimono, her blonde hair falling across dainty but set shoulders. Her icy blue eyes danced in merriment, her ruby red lips holding a light smirk which was plastered against her pale skin.

"You are here Kagome because I bid you to come. I am of a Fae heritage and I hold many gifts. My gifts have whispered and told me of your life, of your current plight. I brought you here to give you warnings and words of hope." Kagome only stood stalk still, not really sure if to rely or not, she just waited for the odd woman to continue her words. "You will need your friends, the two demons that is. Sesshomaru and Kouga; they are rough around the edges but after a while they will grow quite fond of you as all your friends are. You will require much of their assistance, even though they are fairly young this journey will alter their lives and your own, they are strong and will help you when you most need it. Many dangerous paths await you soon enough, trust them, they will come through for you. Also remember, nothing is what it seems, people are not always who they appear, or play to be. Here catch this." With a gentle flick of her wrist a shiny object was vaulted into the air toward Kagome, and said priestess reached out soon catching the smooth metal object. Opening her fingers Kagome found it to be a silver rock shaped metal stone, it had several odd craved symbols upon the surface. "That in time you will find out what use it is to you, but don't lose it. With time and patience I am sure you will make it back to the times you desire to return to. Time is dwindling and I must return you to the above plane. I can not place you back where you entered, but it will be within range of your companions. Companions, HA Sesshomaru probably thinks I am nothing but trouble and half looney, and Kouga well he loves humans about as much as the future Sesshomaru, I'm doomed I knew it! With another flick of her slender pale wrist another sudden bright blue light consumed the room momentarily before settling down to a dim glow shaped like a semi arched doorway which waved unsteadily. "That is your way back, have faith in yourself and your instincts, they will guide you and you will need them, now go take the door and don't lose focus." Within a slight second the mysterious woman vanished and Kagome was left with the portal. Taking a deep breath she stepped into the awaiting swirling energies , her fingers clinching about the metal stone she had received and she soon found herself being blinded by the familiar yellow sun.

Clinching her eyes closed she took a few more steps and soon the energies about her form faded. After several moments she braved up enough to open her gaze to be back in the forest, though in a peaceful clearing that was covered in smooth earthy green moss. "Sesshomaru?" She called out in questioned, her gaze scanning the area. "Kouga?" Now that is getting desperate… "SESSHOMARU." She half shouted out , her nerves a bit on edge when not getting any sort of response. Within a few more moments not far off several branches cracking under weight and ruffling in brush was heard. She stilled, her breath caught. A bit dumb of you Kagome now you could have called half the forest to you…stupid, stupid, stupid! Another large snap of a twig and she turned in the direction. "Sesshomaru?' She questioned in a near whisper this time, hoping it was him. Though she soon got a response she didn't want. "Sssorry human….not your Sseshomaru…"

Her body only tensed more so at the sound of a unfamiliar not so friendly voice.

"Wwhoo… and where are you?" Her own voice trembling , her body on edge. " I am Kenmori, the ssserpent lord and I am close enough to tassste you human." She heard a light chuckles under his words which caused her to jump about three feet to her left. " I haven't had human in a while…it will be a pleasssant change to the dinner meal." Kagome swallowed hard, her senses going crazy, her legs wanting to just sprint into high gear but she stayed in place. "I'm afraid I am not very tasty, skin and bones you know. " She managed to squeak out. "Ssstill tasty all the same to me." Though before the snake could get closer she felt a sudden burst of youkai energy that she recognized. Sesshomaru, hurry up…. She thought to herself as she knew it was him, he must have felt her presence or heard her yell. Her attention was soon drawn back to the snake who was gradually moving toward her and soon his large head appeared from the bushes, with his yellow demonic gaze. "Wish to play a game, human? I'll give you a head sstart to run if you like, I love the sssmell of rushing blood as I eat my prey whole."
