The Children
A/N: Here's chapter 2, I hope you all enjoy and I own nothing but the two made up girls and some of the plot.
Chapter 2:
(Sophie's P.O.V)
It's been about two hours since Daddy left for his meeting with the others and big brother left to go patrol with uncle Jared, I just finished watching my favorite movie Mulan when I decided to go ask my mom if I could go outside so I ran into the kitchen where she was making lunch
"Hey mommy can I go outside and play for a while, please" she looked down at me and smiled
"Sure baby girl but don't run off too far now dinner will be ready soon" I nodded in agreement and hugged her before I took off out the back door and into the woods, I carefully pulled off my sundress and tied it to my leg before I phased; I was thankful I couldn't hear the others in my head like daddy and big brother could, I can only talk to someone in my wolf form when I'm speaking directly to them otherwise my thoughts are usually to myself.
I was even more thankful because I didn't want to have to listen to Jacob and his friends call me monster and a freak all the time like they always did when they see me, sometimes I really wish I was big enough to tear them apart but for now I leave all of the fighting to my family; I was so lost in though I didn't realize that I was completely lost, I looked around for anything familiar but unfortunately I didn't recognize anything and thanks to my vampire half my scent always blend with the woods so I couldn't follow my own scent back, just then I smelt a very strange scent so I decided to follow it
'Hopefully who ever this is can help me find my way home' I thought to myself, as I followed the scent I came across a small pond and I decided to get a drink before I began my search again.
Just as I finished drinking I heard a rustling sound coming from a bush across from me so I got into attack position just in case it was a bad guy, all of a sudden a girl about my age came out with her hands held out showing me she wasn't a threat
"Please don't attack me, I'm not here to fight my name is Kairi Cullen" she said as she sat down on the grass across from me with her hands still out, I ran into the bushes behind me to phase back and after I put on my dress I came back to were I was just standing
"I'm Sophie Uley, why do you smell like a leech but have a heartbeat" I asked as I too sat in the grass facing the girl
" I'm half vampire and half human, my father was a vampire who was mated to a human" I smile at her
"I know how that is, there's a guy that lives near my family that loves to remind me that I'm not really a part of them, that I'm a monster because I'm half shape-shifter and half vampire" I said sadly, the other girl looked sad too before she smiled and jumped up causing me to flinch at the sudden movement
"Let play a game" she said cheerfully, I nodded as I slowly stood up; she taped me on the shoulder saying 'Your it' before she took off into the woods giggling, I took my dress back off and tied it to my leg again as I phased and took off after her.
I caught up to her a few minutes later and I tackled her from behind and we began to play fight, all of a sudden my brother and father burst through the woods growling at my new friend so I quickly got in front of her to protect her
"Brother calm down we were just playing, this is my new friend Kairi Cullen' I waited until they both nodded to me before I sighed, my father ran behind a tree and phased so he could talk to my friend.
While they were talking I quickly phased as well and I had just put on my dress when a very beautiful man came running up to us calling for Kairi
"That's my big brother Emmett Cullen" Kairi said as she ran over to the big guy hugging him, I stood beside my father trying to hid when he introduced himself to the new man
"It's nice to meet you again Cullen, I would like to introduce you to my daughter Sophie it appears that or girls have decided to become friends" my father said laughing
"It's great to see you again Sam, Paul" he looked at me with a smile and I could feel my cheeks becoming red
"And its nice to meet you too Sophie" he said as he stuck his hand out for me to shake, I felt a strange vibration shoot through my body when our hands meet.
(Sam's P.O.V)
As the kids played a short distance away with Paul watching over them Emmett and I decided to have a talk
"Hey Sam can I ask you a question" Em asked me looking more serious then I've ever seen him
"You want to know why Sophie is half vampire" I asked when he nodded I sighed sadly as I began telling him about the events that happened nine years ago and about what happened at the meeting earlier, I almost jumped when I heard him growl softly as not to interrupt the kids
"I'm glad that Paul got rid of that ass hole, I'm just worried about the bitch that got away if she ever shows her face around here I hope she gets what she deserves, and how come they are forcing you off your own land I thought once you guys phase then you were stuck on the reservation permitly"
"They wanted to kick my daughter off the res so I told them that if she goes then so do Paul and I, we were just heading home to pack when I my wife told me that our daughter wasn't answering her call outs so we took off to look for her"
"That's stupid they think that you would just abandon your child just because some old geezers tell you too, I wish I could go there and rip their throats out" he said and I nodded in agreement, I looked up at the sky and saw that it was getting late so I called for the kids telling them that it was time to head home so we could pack.
Everyone said there good byes before the three of us phased so we could head back home, unfortunately when we reached my back yard we found Jacob standing there looking smug so we quickly phased back putting on our clothes so I could confront him
"Sophie I want you to go inside and stay with your mother until Paul or I come to get you" she nodded as she ran into the house, I turned to Jacob just as the door closed
"What are you doing on my property Black"
"I just wanted to let you know that the elders have ordered that you and Paul are to remain here in La Push as you have sworn to do"
"Have they changed their minds about my daughter" I asked standing tall showing him that I wasn't backing down
"No that devil spawn is still banished from our lands, besides she's not even your real child she's nothing more then a devil spawn who should have been killed the moment it was born" he said evilly, I grabbed him and punched him repeatedly once I was done Paul did the same until he laid broken on the lawn
"I want you off of my property Black, you can run back like the bitch you are to the elders and tell them they can take their sworn oath and shove it up their asses; Paul and I swore to protect the people of La Push but since the elders seem to want to pick and choose who we are to protect then we will leave that up to you and your little band of merry men" I said as I walked past him towards the house as I heard Paul say something to him too
"You heard him Black get moving before I tear you to shreds right here and now" I smiled when I heard Paul's pants rip and I knew he must have phased to show Black we weren't playing
"You'll both pay for this, remember if the bitch is still here tomorrow morning then me and the pack will attack" he said as he ran off with his tail tuck between his legs with Paul following closely behind him.
When I walked inside I found my wife and daughter on the floor crying so I pulled them into my arms to comfort them, after a little while Paul came back and we decided to sit together as a family to eat; after dinner Paul took Sophie up to her room and he helped her pack as Em and I went to our room and began packing as well as I told her why we had to leave.
"Damn those fools, what does Jacob have against our daughter she's never done a thing to him and she would never attack anyone heck she's been phasing for over a month now and we've never had a problem with her" my mate said as she paced the bedroom angrily, I took her into my arms to calm her
"I know my love but I swear to you that I will make it right somehow but for now we have to focus on getting out of here and to somewhere safer until I can come up with a ideal" I smiled when she leaned up to kiss me
"I love you and I'm so proud of you for standing up for our family" I kissed her back happily
"I always will, I love you both more then life it's self" I said before we went back to packing anything we wanted to take, after everything was done Paul and I took the stuff to my truck and placed them in the bed just as Jared walked up to us; I explained what happened at the meeting and he blow up
"I can't believe those old fools, if it wasn't for Kim and her family living here on the res I would join you guys" I walked over to him and placed my hand on his shoulder
"I know brother but you should stay here, I don't want Jacob to do anything to you or your imprint just do me a favor and keep yourselves out of trouble and if anything happens please let me or Paul know" he nodded his promise before he took off back to his place
"I'm going to miss him" Paul said as he placed the last luggage in the back
"I'll miss him too" I said just as Emily and Sophie came out and we jumped into the truck taking off towards Seattle to find a hotel to stay at for now.
