There was no sound to made made. Both Navis locked eyes with one another.
"Excuse me?" Bass-Cross spoke, breaking the silence.
"You're MegaMan aren't you!?" Proto yelled.
"Hmmm...why do you ask such a question?"
Protoman looked at him through his visor stunted by the answer he was given.
"Well we are wasting time here. I only came by to see the daughter of this MegaMan" Bass-Cross looked at him with emotionless eyes.
ProtoMan Looked at him now knowing that is long time partner was right in front of him and could not believe that he had been under their noses. The question now, however, was how MegaMan had Bass's power, Before he could think any longer Bass-Cross struck him in the arm. The slash he gave Proto severed his arm, causing him to yell in pain.
"That looked like it hurt." Bass-Cross said in a sinister smile.
"Recovery Chip in!" Chaud called out, but nothing happened.
"Do you really think that I would let you activate battle chips?" Bass-Cross said looking at him.
"Dr. Hikari, did you find a way to log out, Roll and Soul?" Mayl asked in fear.
"No, not yet." Dr. Hikari grunted while wiring with the computer..
"Not to be putting you under anymore pressure, but hurry up, ProtoMan isn't going to last much longer." Said Chaud in a haisty voice.
"I need a little more time." Dr. Hikari's face was now covered in sweat. Trying to reroute wires and being pressured by Chaud was not helping, or going to make him go any faster.
Back in the digital word ProtoMan was struggling to keep up with Bass-Cross. Every attempt he made to strike Bass-Cross with his sword he would just disappear from sight and appear behind him.
"Pathetic, I hoped that you would have improved." Bass-Cross, who was now behind him lifted his arm and a energy sword appeared from it. He slashed him across his back.
"Gagh!" Proto yelled in pain and fell to the ground.
Bass-Cross looked down onto his body for a moment before raising his arm again and bringing it down, but as soon as the blade was about to hit, ProtoMan was logged out.
He stood there in silence before looking over to where Roll and Soul were. Only to see that they were no longer there.
"That was close."
Chaud, who managed to get his navi out in time. Sighed in relief. Dr. Hikari managed to get Roll and Soul out safely. ProtoMan was heavily damaged was out of commision was instantly given recovery chips.
Mayl was happy that Soul and Roll were safely back in her PET. She looked onto the screen to see that the little navi had her head buried into her mother's chest. Roll, was looking back Maly with eyes of a scared mother.
The moment couldn't last very long, because Dr. Hikari ordered them to leave the premises and find somewhere safe. The two made a run for it, but were stopped as soon as they exited the building by a dimensional area.
"Not again." Said Chaud.
"Oh? I thought you would be happy to see me again after a long time." A voice came from above them. It was Kent and he was already cross-fused with Bass-Cross. He began to descend towards the until he was hit by a capsule shaped explosive.
"I came to visit the child and expected a normal encounter, but what i come to see is an attack on SciLabs. Then again when isn't it getting attacked." Another voice came from their right.
It was Jasmine, and she was cross-fused with Medi. She materialized two more capsules and threw them at Bass-Cross. Mayl and Chaud took this chance to escape and hide.
"I may not be able to defeat him, but I can buy enough time for Chaud to transform." Jasmine thought to herself while keeping Kent blinded by the explosives.
Meanwhile, Chaud and Mayl hid in a storage unit far away from the battle.
"ProtoMan are you feeling better?"
"Yes, I feel better."
"Let do it!"
ProtoMan nodded in agreement.
"Synco chip in!"
In a blinding light Chaud and ProtoMan fused together. When the light died down Chaud was now in ProtoMan's armor.
"Good luck, Chaud" Mayl said to Chaud.
"Mr. Famous, are we getting closer?"
Dr. Hikari and Mr. Famous were getting a secret weapon online. It was a energy disrupter that would deactivate a dimensional area outside of their control. It was made for encounters such as this one. It was under secret development after Kent and Bass-Cross were able to summon them on command.
"Just a few more seconds! We haven't been able to test it out properly."
A few beeps and boops went off on the computer.
"It's ready!"
"Fire!"
Chaud and Jasmine were getting tired out. Kent wasn't even breaking a sweat. To him this was just child's play. He was just toying with them until they were too tired to even move, and that's when he would strike.
All of a sudden a ray of energy hit the wall of the dimensional area. It caused it to dematerialize. Everything went went back to normal.
"It's over" Said Chaud as his armor dematerialized and his PET appeared.
"You really think i wasn't prepared for this?" Kent said with a smirk.
A small dimensional area surrounded him and he teleported away.
"He'll be back sooner or later."
Kent ended up in a secret facility outside the city.
"Thanks for that." Kent said to Obsidi, who was the one controlling the areas. Originally Kent set them up himself with a timer. With her it was easy for him to get in and get out.
"So, what happened?" She asked.
"They finally got their weapon up and running."
"Well, we won't need to worry about that soon."
Obsidi was developing a new type of dimensional area. One that couldn't be penetrated or destroyed by anything.
"Good" Kent said as he walked into the darkness.
