In an abandoned warehouse, outside of the city was a dark room with the only light source being a computer monitor and a few flashing lights from a server.
A few clicking sounds could be heard coming from the computer. Obsidi was typing in a few codes for their new dimensional area. This was to be their new weapon. Kent didn't know why she was helping him. She offered her services to him and Bass-Cross after finding out their whole deal. Bass-Cross wanted to get rid of her immediately but, she proved herself useful after showing them her programming skills. Her excuse was that she could use the practice.
Next to her was a small cube that was hooked up to various wires of different colors and thickness. It was blue with some silver covering its edges. It was small enough to fit in your hand.
Bass-Cross appeared suddenly on her screen.
"Is it ready?"
She looked at him with a smile before speaking. "We just need a test."
"Good," With that Bass-Cross dematerialized from her screen.
They had known that SciLabs would develop an anti-weapon that could destroy any Dimensional area. So, they had come up with a way to keep an area up and running even after being hit with a bast like it. Since normally a dimensional area was left by its self after being set up and only had a limited amount of energy to keep itself up. It had been done before but to a global scale. They only needed a small part.
The Syncro chip they had didn't need an area field but it only had a small limited about of power to keep them fused and could only be sued a certain number of times per week. So it wasn't reliable in a long battle.
Everyone was still recovering from the attack that just happened. Maylu looked down to her PET to see Roll holding Soul in her arms. She had her face buried in mothers chest whimpering about the scary navi.
"How long are we going to keep doing this?" asked Maylu looking up from the PET. She was terrified that they'd keep getting ambushed by Kent over and over again until he had won.
"We are looking everywhere at this very moment, " said Laika who was looking at a laptop with different reports on the screen. Hoping for something new to come in.
"It doesn't feel like it."
Dr Hikari walked over to Maylu hoping to comfort her.
"I know its hard when it seems we might never get Lan back." he looked at her in the eyes " but you need to realise that I'm also scared that I'll get my son back."
She looked back down to her PET and received a look back from Roll. She looked back at him with a look of acknowledgement.
Meanwhile in her PET Roll was comforting her Child who was calming down but still whimpered a bit. The fear finally reached the child after escaping the attack. She refused to open her eyes or remove herself from her mother in fear of seeing the dark Navi again.
Roll had no idea on what to do in this situation as it was not ever expected for a Navi to have a child let alone care for one since they were ready to serve at the get-go. She had only gotten advice from Lan's own mother along with Maylu's.
"sweetie look at mommy," She said still unsure on what to say next, "I know you're still scared on what but you were very brave to stand up to the scary Navi. Not a lot of other Navis could do the same thing."
The little Navi looked up to her. And smiled a bit
"You think so?"
"I know so"
Kent was sitting down on a bench in the middle of a park smiling at the scenic view of trees and children playing with watchful parent s looking after them.
Not because of how peaceful it was, but what was going to happen next.
He took out the blue cube from his satchel and admired its beauty. He then pressed a button and threw it up into the air. It went higher than the boy's throw would have you believe. It reached a hundred feet into the air before it sent an energy wave and then a dimensional area being formed.
"Cross-Fusion" Kent yelled and was covered in a blinding light. When the light died down he then proceeded to fire at every possible direction. Everyone was scrambling to get away but found themselves trapped by the dimensional field.
He pointed his blaster at the helpless victims ready to fire. He led it out but did nothing.
Why aren't I firing?
His thought was cut short but the sound of a blast hitting the dimensional area. He looked over to where it hit. He grinned at the unsuccessful attempt to bring down his dimensional area.
Chaud, Jasmine and Maylu were finally to call it a day and return home.
"Guess there's going to be no follow up to his attack anytime soon."
"I wouldn't say that," said Laika who spoke to Chaud.
"Why's that?"
"He's just been spotted in the park"
"WHAT?!" both girls yelled at Laika's last comment.
They all looked at his screen which showed an aerial image of Kent sitting on a bench not doing anything.
"There's no time to lose."
Chaud and the rest got their PETs and got into his limo. Laika contacted SciLabs to get the cannon ready in case of another dimensional area. Thanks to it they were able to stop Kent from causing more damage than what he already had.
Once inside the limo, they waited with anticipation. It just then occurred to Maylu that they were going in without any sort of plan.
"Do we even have a plan?" Maylu asked. Once they reached him what were they supposed to do after that?
"We neutralize and detain him until we figure out how to bring Lan back." Responded Laika to her question.
Suddenly his intercom rang.
"Yes?... Understood. Chaud, tell your driver to hit it. A dimensional area has been set up"
The limo bolted across the streets and eventually coming into view of the dimensional area. It didn't look any different than any of the previous ones they've encountered. The only thing that was noticeable was a small object sending off blue energy waves from it.
"Mr. Famous, fire" Laika commanded through his intercom.
A beam was seen coming from the direction of SciLabs and quickly hitting the dimensional area expecting it to go down. However, that didn't come to pass. The barrier was still there it was still standing. They couldn't understand what was happening, it should have gone down with the impact of the beam.
They got out of the limo and got as close to the dimensional area and floating a few feet away was CF Bass-Cross. He was looking at them with his eyes out "victory". However, his buster, that was pointing at civilians, was shaking.
The exchange in glares from one another only lasted a few more moments before he turned to raise his hand. The floating cube stopped releasing energy and came down to his hand. He took a quick look back before dematerializing away. The dimensional area came down moments he left.
They were all stun by what had just happened.
