The room seemed so much smaller when there were so many people in it at the same time. Now, normally I wouldn't be a problem having so many people visiting you while you were recovering. But this wasn't a visit from friends and family. There were chairs and a projector in his room.

"Okay, let's review the events that have transpired these last few years," Chaud said holding up a meeting with various netsaviors. They included: Maylu, Jasmine, Laika, and a few others that Lan didn't recognize. The reason for holding up the meeting in Lan's room was mainly because that Lan could not move anywhere and his room was the only one available.

"One Afternoon, about Four years ago, a battle happened between Bass and Megaman." He stated with a slide showing a single shot of Megaman and Bass fighting. "Next, what happened was that they both ended up deleted. Or so we thought at the time." Chaud then moved onto the next slide showing Bass-Cross hovering above NetCity."NetCity was attacked by what appeared to be just Bass at the time." This made Lan look down.

It would have been better if it was truly Bass. Seeing that both Bass and Megaman fused into one Navi was heartbreaking to him. His brother's mind corrupted by Bass' hatred for humans and lust for power was almost unbearable. The only thing that made it so, was the fact that part of him was still conscious. There was some limit to what he would do. But he didn't know for much longer.

"Then during one of his attacks, he brainwashed Lan into becoming our enemy," Chaud continued, "Then we witnessed a cross-fusion by the both of them. Since part of him was Megaman, they were easily able to do so." Chaud took a glass of water and drank it before he could continue. "Then there was no activity from them for the next four years," he moved onto a different slide, "Then another attack took place at SciLabs once again. This time trying to obtain Soul, Megaman's child so to speak, for the sole reason of obtaining her potential power. However, fortunately, he failed, but escaped again."

He went on to the most recent attacks that included: the park, at 'his' apartment and SciLabs again. They ended with his amazing escape.

"Then when he was cornered he was left with an unlikely option. To fuse with Soul." Everyone was listening closely. "While fused he was granted a unique ability to increase the attacks of any battel chip and this included program advance." The slide show ended. "So even now she retains that ability. So it is a priority that she is kept safe from the Bass and Megaman fusion known as Bass-Cross. If he gets a hold of her, who knows what he will be capable of?"

With that, the meeting ended and everyone left except for a few people.

"So, how are you holding up?" Chaud asked.

"Well, apart of feeling a bit annoyed about having so many people in my room when you know I should be resting. I feel better." He said back answering his question. "I should be able to walk around freely by the end of this week." Even though he had recovered energy from being fused he still had his physical injuries to recover. It was mainly his ribs that were healing.

"Well recover soon because we don't know when he'll strike next." He said to Lan as if he could heal on command. "Also, I was told to give you this." Chaud pulled out a device from his briefcase. It was a PET. "You can choose whether or not to accept it."

Lan took the device it was kind of bulky so it didn't look like it was meant to be put into your pocket. He stared at the PET. It had a pink version of Megaman's symbol. It was obvious that Megaman was not going to be the navie that resided in it. So who-?

"We had some trouble trying to find someone who could be her Netop. Since you don't currently have one we chose you to be Soul's Netop." The person who spoke up was his father. "I know you may not want to be her Netop since you lost Hub. But we need someone who can-"

"I'll do it." He interrupted his father. He stared him deep in the eyes. "I'll do whatever it takes to bring him back." his voice was full of determination.

Dr. Hikari nodded in approval of his son's choice.

"By the way, dad, do we have any more curry?" Lan asked with his stomach growling softy.

"What is curry?" A small version of Soul appeared on his shoulder. Which scared the daylights out of him as he yelled.

*In the darknet*

The surrounding area looked like an earthquake had happened. Any path that was there previously was completely missing or was badly damaged. Pure data was leaking from any surface. They only problem was that natural disasters didn't happen in the digital worked unless it was created by someone.

If anyone knew what happened thy would tell you that it was not made by any simulated disaster. That it was made by an out of control navi. However, no one could tell because they were immediately deleted by the raging navi.

"My my my, this is getting out of control." Obsidi was looking at the aftermath of Bass-Cross' rampage. "I expected it to be bad but not this terrible.' she was surprisingly calm. As if expected an outcome like this.

She smiled at what she'd caused. She had poisoned Bass-Cross' mind so that he was reduced to a raging monster that destroyed anything in its path. She had originally planned this to use on CF-Bass-Cross. While she'd slowly gain as much trust with them she was going to do it when he'd gone on his attacks on Scilabs. Then move onto the city where she would unleash him. And with the cube, nothing could stop him.

Obviously, she was never able to put that plan forward. So she did the next best thing: destroying the cyber world. With it gone it would cause so much chaos. Stocks would crash, businesses would fail, and people's money would vanish. The world would be sent to another great depression.

"Am I taking this too far?" She asked to no one in particular. She reached the end of her desk for a small capsule. She swallowed it before resuming her work. "Maybe."

"So… what do you like to do in your free time?" Lan asked the small navi that was currently sitting on his shoulder. He was currently trying to bond with his niece. If felt weird that he was now an Uncle. As a matter of fact, why did she call his dad uncle too? Wouldn't it make sense to call him Grandpa?

"Um…" She put her finger on her lower lip. "Well, I play with mom and uncle Guts," Great… another uncle, "and I remove my helmet." The last one caught him off guard.

"Wait you can do that." He was baffled by this. They closest Megaman was able to do so was by going Hub mode. But even then he was glowing completely blue. Which was hard to see his hair.

"Yeah. Want me to show you?" She said eagerly. He nodded in response. She grabbed on the sides of her helmet. But instead of it coming off cleanly it was a small struggle with the antennas on her head. They were not a part of her helmet. Instead, they were a part of her actual head. When she finally got it off it was obvious which parts came from which parent. She had Roll's hair color and length. She had four spikes at her neck resembling Megaman's hair. Her eye color was the same green emerald as her father's. Her face was a mixture of the two.

"Wow, I had no idea that you could do that." He said amazed by it.

"I wish that there was an easier way to do this." She said putting her helmet back on. It was more difficult to put it back on than it was taking it off. It probably took about two minutes.

"Perhaps we can look into it." Lan wasn't sure if it was possible to code something to her existing data. After all, she was made differently than other navies. She was still growing, so it wasn't known if editing her data would cause permanent damage.

"So how much longer till you can start moving again?" She asked.

"Well, I can walk and move around. But I'm told not to because it might interfere with my recovery." He said to her. While it was true that he was told not to. He still did. At night of course. But it seemed like Soul caught up on this.

"You've gotten up." Lan couldn't help but look away. "To do what exactly?" He started to blush. "Uncle Laaaaan?" She appeared right on his shoulder where he was looking.

"To… go...to the restroom." He said embarrass.

"Really!? That's it?"

"Do you really expect me to use that!?" He pointed at a small container in between his legs. "Curry does stuff to you!" usually he had been able to eat curry without much problem, but for the last four years, he had stopped eating it regularly. So now his digestive system couldn't take it.

"That's what it's for." She couldn't believe it. Had he been doing this since he came back? How have the security system not notice him leaving his bed? How did his mother not notice her son getting up? "Explain." She demanded answers. If they were going to be partners they were going to share everything.

"Yes, care to explain?" Another voice joined the conversation.

Even though it was older. Lan could still recognize the tone she used her voice. He slowly turned his head to see a ticked-off Maylu.

"Help."

Chaud could hear Lan being chewed out by his girlfriend from the next room. He secretly found it hilarious. There wasn't one person in the room who wasn't listening to what was going on in the next room.

"Okay as I was saying before I was interrupted. We have found a way to replicate Lan's Syncro-chip." Chaud said informing the various netsavers. With multiple versions of the chip, they would be able to stay cross-fused after the area was brought down in case they were still in danger. While they weren't able to extend the effect any longer than it was. They were able to increase the Syncro level between the navi and their netop. So now Maylu didn't have to rely on Rush anymore. Which was completely fine with him.

"With these, we'll have more manpower to deal with any future events." Chaud held up one of the chips. "Starting next week. Production will start on the chips. This one here," he held it up again, "This one here is one the first. It took a long time time to produce." He put it away into a heavy-duty briefcase. "So it is important that its production is kept under heavy surveillance."

After that was said and done. Everyone left and was left with Laika. He handed the briefcase containing the chip to him.

"So, how many were able to fuse with their navi?" Chaud asked They knew Maylu was easily able to fuse because of the previous Rush chip. This one rose the syncro level four times than the Rush chip.

"From the ones that failed to fuse before? More than half. It's a start." He replied. He was shocked at first when he saw that most of the subject were able to fuse. He was very doubtful at first since they were using subjects that failed the first time.

If they were able to pull this off successfully. They might be able to take on any threat without a problem. Especially Bass-Cross. All they needed was for it to not fall into the wrong hands.

After getting an ear full by Maylu. Lan was able to strike a normal conversation with her. He so many years lost that he was trying to catch up with any chance he got.

"By the way, why does Soul call my dad uncle?" He asked still confused by this. He was talking with his dad when she suddenly called him 'uncle'. "Wouldn't grandpa make more sense?"

"Well we tried at first but she still had the mental capacity of a 3-year-old.' Maylu began explaining. "She didn't understand at all. So when Gutsman came to visit he called himself uncle Guts. And so whenever she meets a male navi or human that a friend she'll call them uncle."

When Soul first met Dr. Hikari she was very confused about how her relationship with him worked. The way she understood was that he made Megaman. And in turn, he made her. But that Roll was friends with him. So what she didn't understand was that he also helped make her. So why wasn't he also her father?"

But since then her mental capacity had increased.

"Okay Soul," he turned his attention to her, "Megaman was first a human, who was my twin brother." He stared.

"Wait...WHAT!?" She yelled that last word at the top of her digital lungs.

Author's Note:

When looking back at earlier chapters. I noticed that I had put uncle instead of grandpa. I write these late into the night, so mistakes like these are bound to happen. So instead of changing it, I decided to work around it. I think I did an alright job at it.

Anyway, I hope that all of you are enjoying this fanfic. It's been a long journey that started back in 2013 and was dragged on its feet with only 2 or so chapters added until it was left completely untouched during 2018. Only picked it up again during spring of 2019. I started again because it was lingering in the back of my head.

To anyone new, I hope you can forgive earlier chapters made by a younger version of me (like 7,8,9,10 for being so short because of writer's block. To which I'm paying for it now. For instance like Obisid, I had no idea what I was going to do with her when I picked the story back up again). They had a lot of miss-spelling and missing entire words. I have since then fixed most of those mistakes for newer readers.

Again, I hope all of you are enjoying this story and I hope you all look forward to future chapters.
