Soul was laying on the digital floor of her new private homepage. She was still trying to wrap her head around the newly info involving her father, Megaman. What she understood was that he died as an infant and his DNA was then used to make a digital version of himself. Only his code was slightly changed in some way.

Then what would that make her? Was she now a quarter human? Sixteenth? Was she able to get a physical form in the real world like Rush? So many questions filled her head. She might be able to get them all answered, but she would probably get even more confused.

"What is even going on anymore?" she asked herself.

Then she heard the sound of someone entering her homepage. She didn't have to get up to know who it was. She had only given the password to only one navi.

"Hey, mom."

"Hello, sweetie." Roll said walking up to her. She took a look around her daughter's home page. It was very empty. Which was understandable since it was she had only gotten it a few days ago.

"Do you need something?" Soul asked wondering why she was here.

"You've been here a couple of hours straight. I came to see if everything is going fine." She said in a slightly worried tone. It was natural for her to be worried about her. After all, she was her mother. Soul was usually running around being entertained by everything, but now she was so unlike herself.

"It's… nothing." She said quietly.

"Is it about your dad formally being human?" Roll said.

"...I mean… kind of?" She said unsure of herself, "All of this new information about him that I'm just now learning." She sat up straight to look at her mother's face. "Don't you think you should have told me about this earlier?"

Roll gave her a deadpan look. "Soul, you didn't know the difference between a cat and a dog. How could you understand it? You're barely understanding it now."

"Oh."

A moment of silence passed between the two before bursting into laughter.

"I guess you're right," Soul said wiping away her tears. It was true. For a while, she was legitimately confused about why cats and dogs were different. They both had four legs, chased objects, and loved to be petted.

"Let's get back with the others. Lan is well enough to walk again on his own."

Both of them got up and held each other's hand. They made their way back to SciLabs.

When they arrived they were greeted by the sight of everyone trying to get Lan to use crutches. When asked about this they were given a short explanation on why there was a big fuss. Apparently, Lan tripped over a cable and was put back to bed immediately. But then when he tried to get up again, his mother and Maylu pulled out a pair of crutches and told him to use them. He insisted on not using them.

"I said I'm fine. Mom, Maylu I really don't need them. I just tripped on- hey!" Lan Finally noticed Both of them on the monitor screen. He broke free from the clutches of his mother and girlfriend. He still looked like he was having slight trouble maintaining his balance while he walked, but he still managed to get to where he wanted to be.

"Lan be more careful." His mom said in concern of his ability to stand up straight.

"Soul you're back! You feeling better?" He asked Soul, ignoring his mother's overreaction.

"Yup, reporting for duty!" She saluted in response.

"Great."

"So, what do we have?"

"It seems that a certain navi is on a rampage." A man answered his question. He laid out images of the darknet onto the table.

Chaud and Laika were in another conference room. Laika had received reports about destruction down in the darknet. It wasn't unusual to find damaged leftover by illegal tournaments. They had no boundaries. So, if a blast went rouge there was no stopping it. However, this damage was beyond anything that they had ever seen. Entire sections had been reduced into nothing but data. Any navi unfortunate to be on them had no chance of escaping.

"Any trace to where he's gone?"

"No, there isn't any." The locations that had been attacked seemed out of place for Bass-Cross. In the past, he would destroy and leave but this time he was going at it nonstop. How they couldn't locate him was infuriating. He would disappear suddenly and appear somewhere else. By the time they reached his new spot, he would be gone. "However, we are getting faster at locating his attacks."

Finally, some good news. Thought Chaud, finally seeing a break.

"But not because we're getting better, but because he's getting closer." It wasn't easy navigating through the darknet. It was home to strong viruses. So getting through them was time-consuming. But his attacks had been getting closer to the surface web.

"So how long do we have until he reaches the surface then?" Chaud asked.

"If he keeps the same pattern, then he'll reach it by next week."

"So, we have at most a week to get ready."

Both men shook hands before leaving the room and going their separate ways.

"Okay, ready?"

"Ready"

Lan stood in front of the computer. He had positioned himself so that he wouldn't fall. He held onto one of his crutches and the PET in the other. He then pointed the PET at the computer.

"Jack in, Soul, power up!"

A red laser left the PET and hit the computer. Soul was successfully transferred into the terminal. She was then in the system.

"Okay let's go for a test run. There are a few viruses preventing data from being sent properly." Lan said.

Soul nodded and began making her way towards the viruses. When she finally got there, she was faced with about 20 of them. They were mostly standard everyday mettaur, and fishy viruses. They didn't take very long to notice her as the mettaurs immediately swung their pickaxes to the ground, sending shock waves in her direction.

While all of this was happening, Lan was picking out the weakest chip he could find. Any attack using one would have its power amplified. So it was best to use an already weak chip.

Soul was busy dodging the shockwaves by hopping from side to side. She would have to do a lot of this because not only was she trying to avoid the shockwaves but also the dash attacks from the fishy viruses.

'You know what? Let's use their own attacks." Lan said holding two different chips.

"Alright then." Soul assented.

"Shock wave, battle-chip in download." Lan inserted the chip into the PET.

Soul took hold of her own pickaxe and struck the ground. Sending a giant shock wave towards the viruses. The attack took out all the mettuars. Just leaving the fishies left. Lan inserted the next battle chip. It was the dash attack chip that these viruses usually dropped. She jumped before disappearing from sight. The viruses were confused as the navi had disappeared from sight. Suddenly the were all sliced in half.

Soul reappeared as she let out her breath. She didn't need to breathe at all, but it was just a reflex programmed into her to help calm down. She looked around to see all the viruses gone.

"Great job," Lan said as a screen appeared to the left of her. "It was a bit of an overkill, but it got the job done." True, the didn't need to use any chips. She could have just used her crossbow buster. But Lan wanted to try out her power.

"So, what now?" Soul asked.

"Now? I guess we could go for a walk around the city for a while until we receive a call."

Soul's eye beamed. "Really?"

Lan nodded before returning her back to the PET.

"I wonder if any old curry shops are still in business?" Lan wondered to himself. As his time as Kent, he never returned to his old curry restaurants. Just thinking about it started to make him drool.

"We need to get you help," Soul said as a holographic image appeared on his shoulder.
