Protoman opened his eyes behind his visor. One moment he was facing death and then next he was on the ground. He got up to see what was happening he noticed that the tower he previously on was gone.

He looked up at the sky and noticed two figures. One was suspended in the air while the other one was balancing on an extended pole.

Soul was now coming to the conclusion that going right at Bass-Cross head-on was not a good idea. It was the heat of the moment, so they went for it. They didn't plan this through. Lan was probably getting an earful from both his dad and girlfriend. If she lived she was next. But for now, she had to focus on the navi in front of her.

Both of them had exchanged a few blows for a few seconds. Bass-Cross had his in a ready position to fire another attack, and Soul had her crossbow-buster aimed directly at him.

For the moment they were staring each other down. Not one of them made any hint of making the first move. That was good for her because it was buying time for the rest of her allies to come up with a plan. All she had to do was to keep his attention on her.

For Bass-Cross, however, he was not feeling very patient today. His anger build up with every passing second. One half of him wanted to lash out and get it over with, but the other wanted to stay cautious. The former was dominant for the time being.

"Are YOU crazy!?" Maylu was screaming in Lan's ear. Without a second thought, he had just sent Soul to her certain death.

"Ow, ow, don't pull so hard! How am I going to help her when the fight gets going?" Lan said in pain as Maylu was also pulling on his ear.

Everyone, in the room, was furious at Lan. They had told him that that's not why he was there. His role was to talk down Bass-Cross through whatever was left of Megaman. Out of everyone, only one was this coming. That person was Chaud. He knew that this would happen. They only reason that he had let it happen was that Lan was going to do it anyway. It didn't matter if they had told him to come in or not. News traveled fast.

"Well, I hope you have a well thought out plan for this." Dr. Hikari said to his son.

There was no answer. Only the sound of him crying in pain a few seconds later as Maylu pulled harder on his ear.

"Look, look all we need is for Soul to distract him long enough to get all those Navies out of Net City. After that we trap him."

"We tried to trap him. The effects don't last that long." Chaud said.

"Yeah, but did you not consider Soul?" Lan said as if he was leading to something.

Chaud gave him a questioning look. Did Lan have a plan? How was he able to come up with one that would top theirs?

"Well, whatever you used on him did affect him. However, they failed because they're not powerful enough."

"Yes, we know. Hurry up and get to your point."

"Okay, okay, so you know Soul has the ability to amplify the power of any battle chip,"

Chaud finally understood what Lan was trying to say to him. They could have Soul trap Bass-Cross using their new sphere trap. They still didn't name for it. How could they? They were too busy trying to get it to work in the first place. The code name was just called 'sphere trap' so they stuck to it.

"Alright, I get what you're saying," Chuad said pulling out a chip and passing it to Lan.

"I'm guessing this is what you used?" Lan asked taking the chip.

Lan got no response from Chuad. He looked back at the screen showing Soul and Bass-Cross. All that was left was to plan something that could hold Bass-Cross down long enough to use whatever chip he was given.

"Okay, let's do this," there was a short pause before he turned back to Chaud. "What does this do?" Lan asked holding the chip.

Chaud face-palmed himself in response.

About less than half an hour had passed. Any patience that Bass-Cross had left was gone. All that was left now was pure rage. He lunged himself at Soul. She quickly moved out of the way and he missed by a hair.

He kept swinging at her. She was barely able to dodge them. She quickly started to jump from building to building. Bass-Cross started to follow in close pursuit. She would have to move in random directions because Bass-Cross would come crashing down.

Soul was starting to lose energy. She looked around to see if there was any cover to hide behind to take a small breather. It didn't look like Bass-Cross was going to stop anytime soon. No matter what she hid behind he would always find her by punching it away. Even when she shot her crossbow-buster he would deflect them away with his fists.

"Lan do you have a plan yet?" She asked hoping for a yes. Half an hour should have been enough, right?

"Almost, just keep him busy. Keep his attention on you." Lan said.

"That's not going to be a problem obviously. Doesn't look he's going to stop until he lands a hit" She thought to herself. Bass-Cross had diverted all his attention to her.

"Wait a minute! He hasn't used any other of his attacks. All he's done is just used physical attacks." She thought now noticing the patter of his attacks.

"Lan, listen, I need a chip." She called out to him.

She looked at Bass-Cross right at his face. She grew a grin on her face. She spread her limbs out.

"What the matter can't seem to land a hit? Well, I'll be a nice girl and give you a free pass."

He threw a punch at her, but she absorbed the attack like it was nothing. She had an aura surrounding her. Lan had inserted a level 3 life aura chip. Thanks to her ability, it was now able to absorb as many punches or kicks that Bass-Cross threw at her.

Bass-Cross pulled back his fist and threw his other one at her. It still had no effect on Soul as she wasn't even moving an inch, but Bass-Cross didn't seem to care as he was just hitting her over and over again. Soul l seemed confused as to why bass-Cross kept throwing punches when he could use any other of his more effective attacks.

"Lan, something isn't right with him." She said.

"How?" Lan asked.

"For one he hasn't said anything and two he's just punching me with no clear strategy. He just swinging hoping to do some damage." She explained.

Lan looked at Bass-Cross from his end and started to notice Bass-Cross wild swings. Bass-Cross was swinging his fist at her without a second thought.

"Sounds like a certain pair of idiots don't you think?" Chaud spoke up.

"Hey!" Both Soul and Lan yelled in resentment.

Chaud chucked a bit before focusing back at the rampaging navi. This would explain all the random attacks that happened in the darknet. The only question is 'why is he out of control?'

His thoughts were interrupted by a loud scream coming from Bass-Cross. Bass-Cross was now sending different energy attacks in every direction.

Lan inserted an area-steal chip to help Soul avoid the attacks. However, this seemed to anger Bass-Cross as his attacks increased in damage.

"Your...Power...Mine!" For the first time in this battle, Bass-Cross spoke.

"So he still has some intelligence. Even if it's at a caveman level." Chaud commented.

"Yeah, I don't think so," Soul said using another area-steal and now heading in for an attack. "Sword, Long sword, and Wide sword, Program advance! Dream Sword!" Soul swung the massive sword at him.

The energy from the sword was strong enough to destroy nearby buildings to be destroyed. Bass-Cross didn't even react, either he didn't care or truly was caught off guard, it didn't matter. It struck him. He was sent flying across the ruined city.

"Did it hit?" Lan asked.

"I think so," Soul responded. She waited for the virtual dust to settle down. Why was it even a thing? After a few seconds, the dust settled and there, in a crater, was Bass-Cross. He looked to only be stunned. While he did have a gash across his chest it seemed to be healing up.\

"Quickly, before he fully recovers!" Chaud yelled.

"Sphere trap!" Lan yelled inserting the chip.

Soul extended her hand and a small sphere appeared on her palm. "Um...how do I use it?" She sheepishly asked.

"THROW IT!" Everyone yelled at the top of their lungs.

Soul used all her strength, which was a lot if left unchecked, a threw the sphere directly at the navi. Bass-Cross took notice and threw two hell's wheels at it, but they were both absorbed into it. He tried to move out of the way but before he could, the sphere expanded. It blinded him as the light emanating from the sphere grew intense as it grew.

It absorbed Bass-Cross into it. Everyone listing nearby could hear his screams.

The then shrunk back down to the size of a baseball. It became a transparent yellow glass ball. Inside of it was Bass-Cross, his image distorted by the shape and light of the ball, thrashing around in it.

Soul slowly made her way towards the ball. She was conflicted about how she felt. On one hand she saved every navi from further harm from this terrible monster, but one the other she had trapped her father. His mind somehow corrupted into that of a beast.

She kneeled down and picked up the sphere, looking at the figure of her father fused with Bass. He looked back at her with eyes of hatred. No that wasn't it. It was the eyes of a predator, he saw her as nothing but prey as his next meal.

"We're going to fix you, dad." She said placing the sphere on her chest, then a single tear rolling down her cheek.

"We are," Lan said reassuring her.
