Title: Keyblade Graveyard - The Next Right Thing

Summary: Set before Wayfinder's trio against Xehanort and Vanitas. Ventus recalled something eerily yet important about this place. What-if/canon divergence AU

When the boy arrived in the wasteland and saw the scars from the fated battle, he recalled everything back. The first time he came here, he fought Vanitas. No… he had been here before then, he met those two… who were they again – Ephemera and Skuld? Also the two other Union Leaders, Blaine and Lauriam.

I see… this is what they've been through. The blond mentally thought. He can feel what the Foretellers were feeling back then.

Even though it is faint, he could sense the remnants of shrieks, cries, tears, also other sounds like raindrops, screeches in pain, roars, sounds of clashing blades, scent of bloods, and deaths. He knew, it was the Foretellers', his fellow comrades', and people who joined Keyblade War.

This grave was proofs that they were existed. It was a proof that the war happened. It was a proof that their scream echoes through the battlefield. Whether they were in pain, sad, or feeling glorious with their win against their opponent.

Master Ava, everyone. I know,

You're hurting.

"I'm sorry," he muttered, couldn't help to bear imagine the pain they've been through. But, to whom he apologized? Was it to Master Ava? To the Foretellers? To Ephemera? To other Union Leaders? Or to his friends that participated in the war? To the surviving Dandelions? He couldn't tell.

He is ashamed of himself. It is too late to regret it now. He can't dwell for it. He is guilty for disregarding Ava's instructions and orders.

To keep the light safe? He only submitted himself to the darkness.

He admitted he made mistakes. Fail to follow Master Ava's instruction. Fail to become a Union Leader. Disappoint his leader (Dandelion Leader) – Ephemera, also his fellow comrades – Skuld, Blaine, Lauriam.

The boy – Ventus – closed his eyes. I promise, he thought to himself. The same tragedy won't happen. I don't care whether everything have to be remembered or not. I don't care how they judged it. I will fight so everybody else won't go through the same pain… anymore.

I don't want to lose anyone again.

With that pledge, he became more determinate to save Terra and Aqua…

before he could harm them.

He walked and spotted the scars due the war once again. Then he stretched his hand, summoning his keyblade, "Friends forever."

Then he walked to the graveyard. To do what he supposed to do.
