Thomas the Tank Engine Fanfiction
Thomas looked up. The skies shimmered with purple and pink, and the clouds were a bright orange. I must have made it, he thought. The mirror island of Sodoria was no myth.
He chugged along the tracks leading out of the forest and towards a large, grassy plain- careful to keep his puffs as quiet as possible.
Suddenly, a deep voice boomed. "Welcome, young train, I have been waiting."
Thomas froze. It was a familiar voice, but he couldn't quite place it.
"What exactly is happening?" he squeaked out.
"It is as it should be. The time has come." said the voice.
Thomas was confused, and yet, he felt as if this was meant to be- the feeling one gets when lost in a dream. "What are you saying?"
The voice answered, "Listen, young train, and all will be clear soon." Thomas took a deep breath and started again. As he got closer and closer to the large castle, Thomas noticed that it was the only thing here that was made for trains to enter. "Come with me," said the voice. Thomas followed it inside. "Wow," was all Thomas could manage. The inside of the building was amazing. There were giant paintings of grassy fields, flowers blooming, and people playing. The room was painted green, and glistened every now and again, making Thomas feel… something. A small staircase with tracks led up to the next room. It was very intricate and well polished also. Tiny designs of snakes, gems, and dragons filled the stair steps, it had diamond handrails with small patterns of squiggles. Besides the remarkable stairs, paintings, and decor, Thomas found himself always looking at the double doors behind the staircase. It was a depressing brown and green combo that didn't look good, it had no designs or anything on it, one door handle (Thomas figured it was a one-way in, one-way out kind of door), but it wasn't the door that made him look, it was the feeling he got whenever he looked at it. Every time Thomas looked at the door his engine tingled, wheels wobbled, and his tank glowed.
Thomas knew something was behind that door that must be secret, but he needed to see. When the figure (Which Thomas figured was a man) walked into the other room, Thomas decided to take action. He raced to the door and crashed through it, demolishing the ancient wooden panels. He didn't care for his wanton recklessness because in his heart, he felt inexplicably drawn towards whatever was inside. What he saw made him stop in his tracks. At the very end corner of the empty room, stood a man, but just not any man... the man Thomas had been wanting to meet for a very long time, the one who would tell him the truth about his past, the one who defeated Diesel 99 the first time... The fat conductor.
