So, I know it seems weird that I'm posting this so soon after posting my previous fic, but I just can't help myself.

Now, just to be clear so I don't confuse you, Julia (Cree and Maurice's daughter) was born about four years before Emily (Rachel and Nigel's daughter). Sorry for not putting them in the right chronological order.

I only own Julia.

...

The sounds of a crying baby jolted the couple awake.

Cree glared at her husband and turned over, "It's your turn."

Maurice climbed out if bed and sprinted into the other room, where a fussy infant lay in a small crib.

"It's alright, little girl," the 23-year-old whispered to the month-old baby, gently picking her up, "Daddy's here."

Baby Julia stopped crying and looked at him.

...

Around a month ago, the young couple had welcomed her into their family. For him, it was exciting and wonderful. Cree, though, made more of an effort to cover up her excitement.

When they found out they were going to be parents, he'd cried tears of joy while she... just cried.

It had actually been Maurice's idea to name her Julia, after his great grandmother.

After Julia was born, Cree had told him, "I am not going through that again. Once is enough."

When Cree had first gotten to hold her, though, Maurice could tell that she actually did love her deep down. He never really told her about the smile that gave it away though.

...

"I think I know what's wrong." Maurice moved to the diaper changing station.

Whenever he was alone with the baby, he liked to talk to her, even though he wasn't sure if she actually understood what he was saying.

"I want you to know that I'm real glad to have you. Sure, sometimes it's difficult, it's a big responsibility to handle, but it's all worth it. Just promise me one thing though."

Julia looked at her father through the veil of darkness with wide eyes as he changed her.

"Promise me you'll never be evil. Promise me that you won't turn on those who love and admire you. Promise me you won't betray those you love. Promise me that even when you grow up, you won't become bad. Promise that you'll always stay a good person no matter what changes in your life. Promise you won't ever forget that there are people who love you for who you are."

Julia looked at him with confusion, not sure what most of that meant. But whatever it meant, it was important. So she knew she had to show him she agreed.

In the faint light of the nursery's night light, Maurice saw his daughter's tiny mouth form a little smile. Her first smile.

He smiled back, "Thank you. Let's just keep this between you and me, okay, kiddo?"

Julia smiled a bit wider as her Dad did the last button on her pajamas.

"That's my girl."

He then carefully picked up his child, set her back down in the crib, and tucked her in.

Both went back to sleep having made a lifelong pact.

...

Is it cheesy? Yes. Do I regret it? No. No amount of flames will change my mind either, so don't even bother flaming. But if you want to review nicely, go ahead.

See you around.
