I give into all of my emotions and silently cry in Emmett's arms for a good while. He says nothing and brushes the hair out of my face. He reaches over to the end table and offers me a tissue. I thankfully take it. I whisper out, "I'm sorry Em."

He lightly strokes my cheek before speaking, "Bella I don't want to hurt you. And that's how I've started out. I've only made you confused and I never meant to play with your emotions. I'm the one who should be sorry."

He stands and let's out a breath as he runs his hands through his hair and stares out the window. A steady rain is now falling. I bite my lip and wrap the throw blanket around me, walking towards the bedroom. Emmett's gaze follows.

"I'd like to be alone for a bit," I tell him.

He nods before stating that he's going outside to patrol the area.

I collapse onto the bed and pull my phone out, debating on calling Edward. What a mess I've made things and he has no idea. I frown to myself wishing I had someone to talk to. I drop the phone beside me before I hear Emmett yelling in the distance. I walk to the tiny window in the room glancing around before barely spotting Emmett in the corner, on the phone.

"Alice, what am I supposed to do? I can't help how I feel!"

He is pacing back and forth. "I know he's my brother, you haven't told him yet have you? Atleast give me that, let me do it."

His head is lowered, his clothes clinging to him, soaked from the rain. I see lightning in the distance followed by rumbling thunder.

His back stiffens, "What? How long ago?"

He makes quick strides toward the side of the house, heading around front. I jump back onto the bed, turning my back towards the door.

I hear him at the doorway as he shuts it, speaking lower, "you're positive they won't find this place?" His voice anxious, "I'll let you know if I see anything, and I'll see you soon."

Soon? Great. I was not ready for this confrontation.

I climb out of bed, still enveloped in the blanket and walk out to the living room. My breath catches as Emmett is pulling of his shirt, drying his hair with a towel.

I pull the blanket tighter, "what was that about?"

He pulls the towel down his face, "Alice, the vampires they're tracking are close...to here."

He tries to hide his concern as I press for details, "they won't find us though right?"

He nods, "that's the idea. Alice, Jasper and Edward will take care of them. They are on their way too."

I lower my voice, staring at the floor, "Emmett, I think I should talk to Edward first."

He tilts his head slightly, "Bella, I want you to be happy. Do you want me to stay and talk too?"

I shake my head, "I don't want to hurt anyone either but I think I should be the one to talk to him." He nods and heads towards the bathroom to shower.

I'm enjoying the thunderstorm at the window as I hear the shower turn off. Emmett comes out, adjusting his tshirt and stills as he motions for me to be quiet. My eyes widen and I instinctively walk toward him to feel safer. He peers out of the window and turns everything off in the cottage. I'm too terrified to speak as he brings me away from any windows and whispers that they were just outside.

"Bella your scent ends here. So far they haven't been able to figure out what has happened ans why they cant find you, but I'm not taking any chance. We need to stay quiet," he keeps a tight arm around me before pulling out his phone, texting away, to Alice I assume. Outside, there are two people pacing the area.

"Edward, Alice and Jasper are here now." Emmett announces.
