Cisco sat back in the chair, gazing at the photo in his hand. He remembered taking it like it was yesterday. Himself, Caitlin, Barry, and Dr. Harrison Wells…no, not Wells. Thawne. Eobard Thawne. The Reverse-Flash. He smiled. Barry had zipped around just in time after hitting the button on the camera, had caught the four of them inside it. Even Thawne.

Cisco put the photo on the desk in front of him. Remembered how excited he was for his first day at S.T.A.R Labs. How he was allowed to wear his favorite T-shirt on the job. All the work on the particle accelerator, how he had been encouraged and supported all the way by his bespectacled, smiling, fatherly mentor.

It was Barry who came into the room next. "Hey, Cisco, you, uh…" His eyes lay on the photo. Cisco didn't have to see him to know his posture and aura changed immediately. A moment of silence. Barry cleared his throat. He made a valiant effort, but his friend knew he was doing all he could to not look at what was on the desk.

"You…miss him?"

Cisco didn't take his eyes off the photo. "I…don't want too…"

Barry shook his head, sighed. "Me neither, but…" He shrugged. "I'll, uh…leave you to it. I have to talk to Iris about something." And then he was gone.

Cisco reached forward, holding the photo again. He had a half-smile as he looked back at it.

"You…were a good scientist, man. A good boss, and a good friend. You were…all I wanted to be, really."

More silence.

"Shame you were such a shit man."

He put the photo face-down, got up, and walked out of the room.
