The Next Day

"Uggh!" May exclaimed, getting out of bed.

She hadn't slept that well and she had to get up early. Her head ached. She took some aspirin and got up and got dressed.

"I can't get sick," She said to herself, "I need to be at 100 percent."

She left the room and went to see what needed to be done around the base. As soon as she saw Coulson, she knew it was going to be a long day. He had a grim look on his face.

"What's up?" She asked.

"Bobbi got sick in the middle of the night and Hunter, the germaphobe, won't leave her side."

"Great," She replied, trying to keep her expression steady as a wave of pain hit her.

Her head was feeling even worse.

"That's four people that are out of commision," May continued, "I can't believe Hunter would stay with his ex-wife while she's sick. I passed him the other day and he said he didn't want to get sick."

"Hence, the germaphobe."

"Yes, right."

Coulson looked at her curiously.

"Are you alright?" He asked, "You seem sort of spaced out."

"I'm fine," She said, not feeling fine at all. "I'm just tired."

He didn't buy it.

"Melinda," He said, gently, "The last time you were, 'Just tired' was the time you were, well, you know."

"I know," She snapped, not wanting to think about that. "I'm not now and I doubt I will be again. I don't want to talk about it."

"Okay," He said, lifting his hands up in surrender. "If you're tired, why don't you take a break and come back when you're feeling less tired?"

May nodded, her head aching too much for her to say anything without screaming. She went back to her room and sat down on her bed. Why did he have to bring that up? She hadn't been pregnant for twenty-six years and yet Coulson managed to bring it up today of all days. Today was the day she'd figured out she was pregnant all those years ago. It was the day she felt both fear and joy. She hadn't told anyone except the father. They'd decided to keep it a secret. She hadn't told anyone else when she started getting bigger, except Fury. She'd been given several months of leave and came back when- But no, she couldn't think about that. Not her baby. Not Charlotte.

Back to the Future

"She's a what?" Ward asked.

"Time traveler," Jemma replied, "She traveled back thirteen years ago and met us. Daisy wasn't there that week and you were, well…"

"I know," He said, grimacing, "When is she going to travel back?"

"I'm not sure. It took about a day or so for her to feel better and travel back, but time travel is a funny thing."

"If you say it's wibbly wobbly, I will…"

He was cut off with a shriek from Daisy.

"She's back!"

"Great!" He smiled. "Well, Jemma, it was nice talking with you, but I'm going to go now."

"Alright, talk to you later."

He went into Lily's bedroom to see his wife and his daughter sitting on the bed.

"How are you?" He asked Lily. "You gave us quite a fright."

"I'm good and I'm sorry for scaring you."

"It's alright, sweetie," Daisy said, "We're just glad you're safe."
