Chp. 7

Authors Note: I want to apologize to those of you who have supported me in creating this story, I have been so very busy with college and work for the past few years. I finally found the time to go back and start on new chapters, so I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own the Harry Potter series.

Harry sat down, breathing out a heavy sign. He saw the looks some of the campers had given him. It wasn't that he didn't expect all of this, but he had hoped to be left alone. The attention was bringing up old memories of Hogwarts, of how he was only a tool to be used and discarded at a moment's notice. He really didn't know why Chiron wanted to make sure he was recognized, it wasn't as if he wouldn't stick out due to his lineage and willpower.

Amazing, how a few months, almost a year, have changed things. How he could go from rising dark lord to hero? He should be used to the drama by now, but he couldn't seem to get over it. He had grown up too fast, not really stopping to think upon the effect it had left on him. Now he was in a summer camp for demigods, but all he could see was children. Kids who would grow up if they were lucky, but they still was able to have fun in the middle of this war.

He looked over at Nico, smiling softly at his younger brother, wondering how this war would affect him. He could only wish he had met Bianca before her passing, He had really hoped to meet the person who taken care of Nico for so long, that was no way a hero should have went. Harry shook his head to himself, pushing a piece of hair back. Why did he tend to focus on so much negative? It must be a Hade's thing, as his younger brother seemed to be lost in thoughts as well.

He nudged Nico on the shoulder, "You okay?" he asked gently.

Nico POV

Nico glanced up at the older of the two, "Yea, just thinking, you know?" He looked down at his plate, realized he had finished his meal. Where had the time gone? Sadly, this was most meals. He grinned at Harry, he had just realized he wouldn't have to be alone tonight! He had taken to making himself a bed away from everyone, verging on almost being outside the cabin, due to the camper's distrust of him.

He just had to figure out how to tell his brother that he was afraid of the dark. Imagine that, Hade's son afraid of the dark, but ever since Bianca died he hadn't been able to control everything that came out of the shadows. That had caused some of the younger kids to really keep a distance, but he couldn't help it sometimes.

Frowning slightly, he looked around. Scared even now, that he might accidently call something. Nico yawned, it was only getting later. He got up to throw away his leftovers and put away his tray. He forgot how much like summer camp, Camp Half-Blood, was. Even though there was some like him, who never left now. They stayed until they were too old or…until they died, more often than not it was the latter. Every day, he worried he would be one of them but unlike them he had a reason to be targeted.

The Lotus Hotel had kept Bianca and himself alive for longer than what was natural, but mentally he hadn't grown up that much. He just had learned to try and suppress the emotions to keep going. When he had took off after his sister's passing, he had found himself at his father's gates somehow. Hades had no issue with him deciding to stay in the underworld, as it wasn't against the rules the gods had placed upon him. He mainly kept to himself and learned bits of information that kept him up to date.

Shaking his head, he realized he had drifted again, a habit of being alone most of the time. He just wanted to be a normal kid, he couldn't help but think back to when it was just him, Bianca, and his mom. But apparently that was ages ago, they had lost all that time to being kept safe. He signed, staring at his new brother, while brushing a strand of hair back. Harry was immortal so at least he wouldn't be easy to lose, he was tired of losing people.

Nudging Harry, "Hey, I'm going to head to the cabin." He was getting sleepy at this point, and was happy that he may get a good night's sleep at camp for once. Usually, if he needed rest he would take off the Hade's Palace, to his nice comfy bed.
