Hello once again guys! I'm back with a new chapter of Neylas Redemption! Before I start I want to give a big thanks to everyone that has stuck with

me as long as they have. And I want to give a big thanks to the reviewers that kept lighting a fire under me. As much as I hate to admit it I do tend to

be a bit lazy when it comes to writing. But in any case onward to today's chapter: UNLEASH THE GURU!

Disclaimer: I do not own Sly Cooper that honor unfortunately belongs to Sanzaru.

Chapter 16: Unleash the Guru

After the gang returned to the Safehouse Bentley gathered the Gurus equipment and headed out to go see him. Normally his wheelchair made it near impossible to

reach the stockade. However thanks to Murray's recent visit to the Guru he now had a way to access it. Before long Bentley had an audience with the mystic.

"Hail O Guru of the Stone. Murray has purified Ayers rock and now I humbly deliver your walking stick and Moon Stone… the time for escape has come." Bentley said as

he handed the items as well as an earpiece to the Guru through the fence.

"I appreciate your assistance young one." the mystic said as he re-attached the Moon Stone to his staff and put the earpiece in his ear.

"Thank you you're too kind. But tell me… how do you plan to escape?" Bentley asked. The Guru then whispered his response to him causing Bentley to go wide eyed.

"Gadzooks! You can transform yourself?... Why once you change shape a guard is certain to come and investigate!" Bentley said in sheer awe.

"Precisely. You'd be surprised at how stupid these guards can be." the Guru replied.

"Heh heh, too true… Wait here comes a guard!" Bentley said as he headed out quietly to avoid detection. Once the Guru was alone he held up his staff and started to

chant, began to shrink and turned into rock catching the guards attention. The guard entered and looked around for the missing koala. Once the guard had his back

turned the Guru turned back to normal, jumped on the guards back, and took over his mind. From there he used the guard as a battering ram and broke down the front

of the stockade.

"Master! I heard a crash! Are you alright?!" said the concerned tone of Murray through the earpiece.

"Yes I am alright my student. I cannot say the same for the guard." the Guru said.

"Master you are vicious! Anyway time to show these miners whose boss. Head for the drills I think Bentley found a way to stick it to these miners." Murray said.

"I'm on my way." the Guru said.

"Another thing. Bentley said when you get to the drills look into the Moon Stone for further instructions." Murray said.

"Very well." the Guru said as he made his way to the drills location. Once there he stood upon a nearby rock formation and looked into his Moon Stone.

"Your talents are impressive Guru." Said a small image of Bentley.

"You really are too kind Bentley." said the Guru with a chuckle.

"Uh-huh, yeah." Bentley said.

"Murray said you had a plan for as he said "Sticking it to these miners"?" the Guru asked.

"That I do. As you can see those drills are tearing up the landscape. However they do appear to be fragile at the base. Ram a guard into it and the whole apparatus

should break apart." Bentley said.

"Bentley it would be my pleasure." Guru said before heading off the rock to find a guard. With his abilities to transform and his knowledge of the landscape, finding

"volunteers" for this job was a fairly simple task. Before long all the drills were gone and the Guru was off to his next objective: the grinder at Wave Rock. Once he found

a safe spot he looked into the Moon Stone once more being greeted by the image of Bentley.

"That grinder is tearing up Wave Rock." Bentley said.

"This is terrible!" the Guru said.

"I know it's awful! However the linked generator is weak, easily destroyed…" Bentley said as the Guru adjusted the Moon Stone to view the stone walkway.

"... provided you can jump a few guards over there and ram it." Bentley finished.

"Ah. Seems simple enough." the Guru said as he jumped off the rock to track down the needed guards. It was a little tricky since the path to the generator tilted but

he was able to manage. All the while Murray was cheering him on via his earpiece. While it took four guards to destroy the drills it only took three to destroy the

generator. Upon the third hit the generator finally gave out and exploded, sending a massive power surge towards the connected grinder causing the machine to break

apart.

"Master you've done it, the miner's machines are silenced! The Dreamtime Spirits rejoice!" Murray cried out into the earpiece.

"That they are Murray, I can feel my full power returning. Speaking of which I'm heading to your Safehouse." the Guru said.

"Seriously?! Does this mean…" Murray was about to say.

"I'm not officially joining your team yet my student. But there is a task I must attend to there." the Guru said.

"Alright master, I'll let the other's know. Do you have any instructions?" Murray asked.

"I'll fill you in when I arrive. For now just wait for me." the Guru said as he headed for the Safehouse. Once he arrived he saw the gang waiting for him.

"Alright Guru what's this about?" Bentley asked.

"I've come to clear your friends amnesia." the Guru said earning the attention of the gang.

"R...really?" Neyla said. The Guru nodded.

"It's the least I can do to repay you for all you've done." the Guru said.

"Alright. What do we have to do?" Sly asked.

"Gather around the table." the Guru instructed. They did as they were told and gathered around.

"Now I need you to join hands." the Guru continued. They listened and joined hands.

"Now what?" Neyla asked.

"As a Dreamtime Mystic I have the ability to access two realms known as the Mindscape and Dreamscape. What I'm about to do here is bridge our

minds enabling us to enter Neylas mind." the Guru said.

"Okay but how is entering my mind going to fix my amnesia?" Neyla asked.

"I'll explain more inside but first I must offer a warning." the Guru said.

"What kind of warning?" Sly asked.

"The Mindscape is home to a person's memories. If you're not careful we can do more harm than good." the Guru said. The gang understood and nodded.

"Is there anything you want to say before we begin?" the Guru asked. Sly was the one to speak up.

"Neyla, we want you to know, no matter what you see in there, it doesn't change how we feel about you now." Sly said giving Neyla's hand a reassuring squeeze. She

nodded then she looked to the others, then to the Guru.

"I think we're ready Guru." Neyla said. The mystic nodded.

"Very well. Now relax, and close your eye's." the Guru said as he lifted his Moon Stone. The gang complied and closed their eyes as the Guru began to chant. A few

minutes later the Guru spoke.

"Now open your eyes." he said. They complied and were met with darkness save for a lit multicolored door.

"This is my Mindscape?" Neyla asked.

"Yes." the Guru replied.

"And the door?" Bentley asked.

"Short or long version?" the Guru asked.

"Short preferably." Neyla said.

"That door leads to your friends Mindscapes. By opening that door the holes in your memory will be filled by their own accounts and experiences with

you." the Guru said.

"So by opening that door she'll remember everything. Good and bad?" Bentley asked with a bit of nervousness in his voice.

"Yes. However since it leads to your respective minds the door cannot be opened by Neyla alone." the Guru said.

"Right… Uh Neyla you know it's not too late to turn back right?" Bentley asked her. Neyla sighed as she approached the turtle.

"Bentley, I'm scared too. But I've come too far to give up now. If I'm going to be with you guys I need to face whatever demons lie behind that door." Neyla said. Bentley

sighed in resignation and nodded indicating he was ready. Then the group approached the door. Neyla placed her hand on the knob followed by the hands of Bentley,

Murray, and then Sly. With a deep breath they turned the knob and opened the door. Then suddenly the darkness was filled with light engulfing Neyla in the process

"Master what's happening?" Murray asked trying to shield his eyes from the light.

"Your Mindscapes are repairing the damage to Neylas memory." the Guru replied.

In the light:

It was all becoming clear now. The dreams she was having were now becoming clearer as she began to remember events left and right. From Paris, India, Prague, and

Canada. She remembered her runs with Sly, her dance with him, and…

"No… No!" she said as she remembered a very specific event where she betrayed not only Sly and Murray but her own partner as well. As if things couldn't be worse she

saw that not only did she merge with a physical manifestation of the owl, but that she was responsible for Bentley's condition. As the light cleared up she fell on her

knees and cried.

"It is done." the Guru said as he lifted his staff and before long the gangs vision was filled with darkness once again. When they opened their eyes again they were

back in the Safehouse. Then all eyes were on Neyla.

"Neyla?" Sly asked. Then suddenly Neyla bolted up and left the Safehouse.

"Neyla come back!" Sly said as he ran after her.

A lot of you are probably yelling at me for keeping this on a cliffhanger. But don't worry I won't keep it that way for long. Believe it or not this was a

hard chapter to write especially when translating the Guru. On this note, I hope I did a good job and I will see you guys next time!
