Chapter 1: Stir

It's been a good year since we last saw each other and parted ways. To this day, I find those events almost unbelievable. One small turn into the wrong direction, changed our lives forever.

Now, life feels empty. Devoid of meaning and purpose. What else am I supposed to do? School feels so unimportant, but I guess finishing College will make Makoto very happy at least.

I still keep contact with them through my phone though. Many things have also changed. Le blanc is apparently in the verge of closing, as fewer and fewer customers are entering the café. Makoto got reccomendations to multiple colleges, which is, not really that surprising. Up until now, I can't help but be proud of her. Ann and Ryuji finally got together after all these years, while Yusuke surpsingly convinced Haru to pose for a painting. Some things don't change I suppose.

A visit sounds nice. But finding the right time to do so is tricky. I don't have a proper excuse to tell my parents yet, so best hold until summer vacation.

Rrrriiiiiiing

The final bell rings, and signals another end to another school day. I head down the steps, and swing by the school canteen to buy some bread. I take the usual route back home, enjoying a nice warm loaf of bread over a cold February afternoon. I arrive home, and I was greeted by a warm "Welcome home, Akira!"

by my mother. I remove my slippers, and greet her back. She wore her usual White sweater and black jeans, her long hair draping across her back. As she returned to cooking dinner, I went back up to room.

I sigh as I place down my bag onto the floor.

"How was school?", a voice nearby asks. A black cat jumps down from my bed and seats himself in front of me. "I'm pretty hungry now you know," he purrs.

"Same as usual Morgana," I reply back. I then pick a piece from my bread and toss it towards him. As quick as ever, he lunges upward and grabs the bread with his mouth mid air and lands gracefully back into the cold floor.

"Hm, bread from the canteen right?"

"Yeah"

I don't really feel like changing yet...

So I decided to plop myself onto my bed and turned on the Television. Morgana quickly followed and placed his head onto my lap.

The news was on.

"Student from Shujin Academy dies after what seems to be a heart attack", the news reporter stated. A clip of a young boy played on screen, his eyes rolling, his skin pale. Gasping for air as he then soon falls from his seat, collapsed in a state of complete despair. He was dead, no question.

This was clearly not a heart attack. This, could not be happening!

Mementos was destroyed...

Shadows should be gone!

And yet here it was, clear as day... Another incident.

"Akira?" Morgana looks at me, worried.

"Is that? What I think it is?"

I nod in response, and immediately take out my phone to chat the others.

Do you guys see the news now?

Minutes pass, and not a single response has been sent. Maybe they're busy? The boy who died was from Shujin afterall.

My phone just vibrated.

No notifications popped up. No message went in. Why did it Vibrate?

I go to the home screen, and morgana suddenly shouted, "Look!", as she pointed towards the bottom of my phone's screen.

A familiar looking application set iself neatly onto my phone. It had a black eye over a red background for a thumbnail.

I knew this all too well.

Somehow.

Things begin to stir again.
