"But, no mama!" The young girl pleaded with the High Priestess of Neith.
Hasina looked over to her daughter. "Acenith, please listen." She knelt down to her three year old daughter's height. "I want you to do as exactly as I tell you, do you understand?"
"Yes mama." Acenith could feel something in the air, she knew something bad was happening, and she could feel it in waves coming off of her mother, but yet, the High Priestess was relatively calm.
"I need you to go with Ebo and Madu, and I need you to listen to what they tell you." She said. "They will keep you safe and will deliver you to your father." Somehow, Hasina knew she wouldn't make it. She slipped off the necklace around her neck, that was a family heirloom that she had gotten from her mother and put it over her daughter's head. "Remember, I love you, don't you ever forget that." She wrapped her arms around her daughter in a hug and kissed her head. "I will always be with you." She stood back up and looked at her two priests. "Take care of her, and make sure she gets to Imhotep safely." And with that, their priestess was gone.
The two quickly took the child and went to hide. They hid for what seemed like for days, but it had only been a couple hours. Ebo left Madu with the child, before going to check if it was safe. He came back after a few minutes. "It's all clear." He said. Madu nodded and picked up the toddler. Then the two headed towards the entrance of the temple. He sucked in a breath when he saw the body of his High Priestess and quickly shielded Acenith's eyes.
They went out to where the camels were and put the child on one, and the two priests stood on either side of her, to make their way to Thebes, which wasn't far, as they could be there within two hours.
They made it to the city right at sunset, the guards informed them that the High Priest was in the palace, in the Throne room with Seti and allowed them through. Ebo tuned to the camel and held out in hands to help the young child off, and the priests walked into the palace with the child between them. By now, word had gotten out about the attack on the temple of Neith, and Imhotep was worried, expressing to the pharaoh that he wanted to go find out the fate of his wife and child, but before the pharaoh could say anything, a guard came in with the trio.
"Papa!" Acenith said upon seeing her father. Both Seti and Imhotep looked over, the High Priest looked a little relieved as he stepped down.
"Acenith!" He knelt down and held out his arms for his curly haired child to come to him. He looked up as he wrapped his arms around his daughter. "Hasina?" He asked.
Both the priests shook their head. He sighed and stood up with his now crying daughter.
Acenith sighed as she woke up and threw the covers off of herself. She had been having that dream for a few nights now, and had no idea why. That was one of the only memories that she had of her mother. What Madu hadn't know, though he tried to shield her eyes, Acenith saw her mother laying there, and for a while, it haunted her. But that wasn't the last time she saw her, she saw her was at her funeral.
But Acenith hadn't quite understood what was going on there however, as she was still only three years old, she didn't understand it until her father explained it to her when she was a little older.
She got dressed before stepping out of her room and into the temple. "Priestess." She looked to the priest that spoke, Hasani. "A woman awoken your father last night."
Acenith sighed. "I know." She said. "Don't ask me how, but I know." She glanced out into the courtyard. "And I know exactly what I have to do." She looked to the priest. "Come on."
She went to the mall hall, to the main courtyard to talk to her priests. "So, I'm guessing everyone has heard that my father has been woken?" When they all nodded, she continued. "And I know what I must do." She sighed. "I'm going to Cairo to talk to the people who had the nerve to wake him." She glanced to two of the priests. "Hasani, Ata, I suppose you'll accompany me?"
Which was a stupid question, they had been with her since she was three, they had been her bodyguards for so long, it only felt right. They both gave her a nod.
"We leave in an hour."
