I do not own Harry Potter, or DC

Hello guys, Badger here. Welcome to my second crossover, 'The Darkness Of A Raven'. It may not be the greatest name, but there were many working titles, like: 'Don't Ruffle The Ravens Feathers', 'Mind Of The Raven', 'Follow The Raven' and simply 'Raven'. However, I eventually went with the title you've seen on this fanfic. Let me know which title you would have named it.

Anyway, for this crossover, I have chosen the DC universe. Originally I was going to do a Harry Potter/Marvel Crossover, though at this point in time, I have no plots in mind, so I went with DC instead, as I have rough outlines for this story.

I hope you enjoy the first chapter and I'll see you at the end.

Chapter 1

A Lovely Game Of Cat And Mouse

Dumbledore sat in his office, wearily, as he looked through the reports and papers from Mad Eye and the other members of the Order. It's been twelve years since the disappearance of Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived. A few years back, Dumbledore went to 4 Privet Drive to check on Harry Potter, only to find that he wasn't there. After going through the Dursleys memories, he found that they never even took him in. It seems he was taken before they could find him on their doorstep. Ever since, members of the Order, which he reinstated for this purpose, have looked everywhere to find Harry. But now he's been found. However, the reports on his desk were…disturbing to say the least. He looked up, hearing the door open, where Minerva McGonagall entered.

"You summoned me Albus?" McGonagall asked

"Yes, it seems, we have finally located Harry Potter" Dumbledore sighed

"You don't look very happy about it Albus" Minerva said "Surely this is a good thing isn't it?"

"Usually it would be Minerva" Dumbledore replied "However, the reports worry me…according to these papers, Lily and Petunia had a half-sister…before their father met their mother, he had a child with another woman…a woman named Harleen Quinzel…Lily got into contact with her, sometime after going into hiding…if my guess is correct, Harleen found Harry on the Dursleys doorstep and took him in"

"Isn't that a good thing?" McGonagall asked "The Dursleys are vile people, at least with this Harleen woman, he'll be with a more loving family, right?"

"You would think so" Dumbledore said "But the records say differently…Harleen was a Muggle psychiatrist in the States, working with many mentally unstable patients, before becoming mentally unstable herself"

"Mentally unstable?" McGonagall repeated

"It seems she fell in love with one of her patients" Dumbledore sighed "The records say he is a sick and twisted man, with all kinds of sick and twisted felonies to his name"

"Well then we must get him back!" McGonagall exclaimed "if he is in the states with these people, then he must be brought back here…if they are mentally unstable, and twisted as you say they are, he shouldn't be around them any longer"

"Believe me Minerva, I know" Dumbledore replied "Me and Alastor will be heading to the area where they're commonly seen, but these people are known to slip into the shadows and vanish into thin air…if I didn't know they were muggle's, I'd think they were wizards themselves"

The bright contrast of the moon at the dead of night, caused the city streets and their buildings to be covered in dark shadows. In the darkness, a figure jumped rooftop to rooftop, breathing heavily, as they ran. Jumping off of a high building, he landed on the rooftop of the opposite building, where he saw the person he was looking for. His long raven hair and black cloak blew in the wind, almost casting him in complete darkness. The figure slowly turned around, smirking as his emerald green eyes stared into his soul.

"Why little bird, what's the rush?" He asked

"It's Robin!" Robin growled

"That's what I said little bird" The figure replied "Sadly I don't have the time to pluck you today, so Raven will catch you later"

With that, the raven haired child slowly fell backwards, before he fell off the building, arms out wide. Robin ran to the edge of the building and looked to see there was nothing there, just an empty street. He slammed a fist down on the stone wall, wincing slightly at the pain shooting through his hand. He has to figure out how the little magician does that.

Three streets away, a figure appeared out of the darkness from a narrow alleyway. Raven couldn't help but laugh to himself. Robin may be quick and agile, but he wasn't the brightest. Sometimes he wondered why he went by Robin anyway. It wasn't really a name that brought fear into anyone. Now, Raven wasn't saying his name did the same, but Raven's mentor thought it was fitting. His black hair was similar to the colour of a ravens feathers and, ravens have been symbols for dark omens, death and 'the dark side'. His mentor named him Raven from day one and it was a name he chose to live by. Peering out from the alleyway, he made sure the area was safe and empty, before continuing on his way.

"Impressive" A voice growled from behind him

Raven slowly turned around, to see a strange sight and in the area he lives in, that is saying something. Two men, who were dressed in some very interesting clothing stepped from out of the shadows. Raven didn't like them already, they were stealing his thing by appearing from the shadows, they should find their own thing. One was an ancient looking man, with a beard that was almost as tall as the mans body, with half moon glasses and bright purple robes that could be seen from over a mile away. The other man with him was the complete opposite. He wasn't as old as the first one, but he was missing a chunk of his nose and his scarred face was framed by messy blonde hair and he had a strange electric blue eye that seemed to move and jitter around wildly. He was wearing a dark brown long coat that was covering some black robes and one of the mans legs were fake. Both of them carried some strange looking sticks in their hands. Raven didn't know who they were, but every fibre of his being told him they meant business. Though if he had to guess, Bats probably found some new recruits for that no good Justice League of his.

"Very impressive" The scarred man said, voice rough and grizzly, pointing his stick in Ravens direction "And not something people your age should have mastered…what else can you do"

"A magician never reveals his secrets" Raven smiled "Especially to strangers I've never met, why are you here anyway?"

"We've come to take you home" The old man said, his voice gentle

Raven's eyes narrowed at the tone of the mans voice. It was like that of a kind grandfather. It was gentle, but Raven knows a façade when he see's one. The grandfatherly tone was a mere act to make people feel calm and trust him more. Raven was going to need to make a quick getaway. Being careful not to make any sudden movements, he reached into the pocket inside his cloak.

"I must apologise" He said, taking a defensive stance "But I don't go for a ride with strangers…think fast!"

Before Dumbledore or Mad Eye could blink, the boy threw something in their direction, which they quickly dodged. Dumbledore felt one of the objects graze his side, drawing blood. Whatever it was, it was sharp. When they looked back, the boy was gone. Like he was never there.

"Damn that boy!" Mad Eye growled

"Calm yourself Alastor" Dumbledore replied, using a small healing charm on his cut "He can't avoid us forever"

"What did he throw at us, anyway?" Mad Eye asked

Mad Eye and Alastor took a closer look at the objects thrown at them. They were slightly embedded in the walls. Removing them, they saw that they were Muggle playing cards and the edges were razer sharp. They could probably slice through a man entirely. On each of the cards was the word joker, with an image of a jester, with a raven on his shoulder.

Raven couldn't help but laugh maniacally as he reappeared a few more streets away. Sometimes it was just too easy. He didn't know who those people were, but as long as they stayed away from him, he wouldn't do anything to hurt them…much. Still, he should probably inform his mentor about them. He doubted that they were recruits for the Bat, but there was something about them that rubbed him the wrong way. Speaking of which, he should probably start heading back home. The sun will begin to rise soon and his mentor didn't want him, or anyone else outside during the day…unless he says otherwise. Dusting off his cloak, he started to make his way home, where the sound of something falling to the ground came from behind him. Raven turned around quickly, only to see a jet of red light, before everything went black.

Raven wasn't sure how long he was out for until he awoke. At least he thought he was awake. It was hard to tell sometimes. Either way, his head was pounding with a major headache. That, or his sense of reality was finally starting to break. Blinking rapidly, he tried to focus on the room he was in, so he can figure out where he was. He seemed to be in some kind of hospital, as there were multiple beds lined up in a row, beside and opposite him. However, he was the only one occupying the room. Raven attempted to sit up, but that proved to be a mistake, as his head began to feel like it was going to split in two and he ended up falling back onto the bed, as he placed a hand to his forehead, in hopes of numbing the pain.

"I wouldn't sit up just yet Raven" The ancient man from earlier said, appearing from nowhere "At least, until the pain subsides"

Raven quickly jumped off of the bed, ignoring the blinding pain in his head, and reached for the knife he kept in his cloak, only to find it wasn't there. Neither were his cards.

"Looking for this?" the old man said, holding up the silver knife in his hand, making Raven growl dangerously "Seeing as I would like to speak before you 'put a smile on my face' I'd rather not return it to you…and those cards of yours have been confiscated too"

The old man closed his hand and the knife disappeared into thin air. Raven's eyes widened. Without his knife or cards, the only chance he had was to somehow escape.

"How did you do that?" Raven asked, slowly moving to the door behind him

"I used magic…similar to the magic you have" The man replied

"So…you're a magician?" Raven raised an eyebrow, as he got closer to the door

"A wizard to be precise, just like you" The man smiled gently "Except I've had training and experience"

"Please, not everyone needs training to do the things I can, it just comes naturally" Raven smiled, stopping mere inches from the door "However, lets see if that 'training and experience', can catch me"

Raven quickly turned and tried opening the door, but it wouldn't budge.

"I already expected something like this" the man said "So I made sure the door was locked beforehand"

"I could easily undo whatever it is you've put on the door" Raven smirked "You know that right?"

"Indeed, which is why all other doors are sealed, for the time being, to prevent an escape" the man smiled

"A shame, I was looking forward to a game of cat and mouse" Raven pouted, moving away from the door "So where am I anyway?"

"Up in the Highlands of Scotland" the man said

"SCOTLAND!" Raven yelled "WE'RE IN BRITAIN!"

"Correct" the man said kindly

"Seems pointless to attempt an escape then" Raven folded his arms "Or threaten you for that matter"

"A wise assumption…Raven" the man chuckled softly

"My real name is Harry…Harry Quinn, or Quinzel if you prefer" Harry replied "Though I'm sure you already know that, considering you went out of your way to kidnap me"

"Partially correct Harry" The ancient wizard said "You may be Harry Quinn, your aunt Harley giving you her last name, but your real name is Harry Potter"

"I know" Harry said "Aunt Harley told me everything…my parents were killed by some kind of egotistical psycho"

"That is true Harry" the man said, sadly "They died saving you"

"So…who are you then?" Harry asked

"Forgive me" the old man said "my name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, but you can call me Professor Dumbledore"

"Professor?" Harry repeated "So we're in a school then…is that why you brought me here…to teach me some magic tricks?"

"Yes, something like that" Dumbledore replied, ignoring the sarcastic tone in Harry's voice "You celebrated your twelfth birthday not too long ago, so you're already a whole year behind on your learning"

"I have all the learning I need at home" Harry smiled darkly "What could you possibly teach me that would be any better than what I learn back home?"

"Things you once thought to be impossible Harry" Dumbledore replied "Of course, I ask that you do not converse with your aunt while you are here"

"You and I both know I'm going to anyway" Harry smirked "Why do you not want me to converse with her anyway…does she even know where I am?"

"If she does and told Mr J, as you call him, what do you think he will do?" Dumbledore asked

Harry couldn't help but smile sadistically. Mr J is a psychotic man and, even though he rarely shows any kind of affection, he cares and loves Harley and himself. Mr J may never admit it, but they both know Harry is like a son to him. As soon as he catches wind that Harry has been kidnapped, he would stop at nothing to find him. Dumbledore seems worried about Mr J finding out about this place…and he's right to be. If Mr J got his hands on the old man, he'd carve Dumbledore to bits, leaving him to bleed out…after some psychological torture of course. As Harry sat there, however, he wondered if there was another reason. If this was a school to teach magic…then its possible this place could prove to be some kind of value to Mr J. At first, Harry had no intention of attending this school, he planned on escaping at the first opportunity. However, leaving a place like this, without learning whatever secrets it has, was passing on a golden opportunity. Harry would be stupid to let something like this go.

"So Harry, I ask you" Dumbledore said, after a few moments of silence "Will you attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?"

"Sure why not?" Harry shrugged, putting on a façade to make it seem like he doesn't care "I'll take a look at what you have to teach me"

"Excellent" Dumbledore beamed "You will need some school supplies for your year…I'll gladly take you myself, make sure you get everything you need…I'm sure you'll enjoy learning here Harry"

Harry smiled darkly. Oh he was going to enjoy learning here alright. He was going to enjoy learning all the secrets this place has and bleeding them dry. And Harry was sure Mr J would appreciate anything he could learn too.

Back in the dull streets of Gotham city, hidden from sight, Mr J, otherwise known as 'The Joker' was enraged. It was easy to figure out why.

"Our little Raven is never late" He growled, as he paced back and forth "And he would always send a message if he was in trouble of some kind…someone must have taken him!"

"Well where could he be Mr J?" Harley asked, tears in her eyes

Harley loved Harry immensely. In some ways, he was more like a son then a nephew. Harley loved nothing more then to hold him close. Being the only family she had left, she was overly protective of Harry. She's killed more than her fair share of people who have tried to take, or harm, Harry. And despite the tears running down her cheeks, the psychotic fire was in her eyes, prepared to kill another person, if one single hair on his head was harmed in any way.

"I am unsure dear Harley" Joker replied, holding her close "But we will find him…hopefully he is still in the city…our friends Penguin, Ivy, Mad Hatter, Riddler and Deadshot are keeping a close eye in the streets…if they receive word on where little Raven could be, they'll inform us immediatley…and I'll carve a smile in the face of anyone who has harmed him…I promise you that!"

And that is chapter 1. What did you guys think?

As I said, I have a rough outline for this story, so I'm looking forward to future chapters. And I'm going to have fun exploring more of Harry's character. Considering he was raised by Joker and Harley, he's going to have a few loose screws.

Of course, the biggest question is, what is going to happen? When Joker and Harley find out where Harry is, what will they do? You can believe they'll be some blood spilt at some point. And of course, what is Harry going to do. Will he find and exploit Hogwarts' secrets? Will he take control of Hogwarts? If Voldemort returns, will he join his cause? So many questions and I'm not going to be answering those questions anytime soon. Though I will say, Hogwarts better brace itself.

That is all for now, I hope you enjoyed and I will see you next time, whether its in this story, or another.

Badger Out.
