Three dwarves come into the Prancing Pony. They are battered and their clothes are covered in grey dirt and have a green tint on them. The three get tankards and find a table. The three take their seats and all empty their tankards and wipe their mouths.

"I certainly needed that," Thorod says.

"Not as good as dwarf ale," Sigar says "but it hits the spot."

"Men aren't bad. I bet they'd be happy to learn a thing or two."

"It's too bad we don't have time to give them lessons," Oflar says.

"Perhaps after we finish with the undead we can come back for that," Sigar says.

"I don't know if we'll ever be done with those things."

"Didn't you find a way to stop them from coming back?"

"I did but it wasn't easy," Oflar says. "I thought it was the monuments they were appearing near but it was something else."

"What was it?" Torod says.

"A gaunt lord coated in iron was doing some kind of ritual over an evil cauldron. That was what was causing the dead to rise. I wasted a lot of time having nightshade taken to the monuments only to have nothing happen."

"That's alright you figured it out in the end," Sigar says. "Hopefully that means the ones I had killed will stay that way."

"I'm more concerned about the spirits living in the water," Thorod says. "I was trying to figure out what was causing thevlie corruption of the water and they kept attacking me. Eventually I had to send a traveler to collect the water I needed."

"Aye, I had to tell adventurers to slay some of the fell spirits. I don't kow how long they'll stay dead but they won't bother us for a while at least."

"Did you find what was corrupting the waters?" Thorod asks.

"It was a vile tenticled monster hidden in the depths of Carn Dum," Oflar says. "It's very presence poisoned the water through all of Angmar. If it hadn't been stopped the water would have killed everything to Bree-Land."

"I'm glad you found a group that could slay the beast."

"it seems that living so close to the evil stronghold gives us no end of dangerous foes."

"As long as we continue to fight the enemy we can hold them back until we find allies," Sigar says. "I think our current problem is the gaunt lords."

"Those are the undead creatures raising the wights that seem to control the spirits, correct?" Thorog says.

"I don't know what they are but they're powerful evil creatures."

"Slaying them could reduce the number of undead things we have threatening us," Oflar says.

"It could be far worse."

"How is that?" Thorog says.

"Some adventurers found a gaunt lord named Ferndur and killed him. I suspect the strength of the other gaunt lords will be greatly reduced."

"What was so special about that one?" Oflar asks.

"I don't know but he called himself the lord of pestilence," Sigar says. "Eilaf said there was something special about him and that he was a fell sorcerer who corrupted the world by existing."

"If that is the case it is good that he has been dealt with."

"I fear what else the powerful gaunt lord has done. However as long as he is away from Angmar we should focus on dealing with the spirits he called."
