Author's note: haaaaaaa five months later I managed to finish a short chapter. But hey, progress has been made. I honestly have no idea what song to put with this, I don't have my long list with me sooooo. But, if you have a suggestion for a song that matches the contents of this chapter tell me.

Tensions are running high after this, and things are only gonna get worse tbh

Trudes: thank you for always sticking with me through this. its been 4 years since i started You Don't, and you're still here. What did i do to deserve you? You are too good for me!

"So... you did it huh?" Blake asked.

Lisa nodded, averting her eyes away from Blake. "The divorce is done."

He sighed, running his hands over his face. "Anything else? He hasn't touched you has he?"

She hesitated, before looking at Blake. "He hasn't forced himself on me if that's what you're asking."

Blake frowned, reaching out to hold Lisa's hand. She immediately pulled away, not letting him touch her. "Leese, you didn't say no. Did you and him...?"

There's a moment that passes, Blake focusing solely on Lisa, before she finally nodded. "Before you blow up take a deep breath. It was after the divorce, so you can't take any legal action," she said, a very manner of fact tone to her voice. She knew Blake wasn't totally bound to the law, but hopefully telling him that would keep him at bay, even if just for a short time.

It was obvious Blake was guarding his reaction. His fist had clenched, and his frowned deepened. Everything about his body language seemed darker and more ridged. "You slept with him? Of your own free will?" he asked, words sounding forced as he tried to keep calm.

"I did. I told you when we got together I'd never truly be over him, and I told you again, not long ago, that I still love him. You have every right to be mad at me, but don't hurt him," she stated, trying her hardest to keep her voice level. Honestly she was near tears, but she needed to keep her voice calm. If Blake got out of control, who knows what could happen?

Several moments passed where Blake said nothing. He needed to get his thoughts in order before he could say anything. It felt like Lisa had betrayed him, like their whole relationship was a lie. She wasn't lying here though, in this moment it was the painful truth. When he finally spoke, it was nothing any kinder than what he'd heard. "Are you insane? He's a psychopath he doesn't care about you! Please Leese get away from him!" he begged. He sounded stern, and still quite mad, but there was a hint of concern.

Lisa slammed a hand on the table, glaring at him. "Maybe I am John! You've seen my life! I went from Jackson, to you, and now back to him! Whoever I'm with it always puts me in danger, or in a hectic lifestyle! Maybe I can't handle a calm, NORMAL life?!" she nearly screamed. By the end of her small speech tears were falling down her cheeks. She tried to swallow down the tears before getting up and quickly exiting the building.

Blake followed her out, yelling after her, "Leese! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!"

She turned back, just for a moment, to yell back, "You wouldn't have said it if you didn't mean it!"

"So this is gonna be super easy. Rippner's too overconfident, I cornered him with no trouble the other day," Danny said, popping a piece of popcorn into his mouth. "It's almost no fun if it's this easy. But hey, I'm sure he'll make it a bit more interesting soon."

Blake sighed, pulling his head out of his hands. "If you had him cornered why didn't you kill him? I hired you to get rid of him, not play a game with him."

"Someone's grumpy today. What's got a bee in your bonnet?" Danny asked, still munching on the popcorn.

The elder cop sighed again, glaring at his friend. "She slept with him. Voluntarily. My wife! Slept with a criminal!"

Danny made a shocked face before chuckling, "Not that she hadn't already. I mean- you're reformed and all- but still. Once upon a time you were no better than I am."

He let out a groan, dropping his head to his hands again. "Danny shut up. That's not a time I like to remember."

The younger shifted over, wrapping an arm around his friend's shoulders. "Awww lighten up. We had fun back then. Just like we can have fun now if you stop angsting over your ex-wife and relax a bit."

"I hired you to kill Jackson and get my wife back. Don't think this is a game," Blake said, pushing Danny's arm off of him and standing up.

Danny simply leaned back on the couch, letting out a low whistle, "Well buddy sorry to say but I can only promise one of those. Rippner will die, that you can be sure of. But getting Lisa back? Well that's up to her. You can't control that woman. She's dangerous, and Rippner's dangerous. Putting them together... not sure how well that'll work out."

Blake turned to shoot a glare at Danny before walking off, uttering one last question. "Are you even any use to me?"

After Blake was gone Danny shrugged to the empty room. He had been hired to kill, if Blake wanted more than that from him there'd be a problem. Danny may not be the biggest people person, but he knows full well you can't control people's feelings. He'd learned that a long time ago.
