Mutant Heart And Mutant Soul Chapter 10
Three days and still no change we were all starting to get worried. Jean tried to contact the Professor a few times with her mind powers, but her efforts were thwarted to no avail. There wasn't any response from the Professor whenever she tried to contact him. We were all very upset whenever this happened. We still went on with our lives, continuing as we would normally carry on.
Repairs at the mansion were quite well underway. We were nearly finished with it. All that still needs to be done are some last minute finishing touches.
I was doing some of them now outside, putting the last of the brocks into place on the outer walls of the mansion. I was with Scott at the time as the others were busy so he was helping me out.
But at one point in the afternoon something abnormal suddenly came over to me.
For some reason I became very dizzy and the brick I was holding dropped out of my hands onto the ground. I swoon a little and I brought a hand to my head to try and steady myself.
Scott was far from me so he saw what's happening. He immediately stops what he was doing and ran toward me.
He said "Silverstream?" Scott took hold of my shoulders and kept me steady in a standing position. "Silverstream, are you all right?"
Craning my head to look up at him dizzily, I said "I don't know. I mean one minute I felt fine and then the next I feel faint. It might be the heat, but I'm not sure. I've been out in the heat this long before and I've never gotten dizzy like this."
"Go lie down I'll take care of things here we're almost done anyway," advised Scott.
I smiled up at him and headed back inside the mansion. Instead of heading to my room I went into the sitting room for some peace and quiet. Luckily for me no one else was in there but myself. So I sat down in one of the armchairs and took a very long nap. I woke up about two hours later I think and I woke up very refreshed. I got up and stretched myself out.
At the same time I got up Jubilee meanders in.
"Oh Silverstream I didn't know you were in here," she said. I said "It's all right I was just leaving."
I do one last stretch with my arms, walked past Jubilee out of the room. I went to go get a snack from the kitchen.
I was heading for the library to read when I run into Nightcrawler.
Smiling, he said "How was your nap, Fraulen?"
"Just fine thank you," I said. "How did you know I was sleeping?"
"I had gone into the sitting room while you were sleeping. I didn't want to wake you," explained Nightcrawler.
"Thank you, Nightcrawler. That was very sweet," I said, appreciating the consideration.
"Are you going somewhere," inquired Nightcrawler.
"Just the library," I said, walking passed him and heading for my destination.
I took one of my own books off a shelve and start reading it while sitting on the windowsill. I love reading my books, during my spare time I found myself in the library reading one of my favorites. Today the one I was reading was about dragons and all different kinds of fairies. The turning of the pages seemed to whisper the words into my ears even before I started reading them. The creatures in these kinds of books seemed to lure me into their world trying to take me away from mine. I always pictured myself as a main character in the story I was reading so that I could make images about what was happening in a book. The one I had in my hands was very big so it was going to take me a long time to finish it. But I didn't mind I liked to take my time while reading in order to keep a story in my head always. I was halfway done with it and I was hoping to finish it this day.
While I was reading I was so absorbed in the pages of the story that I didn't hear anybody walk in. I didn't notice this person until she put her hand on my shoulder and made me jump half way into the air. I nearly dropped my book and lost my place. Turning in my seat I saw that it was Storm standing behind me. "
"Storm you scared me," I said, reproachful.
She said "Sorry Silverstream I didn't mean to startle you."
"It's all right I was just reading," I said, holding up my book to her so she could see what I meant.
Smiling when she saw the title, Storm said "You're still reading that book?"
"Yeah, I'm hooked on it I can't seem to get enough of the characters in here," I said. "Well I'm going to do some shopping in the city I was wondering if you wanted to join me," she said.
Smiling at her, I said "Sure I'd love to come I could always get some new looks for the library."
I closed the book and put it back down on the windowsill. I would get back to it later.
Outside Storm and I took the jeep and head for the city. I wanted to take Silverwings with us but we couldn't find her outside. She must've been out flying with others of her kind. Storm and I were halfway to the shopping centers inside the city when it happened. We heard a huge explosion from somewhere ahead of us.
Storm said "What was that?"
"I don't know but I have a feeling we're going to find out," I said.
Storm drove at full speed toward the sound. We weren't surprised of what we found. Juggernaut was back in New York robbing a bank. Police were already on the scene trying to take him down but they didn't stand a chance against him. The police were shooting their guns but his armor was protecting him from their attacks.
Juggernaut was moving toward them with ease, laughing "You think your puny weapons can hurt me!"
The police were moving away from Juggernaut as he was getting closer. At one point Juggernaut got close enough to one of the police cruisers and flipped it over into the air. The policemen scattered as it landed nearly on top of them.
Juggernaut started laughing very hard when he saw them running away. He took a step toward them when suddenly a bolt of lightning came out of the sky and hit him square in the chest. It wasn't strong enough to knock him down but it did push him back a couple of steps. Juggernaut gritted his teeth together he didn't like what had just occurred. Juggernaut looked up and saw Storm flouting down from the sky the wind surrounding her.
"Power of lightning strike again," shouted Storm.
Another bolt of lightning came out of the sky and this time hit Juggernaut on his helmet. This stunned him but only for a short amount of time just enough for us to get down there and attack.
Storm used her powers to try and distract him while I went to try and take his helmet off. If one of us got the helmet off then we would be able to defeat him. Juggernaut didn't know that I was there so I snuck up on him from behind. Once I was close enough I started to unlatch the bolts on his helmet. Unfortunately when I unlatched the first bolt and went to put a stop to what I was doing. His eyes widened when he saw who I was.
He said "You!"
Juggernaut turned his attention away from Storm and over to me. I had to use all of my training just to dodge his punches. He moved very quickly for someone his size. At one point I was getting tired and I had to do something. I activated my power and light shines from my crescent moon. I used my mind to shine the light straight into his face and nothing else. He immediately backed off and covered his face with his hands. Taking this chance I took the liberty of unlatching another bolt of his helmet. Storm thought the same thing I was and she went to do the same thing I was doing. She never got the chance my attack had worn off sooner than we expected. Just as she was about to unlatch another bolt Juggernaut attacked and took hold of her.
"Got you," he said, smug.
Storm tried to get out of his grasp but he wouldn't budge. The police were now back and pointing their guns at the Juggernaut.
Malice in his eyes, He said "Shoot and she dies."
Nobody dared to move the police still held up their guns but didn't fire. I stayed when I was I didn't want to risk getting Storm hurt. This guy was incredibly strong he could break Storm in half if he wanted to. Neither side wanted to make the first move we were all afraid of what might happen next. We didn't have to wait for long.
Out of nowhere jumped a man made of pure steel.
It was Calluses and he came out from behind the bank.
"Let her go," he demands.
He punched Juggernaut from behind with all his might. Juggernaut let go of Storm and he went flying a few feet and landed on his stomach. I took this chance to run over and unlatch the last bolt that was on his helmet. Juggernaut wasn't happy he didn't like being attacked from behind. Just as I undid the last bolt he shot back up on his feet. I ran as fast as I could toward Storm I didn't want to be anywhere near this guy. Juggernaut and Calluses charged at each other and went into hand-to-hand combat.
Calluses said "How could you harm a fellow mutant!"
He was talking about the Professor.
Juggernaut said "I am not a mutant my power comes from magic spells."
Juggernaut pulled up a piece of the sidewalk and threw it at Calluses. Calluses just took the attack head on. It didn't even faze him. Calluses just cracked his neck and some crackling sounds came out of it. Next moment he charged back at Juggernaut and they went back into their fight.
Storm and I were still watching from the sidelines but we were yelling encouragement to Calluses. We didn't give him any ridiculous information we only told him exactly what to do.
We were saying "The helmet take off the helmet!"
Calluses was doing his best to do just that. Unfortunately Juggernaut wasn't giving him the chance to do so he kept dodging all of the punches that Calluses was throwing at him. The police were starting to get impatient and so were we. The police chief was now shouting orders to his men.
He was saying "Loaded up your guns prepare to fire!"
The others officers did as they were instructed and loaded up their guns. As they were doing so Storm and I got an idea. The two of us turned to each other with the same look and nodded our heads. A few seconds after this we got to the officers before they held out their guns. Storm got to the police chief first before he could give the order.
She said "Sir, hold on a minute."
The chief turned to us with an extremely impatient look on his face.
He said "We're kind of busy here."
"We can see that, l but your bullets aren't going to affect that guy," she said.
The chief raises an eyebrow when he heard what she said.
The chief said "Really and why is that?"
That was when I stepped in and answered his question.
I said "Well for one thing we've fought him before and he's only vulnerable when that helmet is off of his head. Down!"
Everybody ducked when they heard me because a huge piece of debre flew right over our heads.
The chief looked at us and said "What do you have in mind?"
"Keep Juggernaut distracted with your guns we'll do the rest," I said.
The chief nodded his head and gave the order to his men.
"Fire."
They all now got up from their hiding places and started firing their bullets at Juggernaut. The bullets weren't really harming him just causing him to get annoyed. He turned his attention away from Calluses and over to the police. Juggernaut started walking toward them with anger in his eyes. This was our chance to finally get that helmet off of him once and for all.
I made a hand signal to Calluses telling him to move in. Out of the three of us he was the only one that could withstand the bullets because of his armor. He got the message and Calluses nodded his head when he got it. In less than a second eh came up from behind Juggernaut and grabbed the helmet. Juggernaut didn't like that not one bit. He tried to stop Calluses but he was too late. Calluses had already taken off the helmet and threw it out of his reach. That was the last straw for Juggernaut.
He said "You're gonna pay."
Storm and I now stepped in and I used my light to blind him before Juggernaut could even reach Calluses.
"Ah my eyes!"
Juggernaut stopped where he was and covered his eyes. Storm now used her power to bring more lightning from the sky and smash it straight into his chest. The force of it was so strong that it knocked him straight onto his back. He was left unconscious on the ground. Calluses and I went over to Storm and stood there looking at Calluses. The cops came out from behind their cruisers and walked over to us. The three of us turned to them as they came forward. The chief of their squad reached us first.
He said "Thank you for your help we'll take it from here."
"It was our pleasure commissioner," I said.
Calluses said "Want help containing him?"
The commissioner shook his head.
He said "There's no need for that with that helmet off of him we should be able to keep him under control."
The three of us nodded our heads in agreement Juggernaut was powerless without his helmet. In no time at all containment truck came to take him away.
Just as they were loading him into the truck the dizziness came over me again. I put a hand to my face to try and steady myself. Calluses and Storm noticed I wasn't feeling well and looks of concern appeared on their faces.
Storm said "Silverstream are you all right?"
I looked up at her and said "I don't know."
At that moment I couldn't keep myself up anymore and I collapsed.
"Silverstream!"
Calluses caught me in his arms before I hit the ground but he was too late I was already out cold.
Calluses said "Get an ambulance fast!"
The officer went straight to work and an ambulance came out of the blue onto the scene. My friends helped me into the ambulance and stayed with me as I was taken to the nearest hospital. We were given a police escort the whole way there.
My friends didn't leave my side as I was taken into a hospital room and observed by some doctors. During this time Storm had called the mansion and told some of the others about the battle we were in. But most of all she told them about what had happened to me. Our comrades left the mansion as soon as they could unfortunately they ran into traffic on their way into the city so it took them a while. Visiting hours were almost over when they finally arrived at the hospital. Logan and the Professor were the only ones in the mansion when Storm called so they left right on the spot. Logan left a note in case any of the others came back there.
The doctors had just finished my diagnostic when Logan and Kurt came to the hospital. The two of them burst through the door that led them to the room I was in.
"Where is she," Logan said.
Storm was the one that confronted Logan.
She said "She's inside Logan the doctors are checking her out."
Right on cure the doctors came out of the room they gave me. One of them walked over to my friends while the rest of them went to see some of their other patients before they went home. Kurt moved toward the doctor but was careful to hide his face so he wouldn't frighten the man.
"How is she," he said.
The doctor smiled and said "She's just fine your friend only had a fainting spell."
My friends only let out sighs of relief. They seemed to have been holding their breath.
"The cause of this we think is from being in the heat so long. She told us that she had been working long hours in the sun for a few days now added to the fight she had today. It's no wonder she feinted. But incase it's something else we've taken a blood sample and will put it under examination. We'll get back to you as soon as we get some results," said the physician.
"Can we see her?"
The doctor held up one of his hands.
He said "Just two of you for now she needs to rest."
Calluses and Storm agreed that Kurt and Logan should be the ones to come in and see me. I was awake now lying down in the bed I was given. I turned my head when the two of them walked in and a smile appeared on my face.
Logan got to me first. He took me in his arms and gave me a kiss on the forehead on my crescent moon.
He said "How are you feeling Silver?"
"A little better," I said, softly.
The doctor came out from behind Logan and stood next to me.
The doctor said "She'll have to stay here for the night just in case."
"We're very grateful for all you've done," said Kurt. The doctor and Nightcrawler shook hands.
"It was my pleasure," the doctor said.
Before the doctor left Logan said "Can I stay with her tonight?"
A frown appeared on the doctor's face, visiting hours were nearly over. He was doing some thinking for a few minutes but he eventually agreed to Logan's request. So the others left while Logan stayed with me.
The next day I was able to leave the hospital with Logan. I was going to get my blood results later in the day. Unfortunately in the morning on the drive home I got a little sick again and I threw up in the car. Not only that but the dizziness came upon me again. Logan had to carry me inside so that I wouldn't feint. He set me down on my feet once we were inside.
"Are you sure you're all right?"
I shook my head to get the dizziness out of my eyes.
A moment later I smiled up at him.
"Don't worry Logan I'm fine," I said. At that moment something flew off the railing of the stairs and onto my shoulder. I smiled and stroked Silverwings on the back. "Hello girl."
She responded to this affection by peeping and rubbing her head against mine.
A yell now came from the stairs.
"And she's back."
Logan and I looked up and saw Jubilee standing on the top of the stairs. She smiled down at us and slid down the stairs over to us. She gave me a big hug when she did.
"I've been so worried," she said.
I said "I'm fine Jubilee although I am a bit hungry."
"No problem I was just heading to the kitchen anyway."
Jubilee took my arm and led me away from Logan. Logan had s look of concern on his face but on mine it was of reassurance.
Jubilee made both of us some breakfast when we got to the kitchen. She ate her food slowly while I finished my plate in no time at all. In a matter of minutes I had finished two helpings of our breakfast in the same time limit which she finished her first plate. Jubilee was amazed by this.
She said "Wow Silverstream you sure ate your breakfast quickly."
I swallowed my last bit of scrambled eggs before I answered her.
I said "I don't know why I'm so hungry all of a sudden."
"Would you like anymore?"
"No not right now thank you," said.
Jubilee took her plate and brought it over to the sink. She didn't take mine because Silverwings had already jumped onto it pecking at any crumbs that were there. I was gently stroking her as she was eating what was left over. Jubilee waited patiently until he was done. When he was Jubilee took the plate and put that one into the sink.
Washing them, She said "Do you want to play some basket ball after this?"
I only shook my head. "No I'm too tired I think I'll go and finish my book from yesterday," I said.
"Are you sure," she asked.
I confirmed "Yes I'm sure."
With that I got up and left the room with Silverwings on my shoulder. I went straight to the library and started reading that book again. I eventually finished it sometime after noon. I got up and stretched out my body. The next thing I did was put the book back in its place on the shelf. I looked around for Silverwings and found her perched on another shelf head tucked under one of her wings taking a nap. I went over to Silverwings and thought I'd play a little game with her. When I was close enough I flicked her tail feathers with one of my nails. Taken by surprise she went flying into the air. She landed on the window sill and turned to me peeping in anger. I said "Don't be like that Silverwings." But she just turned away and wagged her little tail feathers at me. I laughed a little bit and opened the window for her to go outside. Unlike her I didn't go outside instead I went up to Storms greenhouse to water her plants. I stayed there for the rest of the day until it was time for supper. The air conditioning in the mansion was still working perfectly so it kept me cool in the greenhouse.
Logan came for me when supper was ready and the two of us headed for the dining hall. For some reason I was starving I was never this hungry. I wasn't the only one that noticed this.
Beast said "You're certainly hungry this evening Silverstream."
I had a mouthful of meatloaf in my mouth so I had to swallow before I answered him.
I said "I don't know why I just seem to be hungry for some reason."
After that was said I went back to eating my dinner. The others gave each other concerned looks but they quickly went back to eating their meal as well. The second course was just as good as the first. Once dinner was done we all went on with our regular routines.
I took a bath in one of the mansions bathrooms and took a bather. The water was warm and it relaxed my body. When I was done with the bath I dried myself off and got into my robe. I was walking down to my room when I ran into Jubilee.
She said "Silverstream do you want to listen to some hi-hop I just got that new CD."
I only shook my head.
I said "No thanks Jubilee I think I'll just go to bed I'm really tired."
"Oh ok," said Jubilee, shrugging.
She then walked on and so did I. I had just walked into my room when the phone rang inside of it.
I picked up the phone while starting to change into my nightgown at the same time.
I said "Hello." A voice spoke on the others end and I recognized it immediately. "Oh hi, Doctor." He told me he had the results of my blood test. "Oh you have the results." He told me what they were. Instantly my face dropped and turned pale. I was trembling as I spoke into the phone and my voice broke as I did so. "I'm what."
A second later I collapse, dropping onto the floor not far from the bed. The phone had fallen out of my hand. The doctor was still talking through his end of the phone.
"I double checked the results myself you're pregnant Miss Silver." He was waiting for me to respond to this piece of news. "Miss Silver?"
I couldn't answer him I was out cold.
Without my knowledge someone was watching me from the shadows and had found amusement at watching me feint from hearing the news. He narrowed his eyes at my predicament and let out a chuckle.
"Very interesting," he said.
At the same time Logan came into our room and found me out cold on the floor.
He let out a gasp and said my name "Silverstream."
I could feel something on my body moving closer to my face. Eventually the thing came up to my ear and I figured out who it was when it let out a huge noise near my eardrum.
"Peep!"
I sat up in bed sending Silverwings flying but at the same time the dizziness came over me. Knowing I was pregnant I suspected I had morning sickness. I was going to have to be careful during the first four or five months or I could miscarry this baby.
I had put a hand to my face to steady my head when I heard someone shout close by me.
"Look she's awake!"
I recognized the voice and realized it belonged to Jubilee. I could hear many others moving closer to me and looked up to see who else was there. Almost everyone was there except for Rogue, Gambit, Jean, Scott, and Storm. Logan was at my side in an instant and he took my hand. He brought his other one to the side of my face.
"Are you all right Silver," he said.
I said "I'm fine, Logan." "
"You gave us quite a scare there," said Gambit.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to," I said, apologetic.
"Why in the world did you faint like that," said Jean.
I had to think of something fast I couldn't tell them that I was pregnant not yet. I have no choice, but to lie to them so I quickly made up an excuse.
I said "It must've been indigestion. I did eat a lot last night. Besides the doctor called and said that there was nothing wrong with me." It wasn't actually a lie the doctor did call and he said that there was nothing wrong with me.
"Be that as it may Beast should check you," insists Kurt.
Nightcrawler made a gesture with his hand and Beast stepped on forward next to me by the bed. He picked up one of my arms and checked my pulse. He did it for a minute to see if my heartbeat had changed at all. HE was nodding his head as he was checking it.
"Seems normal," he said. "Maybe you should take a blood sample just in case the doctors missed something."
The expression on my face turns to one of horror, but I quickly guised it back to the way it was before so no one would get any ideas. Fortunately I was able to hide it before anyone could see the change in it.
"That's not a bad idea actually," Logan said.
Beast now took a needle out of a drawer with tools in them and moved toward me.
"Hold out your arm," he said.
Instead of doing what he said I brought both of my arms to my chest and held them there. I didn't want Beast to take any of my blood for examination. If they even looked at it under a microscope they would see the cells to show that I was pregnant. I couldn't let them find out about this yet not until I was ready. Before they could do anything there was a stir on the other side of the infirmary. The Professor was waking up from his coma. We all jumped from our places and went right over to him.
"He's awake!"
Next moment we were all looking down at him with pure joy on our faces. Storm was passing by the infirmary at the time and she heard our cries and she came running in as soon as she heard them.
"Thank goodness," she said, beyond relieved, tears coming out of her eyes.
The Professor was looking at all of us with a huge smile on his face.
"Nice welcome committee," he said.
Storm said "It's good to have you back Professor."
The Professor said "It's good to be back, My Friend."
"You really scared us there," Jubilee said.
The Professor said "I know, Jubilee, and I'm sorry for that. I shouldn't have left my guard down with Sabertooth like that."
"It wasn't your fault, Professor," Nightcrawler said.
At that same moment I saw all of the faces around me and the happiness in them. The rest of the day I did some thinking while I was in the library. Then during my time in the time while I was in the greenhouse I came to a decision I wasn't going to tell them about the baby.

It was lost to me for such a long time. Only recently when I was going through my desk I finally found it. So look out fellas! Here comes all the delayed uploads you've been waiting for!

September 11th has come and gone once again. I was very young when it happened. Don't know about all of you, but I certainly was really scared. One minute I was at elementary school in class and the next my parents are pulling me out, taking my little sister and I home. That's when we learned the truth. The Twin Towers we'd see all the time whenever we traveled outside the city limits on road trips would no longer be there. We were stunned when we'd seen them destroyed on TV. Those trips were never the same again just like the lives of millions. In honor for the people that fell that day and to those still struggling to survive from the aftermath I suggest a moment of respective silence. I think we all can use that.

I have other grand news! I was a patron at New York Comic Con! Ah! I'd been dying to go for years and now I had the opportunity. The Jokers from Impractical Jokers have been here along with Tom Hiddleston and so many others. Over those few days I actually got my picture taken with a couple of other actors/actresses and some really great panels. It really is so exciting there. This is an opportunity of a lifetime so there's no way in hell that I was going to waste a single second of it. No one ever should with something like this. Ever! ;D
For future preferences I highly recommend that you all keep an eye out for when tickets for New York Comic Con are available for purchase again for next year. This is a huge event and you should jump on it whenever you have the chance.
