Chapter 12: Help

"I'm going to turn you into a Super Saiyan."

Vegeta stared at Bulma's confident face and body language as he listened to her declaration and would have barked with laughter if his ribs weren't hurting. "Unless you are a witch I don't see how you are capable of such a thing."

Bulma ignored his ignorant dismissal and scanned the training room they were standing in. "Is this your training room or your fathers?"

Vegeta gave her his back as he reached for another container of water. After he chugged down its soothing contents he let out the word, "Mine."

Bulma walked over to the wall and knocked on the metal, not very impressed with its making. "What if I can build you one better?"

Vegeta turned his head to the side and narrowed his eyes suspiciously at her. "What do you know of combat training rooms?"

"I don't know anything about them. But necessity is the mother of all inventions Vegeta. And you need to become a Super Saiyan. You need a challenge in your training...and I can give it to you."

Amused once again he ignored the pain in his left arm and crossed it with his right as he turned his body to face her. "Can you?"

"I not only can but I will."

"Alright Woman I'll humor you. Draw me up some plans and we will go from there. Now feel free to leave." He ended by nodding to the door.

Bulma smirked at him and swiveled her hips in a teasing way. "Feel free to watch me leave Vegeta."

Watch her he did until she closed the metal door behind her. Finally alone he allowed the shaking in his legs to be freed from his forced will as he slid back to the ground. He clutched his side as he was now sure that his ribs needed medical attention. He should have made his way to a tank earlier but he did not want to seem like a weakling in front of Bulma. He growled in annoyance at his father's embarrassing words to get to a tank in front of his 'fake' girlfriend. Regardless of the status of their relationship he was not going to ever let her view him any less than the strong prince he was...

Meanwhile...

Nappa stood before his Queen with a proud smirk on his face. It was hard to please the royals so when he was actually able to accomplish such a feat it really made his ego soar.

"You are certain?"

"I've been keeping close tabs on all of them. I overheard a conversation that the prince had with the boy. His intentions are clear."

The Queen smirked at her loyal subject. "Good job. Now wait until tomorrow when the boys are out of school and send Kakarot to me."

"As you wish your highness."

The Next day at school nothing happened out of ordinary that is until Nappa approached Kakarot in the courtyard after school. His brothers were more than curious as to why the Queen was summoning their little brother but no one was more curious than Kakarot himself. His mind was whirling with possible reasons of why the Queen only wanted to speak to him. His curiosity only grew leaps and bounds when he was finally bowing before the Queen in her war room.

"It is good to see you Kakarot."

"You as well your highness."

Queen Cellena raised her hand in a motion for Kakarot to rise which he did. "So tell me Kakarot, how has the Earthlings taken your past destructions?"

Kakarot wasn't expecting that. He was hesitant to respond and the Queen saw this. "Come now Kakarot, do not forget that I am your Queen."

Kakarot sighed as he figured why she called for him. "I cannot speak for Bulma."

Cellena chuckled at his assumption. "And what of your...girlfriend?"

Kakarot's eyes became large at the question. "She...is thinking over our current relationship."

"And she hasn't spat her hatred at you. I find that fascinating. You must have really ruled her emotions for her to still be attached to you. I would have tried to cut our lying tongue if I were her."

Kakarot became nervous all over again at the Queen's odd behavior. "If there is not anything else your highness-"

"But there is. You see Kakarot, I want to help you."

"You do?"

"Yes well...my husband your King is not pleased with me. He feels that I have over stepped my boundaries by telling Bulma the truth of her planets demise. I wish to please him."

"And how can I be of service to you?"

"How far have you gotten into your relationship with this girl?"

Kakarot stiffened. "I'm not sure-"

"Have you had relations with her?"

"What? No!"

"Did you plan on making this girl your mate?" Kakarot's face turned red and the Queen chuckled. "Kakarot your biggest flaw has always been that you are too easy to read. So you have already made a proposition to her?"

Kakarot hung his head in a defeated sigh, "Yes."

"You know that you need an approval of a royal?"

"Yes."

"Well you have mine."

Kakarot's head snapped up in shock then he narrowed his eyes in suspicion. If there is anything he learned about his people was that Saiyans always have ulterior motives. And from firsthand experience he knew that all of the royals were more capable of that than anyone.

"I don't understand why you would do-"

"Are you questioning my mercy?"

"No I-"

"Saiyans rarely give it Kakarot. You should cherish it, especially mercy from a royal, and even more so from your Queen."

"Yes your Highness."

"Now I only demand that you tell me immediately after you have mated her. I am to be the first to know. Understood?"

"Yes."

"Good. Now you may go."

Kakarot bowed to the Queen before he left not knowing if he should feel more concerned or relieved. He was debating that as he walked down the palace walls and didn't stop until he heard a familiar voice.

"What did she want Kakarot?"

"Vegeta I-"

"Do not forget that I will be King so your loyalty should always lie with me. Now what did she want?"

Kakarot was offended that his lifelong friend would even think to say such a thing. He faced him angry with the slight threat and also still upset about what happened the day before. "She didn't want anything from me. All she did was do what you refused to do."

Vegeta blinked at him in surprise then growled at him in anger. "Are you a complete fool or is it just a hobby of yours?"

"I am serious about Chichi."

"My mother clearly is about to use you for whatever plot she is about to work on. The last thing you need to do is what she encourages even if it is something you want to do."

"Well it can't be any worse than how things are now. Goodbye Vegeta."

Vegeta grabbed Kakarot's arm before he could walk away. "You cannot mate the wench!" He seethed out.

Kakarot snatched his arm back and bared his teeth right back at Vegeta. "Well I don't need your permission now do I?"

"You will regret this!"

"Is this really about me or something else?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You have always been a competitive person Vegeta. I know it annoys you that my relationship with Chichi is moving forward while you and Bulma are obviously at odds."

Vegeta clenched his fists as he 'slightly' fought the urge to punch his comrade. "The woman and I are together."

Kakarot snorted. "You must really do believe me to be a fool. I see right through the both of you and it's only a matter of time before everyone else does."

"We shall see." Vegeta said as he turned away from Kakarot determined to let him fall to whatever demise his mother had planned.

Later that evening Chichi walked into her home and kicked off her shoes. She walked into the small living room of her home and smiled at her father who had waited up for her. "Hello Dad. Business was really good today. We'll be in the restaurant district in no time."

The Ox King nervously rubbed his hands on his knees. "I'm sorry I haven't been to the restaurant lately Chichi."

"Don't worry about it Dad. I got everything under control."

"Chichi please sit down."

Chichi subconsciously touched the ring that still hung on the chain that was hidden underneath her shirt. She sat down across from her dad nervously as if he could sense the ring. For the first time she could feel the weight of it on her breast plate almost stinging her with the guilt of keeping the secret from her father. "Wh-what is it Dad?"

"Chichi you must forgive me. I thought I could live a life with you here and not have to be burdened by Saiyans. After the destruction of Earth we really had no place to go, but to the world that caused it all. I am sorry to tell you that I never truly wanted the restaurant to become successful because the very idea of serving Saiyans...it just didn't...I'm sorry to not believe or support your dream."

Chichi felt like glass shattered all around her. She had thought her father shared the same dream. "I never knew. You never said anything."

"You loved cooking so much...you reminded me of your mother and I didn't want to take that away from you...or myself I guess."

"Oh Dad. Don't feel bad." Why did her life have to be so complicated?

The Ox King took off his glasses and wiped his eyes as tears sprung to his eyes. "I...I have to tell you that I think it would be best if we relocate to another planet."

"What? You want us to leave planet Vegeta?"

"There is nothing but pain for us here. If we stay then we will have no choice but to mix with the Saiyans. I had always desired to move but I didn't have the funds. But now because of what happened with your friend and the success we can finally sell the restaurant and leave. Don't you want to be far away from Kakarot?"

"No." She said quickly surprising herself and her father.

The Ox King was shocked but quickly became worried. "Chichi he-"

"You don't have to tell me dad, I'm the one who told you." She said cutting him off.

"I know you have feelings for this boy but you must realize that he was toying with you."

"That's not the kind of person he is."

"Chichi, your mother died because of his actions."

"And not yours?"

"What?"

Chichi sucked in her breath and pushed forward with the question that was bothering her for years. "Where were you? All you have ever told me was that she died because a Saiyan monster destroyed our home. But why weren't you there to protect her or get her out?"

The Ox King was quiet for a moment. He had years of pain bottled inside of him. He really hadn't released any of it until he attacked Kakarot. But even with that fight he could still feel the pressure of the burden on his back. "I was out trying to find my Master. We had heard of the attack and he was the best fighter I knew. You were with one of the nannies. They had gotten you out but your mother she was waiting for me to return but I was too late..."

Chichi busted into tears. "Oh Dad I'm sorry." She fell onto him crying and he embraced her as their tears fell on each other.

After a while the Ox King pulled away from her. "We have to leave. You need to say goodbye to Bulma."

Chichi wiped her eyes and looked down. "Dad...I am still angry with Kakarot-but I"

"Chichi you will find someone else." He said cutting her off as the air around them switched from comforting to intensity. "You will forget him in time."

Chichi stood up and nodded her head. She went straight to her room and then collapsed on her bed. Could she leave Kakarot and never see him again? She wished so much at that moment that she and Bulma weren't fighting. She had even thought of throwing it all out the window but Bulma had made her so mad. How could she turn around and want to do the very same thing that the Saiyans did to her? Chichi just wanted it all to stop. The manipulation, the secrets, the purges, she just wanted things to be like how it was on the beach that day. She couldn't remember a time in her life when she was that happy.

Then she realized she couldn't remember a time in her life that she was happier than when she was with Kakarot. But her father wanted to leave and she wasn't ready to. She didn't know if she was ready to look past the hurt, but she did know that she still loved Kakarot and always would. The Saiyan culture was an extremely male dominated one. If she married Kakarot then her father's decision wouldn't matter. Kakarot in so many words would actually own her especially because she was an alien and he was a Saiyan.

Chichi took off the necklace and fingered the ring as if it would give her the answers she needed. "If I leave then I will never see him again. If I stay...I'll stay with him forever. This wasn't supposed to be like this! I was supposed to have time to think about this. I don't know what to do."

On a deserted part of the planet...

Vegeta landed in front of Bulma eyeing her like she was a crazy person. She was leaning against an air bike looking at him with her usual arrogant confidence. "Woman please explain to me why I am meeting you in the middle of nowhere?"

"Hello to you too Vegeta."

Vegeta crossed his arms. "I don't have all night Woman. Get on with it."

Bulma rolled her eyes and pulled a capsule out of her breast plate. "You Saiyans are so impatient." She said right before she threw the capsule behind her. A moment later a small house-like structure appeared.

Vegeta raised an eyebrow in mocking amusement. "Is this my new training facility that will make me into a Super Saiyan?"

Bulma walked toward the door. "Don't be ridiculous Vegeta. You asked for plans and I will show you plans. Please come inside."

Vegeta walked in after her and was surprised to see that he walked into a rather impressive laboratory. There was a small bathroom, kitchen and bed off to the side but the rest was a small lab with all the fixings. Bulma and her family had practically settled into the palace after that meeting with his father. So between the palace and school he was very curious on how Bulma had the time to make such a thing.

"Training hour."

"What?"

"I know what you were thinking. While you and all of your fellow Saiyans are off fighting each other that always gives me enough time to build whatever it is that I want or need."

"And this is what you have been up to?"

"Vegeta this didn't take me long. Seriously I could have your room done for you in a few days if I had the proper materials."

"Speaking of that; show me what you have Woman."

"With pleasure." She walked over to a table where plans were already drawn up. Vegeta stood beside her and examined the diagram. "For one, your walls are nowhere near as strong as they could be. So I started with that idea and then I thought well, you need to be able to fight someone. So I designed these reflective panels that will shoot your energy blasts back at you. When that program is activated the panels would bounce the energy from one panel to the other and they will also be chosen at random so you won't be able to tell where it's going to be coming from. Then I thought that would really add pressure to your training. And of course the word pressure got stuck into my head so I thought, 'hey lets add to the gravity!' So you'll be able to train in 50x the planets gravity...at least for now until I can increase it. But it's best to do it little by little."

Vegeta hated to admit it but he was beyond impressed. "You have actually proven yourself to be useful Woman."

"I'll take that as, 'you're amazing Bulma I had no idea you were this brilliant'." She said as she hopped up on the table.

"Your words not mine."

"But that doesn't mean that you don't think it's true." She said in a sing song voice.

Vegeta rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "Whatever. I'm assuming that you chose to reveal this to me out here because you want to keep this from my father?"

"Well I kind of get the feeling that he would want one first. So I at least thought I should show it to you before I told him about it."

"You presumed correctly." Vegeta then quickly but smoothly placed his palms on the table trapping Bulma between him and said table. He took pleasure in her slight squirm of un-surety of his actions. He smirked and then said, "And you are doing all of this to...seduce me?"

Bulma really was starting to hate that stupid smirk. "Don't need to if you have already been seduced Vegeta."

He moved closer to her, only a breath away from her lips, teasing and challenging her at the same time. "Is that so?"

Bulma's breath quickened as she forced her brain to take control of her body and not lean into those surprisingly soft yet firm lips. It was very hard to resist him. But she was not some weak kneed girl and she was going to show him who he was messing with. She wrapped her hands around his neck, but not before sliding her hands slowly up chiseled chest. "That's a fact Vegeta." She said sending him her own smirk.

They stood there for a moment, secretly willing the other to make that final move so that they could deem themself the winner and enjoy their victorious kiss. But unfortunately their pride was evenly matched and with Bulma's scouter going off it caused their game of seduction to end in a tie. Bulma turned her head and let go of Vegeta as he stepped away from her annoyed, angry and disappointed that Bulma didn't give in.

Bulma was feeling the same way and was not going to be very happy with the person calling her.

"Yea?"

"Bulma it's Chichi."

Bulma rolled her eyes. "What is it Chi? I'm busy." She snapped.

There was a slight pause at the other end. "Bulma I need to talk to you."

Bulma crossed her arms as if she was standing right in front of her friend. "Ready to apologize?"

"What? No I-"

"Well then there is nothing to talk about." Bulma said turning off her scouter. Part of her felt really bad for what she just did, but she couldn't risk getting into a conversation with Chichi about what they were arguing about while standing in front of Vegeta. Besides, if she left right away, Vegeta would only become curious.

"You Earthlings should stick together. There aren't too many of you left."

Bulma looked back to him and was about to say some nasty words but realized that the look on his face told her that he was actually sincere. But it was still none of his business. "Well excuse me Vegeta, but I have the feeling that if the roles were reversed you would hardly have the best relationships with your few Saiyan comrades."

"Woman do not assume that you know me."

"I know enough. So anyways, tomorrow I will present these plans to your father and as soon as I get the ok I will start building you one."

"As much as I would prefer to be the only one with this kind of technology, it would be impossible to hide."

An idea struck Bulma's mind. "Well actually we can hide it if you truly want to."

Vegeta raised an eyebrow at her. "You have my undivided attention."

"Well the answer is simple Vegeta. "She outstretched her hands in a gesture for him to look around. "Capsulation. You could hide your gravity room in the palm of your hand."

"And where would I put it? You honestly don't expect me to come out to the desert every day."

"You can hide it within your own training room. Like I said, it's simple; all you have to do is order a couple of your many servants to make your room spacious enough to accommodate a second training room. And the best part is that if someone asks you why you just tell them the truth. You believe that the added space will help you become stronger."

Vegeta gave her a devilish smirk of approval. "Clever. But there is one thing Woman, I want this done as soon as possible and an hour during school will more than likely drag this out for too long so we are going to have to spend a deal more time together."

Bulma didn't understand why his words excited her. They shouldn't have and she told herself that it was only because she was excited about the project. "What do you have in mind?"

"We will use this relationship we have as a cover for you building my training room. My parents, especially my father won't be suspicious if they believe that I am simply trying to get between your legs."

Bulma sneered at his remark. "You are."

Vegeta chuckled and stepped close to her. "Woman when the time comes, and believe me one day it will, I won't have to try at all."

"You're such a disgusting animal." Bulma seethed.

Vegeta kissed her then, it was hard and demanding but it still did the job and made Bulma's knees knock. He pulled away from her, satisfied with her response. "No Woman, I'm a Saiyan and don't you ever forget it. Now let's get to work." He turned away from her then and looked at the blue prints as if nothing just happened.

Bulma touched her lips for a second then quickly stood beside him. At that moment she couldn't help think that perhaps she should have talked to Chichi, because if he kept kissing her like that she was unsure if she could stick to the plan and leave her emotions aside...

Meanwhile...

Chichi didn't know what else to do or who else to turn to. Everything was all wrong. Her father had changed, her best friend had changed, and her boyfriend...he hadn't changed but he kept something from her. But compared to the other two, he was the only person she could depend on.

Chichi was waiting for him in her restaurant. She had told her father that she needed some time alone there to say goodbye and he let her go without a second thought. She sat at the kitchen counter looking at her reflection in the cool metal. This was the one place where she actually felt close to her mother. What would she say about marrying the person that killed her? And what would she say about running away? Would she forgive Kakarot and allow the union or curse them both for the betrayal?

But even with the betrayal Kakarot was the only one she could talk to now. Wasn't that a good thing that you can depend on someone when you were at your lowest? Because she couldn't think it could get worse.

A knock at the back door brought her out of her thoughts. She looked up and breathed out a shaky nervousness that settled within her. And said, "Come in."

Kakarot came inside and closed the door behind him. Chichi was surprised to see that he was in another alien outfit. This time tan pants and an orange button down shirt. She knew that was his way of openly saying that he was going to push his Saiyan side away, but he was still a Saiyan no matter what he wore.

"Chichi I'm glad you called." He said sitting across from her.

Chichi cleared her throat and decided to get right to the point. "Kakarot, my father wants to leave the planet."

Shock seized his body. "What?"

"He wants me to go with him."

"No." He said panicked as he stood up and grabbed her as he kissed her deeply. Again and again he kissed her lips, pouring his desperation into her. He had said all he thought he needed to say earlier. He gave her a speech with emotions believing that it was the best way to approach an Earthling but now his Saiyan instincts were taking over and he quickly became a man of action.

Chichi couldn't help but respond. Her emotions were everywhere and the way he was kissing her was taking her mind off of everything. All she wanted was to feel those warm lips touch hers again. And she sighed with relief when she felt them again and again.

When Kakarot finally stopped he placed both of his warm hands on either side of her face. "Listen to me, I will not lose you. If I have to follow after you and let your father beat me every day until he drills out his anger then so be it."

"Kakarot our future-"

"Is with each other. I won't have it any other way. Marry me, tonight."

Chichi didn't want to fight it anymore. She wanted him, she always did and she knew that she always will.

"Yes." She breathed against his lips as they kissed one another again.

Author's Note: How is everyone going to react to Chichi and Kakarot eloping? I'll give you an idea...pure anger and harsh words will be present in the next chapter. What is the Queen up to, whom by the way I gain inspiration from Victoria Grayson on Revenge...love that show. And what about Vegeta and Bulma? Can they really spend that much time together and not fall into temptation? We shall see. Please Review!
