Chapter 17: Falling

"Who is this alien and who gave her permission to speak to me so formally?"

Cold; that was the best way to describe the sudden fear that fell upon Bulma. It was almost like she had fallen into the deepest dark part of the deepest ocean in the entire galaxy. And the despair was slowly crushing her from this cold heavy death. All because she was standing in a room a few feet away from the man she loved and he looked like he didn't know her at all. The only other explanation was that he was pulling another prank so she hesitantly said the next words very carefully.

"Vegeta that's not funny."

Vegeta sneered at the offending girl. "I don't make jokes alien. Mother, who is this annoying girl?"

Even though the Queen was glad that he couldn't remember Bulma, the idea of her son not remembering at all worried her as a mother. "Vegeta what is the last thing you remember?"

Vegeta looked confused. He blinked a coupled times and found that he was having a hard time when a light bulb went off in his expression. "You were giving me hell for torturing that Tien kid."

"What day is it?"

"It's the 8th day of the 3rd month. Why?"

Bulma became pale and had to steady herself on a nearby table. "That's the day I started school."

Vegeta raised an eyebrow at the meddling girl. "So?"

She felt it again, that crushing, cold, wet despair. She tried to push it back down but it was starting to rise up in her throat and she barely managed to get out, "You don't remember me?"

"I've never seen you before in my life..."

Her legs shook and she would have fallen completely if she wasn't already leaning on the table.

Vegeta narrowed his eyes at her. "...although you do look familiar...oh right! Now I remember."

Relief instantly washed over Bulma but her heart was still pounding. "Don't scare me like that-"

"You're the alien that stopped Tien from ending his life. Yes your coloring is odd enough to recognize. But why you are here in my medical chamber is a complete mystery."

Bulma's mouth fell open and she could barely breathe.

The Queen smiled and turned to her. "Leave."

Bulma's eyes became large as she found her voice. "No I have to stay! He has to remember me!"

Vegeta chuckled at that. "She talks to the Queen in a disrespectful manner as well and still lives? I'm impressed."

The last thing the Queen needed was for Vegeta to fall for the girl all over again. "Guards!" A second later two burly Saiyans came in. "Take Bulma to her quarters and do not let her leave until I say so."

Bulma panicked as the two strong Saiyans grabbed her arms and started to drag her out the room. "No don't! Vegeta please! Let me go! Don't do this!"

Vegeta watched the girl kick, scream and desperately reach out toward him and felt uncomfortable. Something about that scene actually disturbed him when normally something like that would have amused him. He could hear her screams from the hall and caught a whiff of her salty tears in the air. All of it made him feel uneasy. "Who is she?"

The Queen sighed; there really was no ignoring this. "Vegeta grab a scouter and look at the date."

A nearby doctor who witnessed the whole thing took off his and handed it to the Prince. Vegeta snatched it from him and placed it on. Once he saw the actual date he was in total shock.

"This is impossible! What's going on?"

The same doctor stepped forward. "It appears that you may need to go into the tank for a little longer. There must be damage to your temporal lobes which is where your memory functions are."

The Queen formed an idea and said, "What happens if he doesn't?"

The doctor sputtered a bit at the odd question. "Then he will more than likely heal eventually but it is hard to say."

"Well it appears to be that the only thing that you don't remember son is that horrible girl."

"I have lost time Mother." Vegeta bit out.

"And trust me when I tell you that all that time was spent with her."

"You're not making any sense. Why would I spend all of my time with an alien?"

"I can't force you to not heal your own body but before you decide to be a slave to her emotions again I suggest you consider reading up on the two of you first."

"Reading up on the two of us? You're not making any sense Mother."

"Read the media wave. Trust me after you do, you're not going to want to remember her." With that the Queen left out to go report to the King and left Vegeta to ponder what was going on. He debated to go back into the tank and just forget everything his mother had said, after all she could be playing some stupid game. But still the way that the alien had acted to him was completely unnerving. And that is the only reason why ended up leaving the tanks and finding out exactly what his mother was talking about...

Three days later, Bulma was in her own personal hell. She and her family were completely quarantined. The Queen even had all of her things taken away, scouters, electronics, everything. She couldn't go to school or the lab and no one could visit her either. Her parents were freaking out, continuously asking her questions and hoping that she would have answers that she didn't actually have. For the first time they felt like prisoners and there was nothing that could be done until Vegeta made a decision to have her in his life or not. At this point she didn't know if she was going to be sent away to another planet or what. All she could do was pray to the God of the Universe that he would remember her.

But her wait was now over. Nappa was sent to retrieve Bulma and escort her to Vegeta. As Bulma looked down at her attire she was so relieved that she had listened to her mother. Every day her mother would tell her to put on a pretty dress because sooner or later Vegeta would come for her. So she did, even though all she wanted to do was crawl into bed and cry again. But her mother once again knew what she was talking about.

After turning down a few halls Bulma realized where they were going. She felt nervous when Nappa finally knocked on Vegeta's training room door.

"Enter."

She heard and her heart started pounding. Nappa opened the door and walked in and Bulma timidly followed behind him.

"You may go Nappa."

Nappa bowed and left out leaving the two teenagers inside. Vegeta looked Bulma up and down and said nothing for a long time. Bulma tried to hide her unsteady nerves and said, "I'm so glad you sent for me."

"I've read the media wave."

Bulma felt saddened. She had hoped he remembered something, but she assumed that he didn't, otherwise he wouldn't have sent Nappa to get her in the first place. He would have come to her himself to collect his Woman. As she looked at his analyzing face she knew the truth; her Vegeta wasn't there yet.

"At first I was confused as to why I would let an alien become so close to me and also to let it be known publically."

"And then...?"

"Then I found this."

He opened his hand and she saw the small white capsule. "Oh...you found the gravity room capsule."

"Yes I did. It was obvious that you were the one to have done it. Especially seeing as Bardock is still working on mine. So once I discovered this I realized the truth..."

"The truth?"

"Yes that you were actually working for me. It's a clever plan, pretending to be my lover so that you can secretly build things for me."

"No that's not it at all!"

"You're telling me that our relationship wasn't farce?"

Bulma had to control her breathing because she was starting to feel the panicked falling sensation again. "Our relationship was not fake, at least not in the beginning."

"Or was it that I was allowing you to believe that I had more emotions for you and then you later realized it?"

"Yes that did happen...but it's not what you think Vegeta!"

She was slammed against the wall and the back of her head greeted the metal steel painfully. But the untrusting look that Vegeta was giving her hurt even worse.

"Who are you to raise your voice at me and call me by my name? I am a prince and I can snap that pretty little neck of yours and won't think anything of it." He squeezed her neck in an effort to show that he wasn't kidding.

Bulma wheezed a bit. "You're hurting me."

"So?"

"Let me go."

"Now you're giving commands? Haha. You are a foolish one. I see why you were so easily manipulated." He let her go and smirked at the pain he caused her.

Bulma didn't know who this person was. It was like he was the cruel kid she had met on her first day. She didn't think she would ever see him again. The last time they were in that situation he had ended up kissing her. Now he was looking at her like she see was some kind of joke.

"Listen girl-"

'Girl?'

"-our game is over but you will not speak of the gravity room to anyone."

Bulma rubbed her throat and glared at him. "I won't tell anyone, but you will never treat me like that again."

Vegeta found her response quite amusing. "Or what?"

Bulma didn't feel like fighting. All she had wanted to do for months was to just be in his arms, but that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. She had no choice but to start from the beginning. "I am not someone you want as an enemy."

Vegeta laughed out loud on that one. "I welcome the challenge Woman, but in the meantime, keep your mouth shut about the gravity room and learn some respect or next time I won't be so nice."

Bulma turned on her heels and walked to the door. Before she left out, she looked back to him, hurt evident in her eyes. "When you get your memories back, you are going to be really sorry Vegeta."

Vegeta wanted to say, 'Doubt it' but the way she was looking at him made that unnerving feeling come back to him. So he just stared back and said, "Leave." Bulma did so and he exhaled. He had read the entire media wave and was still surprised that he did. He usually stayed away from that garbage but every story was more and more unusual. He was in complete shock when he saw himself in alien clothing on a 'date' with her. None of it made any sense why he would go to such lengths. 3 days he pondered over it, reading, re-reading every article for some reason other than, 'The Prince falls in love with the Alien Princess'. It all seemed like some kind of big joke. But then he found it. The Gravity room. The girl was a genius so of course he would use that to his advantage. It was clear that he used her and she wasn't fully aware of it.

That was obvious as she came in with that dress and her hair down. If he had to choose an alien he chose the right one, because she was extremely appealing; her scent, those eyes, her soft skin, her body. It was extremely hard not to kiss those trembling lips when he had her against the wall. He wanted so badly to bury his hand into her soft hair and kiss her.

But it was good that he didn't because she no doubt was too emotionally attached to him. It must have taken her a long time to build the gravity room because he clearly had to let her believe that he had some feelings for her in order for her to be that attached. Sure he has had fans and admirers, but this girl was different. It would be best if he kept his distance from her.

Not too long after, his parents summoned him for dinner. This was something that they had been doing the past few days since he came out of the tank. He didn't really care, but his mother was starting to annoy him.

"I heard you met with the Briefs girl."

"So what about it?"

"Are you interested in her?"

Vegeta rolled his eyes. "I don't know why you are so concerned. It was all an act. I do not believe that I cared for the girl nor do I have any interest in her now. The media blows things out of proportions all the time and mother you always exaggerate things."

The Queen and King looked at each other. Then the King asked,

"So you don't care to go back inside the tank?"

"I don't see the point to waste my time with it. I have my strength and my knowledge and that's all I need."

"Your decision is fine with me but I am curious as to why you made the choice to fight the kemono by yourself."

"The challenge of course! What other reason could there possibly be?"

"Good point."

The Queen smiled happily at her son's choice. Now it was time to kick things up a notch. "So while you were away there was one girl that fought with you while you were in battle. She actually survived as well."

Vegeta normally didn't care about any girl his mother brought up, but he knew that last mission was a hard one. Few men survived so this was really saying something. "Who is she?"

"Her name is Chaya. The two of you became quite close on the trip if I'm not mistaken."

"She's an elite?"

"Top of her class. I know that you were never keen on mating before but it would be good to find a nice Saiyan girl to settle with. Especially with your previous romance plastered across the media wave. The elders need to know that they don't have to worry about the heir to the throne."

"I usually don't agree with you mother but I see your point. This alien princess thing has gotten out of control. Have Chaya start at the school I will squash this thing in no time." Finished with his meal and eager to get back to his gravity room he bowed to his parents and left the room. Once he was gone the King looked to his wife.

"You didn't try to convince him that his relationship with Bulma wasn't a game?"

"Neither did you my King."

"He's going to be furious with you when his memories come back."

"If they come back at all. Hopefully he'll be happily mated to Chaya by then."

"Keep in mind that Vegeta is not one of your many pawns. He is heir to the throne so be careful how you cross him."

"Trust me my King; I have Vegeta's best interests in mind."

The Next Morning...

Vegeta eyed Chaya in the school courtyard. He could tell that she was a fighter but her build and her looks weren't too bad either.

"So you are my mother's new pet?"

"Not at all. I'm determined to be your most trusted ally."

Vegeta couldn't help but snort. "Well you might be the most amusing one if you think I will actually trust anyone especially someone that my mother recommends."

Chaya clinched her jaw in frustration. She was hoping that his loss of memory would be in her favor but it appears that she was still being treated the same. But all Saiyans appreciated challenges. "I am still determined Your Highness. And you will soon see that I am completely loyal to you. You are my future King; you need not worry about me."

"I'm not worried but I am curious. But come now, I do have use of you. There are rumors that need to be abolished."

Chaya smirked at that. "Whatever you will like Your Highness."

Bulma was finally back at school and everything seemed like it was normal. She thought of avoiding the foyer but didn't want to seem like she was running. But she also didn't want to seem like she was waiting either so she decided to time her walking down the hall and passing the foyer as F4, excluding Kakarot, would walk in. She waited by a random locker as everyone ran to go bow to the royals. Once the screams hushed she knew they were inside. So she exhaled a shaky breath and started walking. By the time they were starting to exit the foyer she passed them and slyly glanced over her shoulder to make it seem like she didn't care. But her steps paused as she saw Vegeta with another girl and his tail wrapped around her waist. For a brief moment Vegeta's eyes locked on hers and she wanted to go over there and smack him for disrespecting her and their relationship, but she had to remind herself that this wasn't her Vegeta...not yet. But she couldn't stand to see his tail around anyone else so she walked away.

On her way to class she could hear whispers and chuckles and knew that people were talking about the new Saiyan couple while laughing at her. She felt weak and vulnerable for the first time at the school and couldn't take it any longer.

Before Raditz walked inside their first class she called for him to meet her outside. He already knew what she was going to say.

"Raditz you have to tell Vegeta-"

"I can't."

"Why?"

"After we found out about his memory loss the Queen sent Nappa to threaten me. Told me not to speak to Vegeta about you or I would be banished."

Bulma thought she had been strong, but she felt herself crumbling. The Queen was more formidable than she thought. She could feel that she was nearing her breaking point. "I can't go on like this. He...he has to remember me."

Raditz didn't like any of this either. Today was the first day he had even seen Vegeta, and he could tell that his mother was pulling every single one of his strings. "Well maybe we can make him remember you."

"How?"

"Reenact some of the moments you had with him."

Bulma wanted throw her hands in the air. "If I spray root beer in his face he will probably kill me."

"Well choose something different."

"If I show up with a bikini he'll think I'm offering him sex."

"Well do something else that was a turning point in your relationship."

"I don't know. It sounds silly and probably won't even work."

"Well that's all I got."

Bulma rolled her eyes with frustration and walked into class. She didn't want to risk embarrassing herself in front of Vegeta and making things awkward. She was going to save that for when she became desperate.

Bulma had thought about skipping the rest of her classes but once again she didn't want to seem like she was running away from Vegeta and his new girl, Chaya. It didn't take her long to find out who this girl was. A 15 minute bathroom break was all she needed to get a summary on the girl's life story. The only thing that upset her was that she was with Vegeta while he was gone. If she wasn't jealous before she was now. She didn't understand how things could escalate so quickly with them. Did something happen in space and she reminded him of it? Did he remember Chaya and not her? Did they have sex? Were they having sex?

She had to tell herself to calm down and to act normal, but when she walked into her Royal History class and saw Chaya sitting in the seat that was next to hers she immediately wished that she had gone with the skipping idea. The hushed whispers made the room vibrant with silence. Bulma still held up her chin and walked in like she wasn't bothered. She could practically feel the gasps and gossip floating around. She even heard someone say,

"Battle going down..."

Bulma was determined to completely ignore Chaya but she had other plans.

"I've heard a lot about you."

"Have you now?"

"It's hard not to. The 'Alien Princess' had a nice ring to it."

"Had?"

"Yes haven't you heard? You're old news."

Bulma heard some nearby students gasp and heard something to the equivalent of 'She just got blasted'.

Bulma shrugged her shoulders. "Chaya you neither worry nor impress me."

'The blast was just shot back!'

Chaya chuckled. "But the Queen is and Vegeta will be."

Bulma smiled sweetly at her. "Keep up the confidence Vegeta likes that in a woman."

Chaya shook her head. "I thought you wouldn't have given him up so easily. Would have at least expected a threat, but I have to keep in mind that you're not a Saiyan."

The teacher was coming in and was about to give the order of silence so there was only time for one last comment. So with an air of arrogance that Bulma Briefs was given to naturally she flipped her lushes blue locks over her shoulder and raised her arched eyebrow. "Honey, I don't know all that much about Saiyans which is why I'm in this class, but I only give threats when I actually feel threatened."

Chaya's face turned red with fury and she was about to scream something but that's when the teacher came in.

"Silence Everyone! It's time to begin!"

Bulma winked at Chaya and then opened her books as she reveled in the fact that she had won that round and didn't even care that Chaya was sending waves of hatred her way. When class was over Chaya blocked Bulma's path in the hall and challenged her to a sparring match which Bulma replied with a laugh in her face. "Sweetie I'm a lover not a fighter. Ask Vegeta."

Students had gathered around and many were instigating a fight which only fueled Chaya on. "So you are a coward."

Bulma crossed her arms. "I just fight in a different manner."

"Yes your blackmailing acts. If that's not a cowardly act I don't know what is. A Saiyan-"

"I AM NOT A SAIYAN! I am an Earthling. I do not have the strength to fight you but if you want to challenge me then fine. But keep in mind that when I am done, you will wish that I was a Saiyan that could beat the crap out of you because that fight would have been more merciful."

Chaya stepped into her face glaring into her eyes. "So now you feel threatened."

Bulma glared right back. "No, I'm annoyed. And no one annoys Bulma Briefs."

"That's enough!"

The crowd broke apart and Chaya backed away and quickly bowed at the sound of the prince. Bulma was the only one still perpendicular to the ground. Vegeta eyed her with curiosity. He had heard enough of the conversation to know that either Bulma was extremely brave or extremely stupid to get into a confrontation with a woman that could snap her neck in two seconds. He thought of also reprimanding her for not bowing to him, but having anymore interaction with her would go against everything he was trying to do at the moment.

"Come Chaya." He said before turning and walking away. Bulma was more than disappointed that Vegeta didn't even scold her. He really was ignoring her. And it also didn't help that Chaya practically skipped after Vegeta but not before smirking at Bulma victoriously.

At the moment she took back what she thought earlier. Vegeta ignoring her and leaving with Chaya caused a slight urge of panic to seize through her...she was starting feel desperate. "Alright Raditz let's give this a try...

Later that Day Vegeta got a message from Raditz to meet him in his training room. Bulma had sent the message in a threatening manner so that she knew Vegeta wouldn't resist. Vegeta was doing his stretches anticipating giving Raditz a beating of his life for the disrespectful message that was given when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in Idiot!"

He was more than surprised to see Bulma all dolled up and in a black ball gown instead of the burly Saiyan. Her skin, makeup and hair were completely flawless. She looked absolutely gorgeous.

Bulma was glad that her mother had taken advantage of her housewife abilities and was able to repair her ball gown. It was a bit faded but the Rhine stones helped hide it. "I hacked into Raditz's scouter to get you here alone."

Vegeta didn't know whether to be annoyed or impressed. This girl was starting to confuse him. "What's the occasion?"

"You." Bulma said as she walked up to him keeping only a few feet between them.

"Are you so desperate to throw yourself at my feet?"

Bulma ignored the question and twirled around to give him a full view of the dress. "You bought me this dress so that I could escort you to your father's party."

"Yes I saw the media footage. But that does not explain why you manipulated me to come here and wear that dress."

"Isn't it obvious? I want you to remember me?"

"Why should I? What will I gain from remembering you?" He said circling her like she was some prey. He didn't understand this woman but there was something about her he couldn't place his finger on.

Bulma realized that he wasn't going to remember her by just seeing her so it was time for the next step. "You are good at reading people are you not?"

"Of course I am."

"You can tell when someone is lying to you?"

"I haven't met someone that has bested me yet." He said as he stood in front of her.

"Then you must believe me when I say this, I love you Vegeta."

"I'm flattered. But unfortunately you are not the first alien to sprout such words."

"I know, but what if I were to tell you that you love me too?"

"I would laugh in your pretty alien face."

"You said you could tell if someone was lying. I'm telling you the truth; you love me or at least I'm the closest that has ever gotten you to that emotion. I know I am. So tell me I'm lying."

Vegeta took a moment and read every single line of her face. He frowned at the truth written there. "Just because you believe something doesn't mean that it's true. It could just mean that you're crazy. Which I'm starting to think that-"

"Finger memory."

"What?"

"When someone plays an instrument it's impossible for the person to remember every single note and command their fingers to work for them fast enough. So the body becomes so familiar with it that it develops something called finger memory, where it's like the hands remember the notes."

"What does that have to-?"

Bulma grabbed his face and kissed him, it wasn't a crazy lust filled passionate kiss, but it was their kiss; that perfect kiss.

Vegeta responded to her like nothing was ever lost, like he had done before. His fingers trailed around her and he deepened the kiss like he had done it a million times. It seemed so right, so incredibly right.

Bulma pulled away and smiled. "Your body remembers me."

Vegeta wanted to fight her and tell her she sounded insane and also tell her to leave him alone, but all he could do was groan and kiss her again and again. He pressed her up against the nearest wall and deepened the kiss. He didn't understand what it was about this woman, but even when he was kissing her, he wanted to kiss her.

It seemed like they were stuck that way for a long time. Just kissing one another like it was something that they should be doing. Finally Vegeta pulled away and looked at her mesmerized. "Who are you?"

"I'm your woman." Bulma said hoping and wishing that he would call her that. She never thought she would actually miss him not calling her by her name.

Vegeta pressed himself closer to her soft skin and breathed in her delicious scent. "Your conclusions about me are false, but perhaps there is something to your tale. But there is something I am curious about; in the media footage there are numerous times where there are mentions of your purity. I find it hard to believe that I did not take you to my bed or at least some other girl while seeing you."

"You never did. Our relationship was pure."

Vegeta pulled back enough to stare at her eyes and read her face. "Why would I do that?"

"You respect me and my wishes."

"And you earned my respect by building me a machine?"

"Actually I earned your respect by embarrassing you at school and challenging your authority."

"What?"

"I was one of your red card victims and I fought back."

It was like someone threw a bucket of ice cold water on him.

'I could be ruining my own game and not even knowing it! Why didn't the sons of Bardock tell me this? This whole relationship could just be some sort of revenge plot.'

Vegeta stepped away from Bulma not paying attention to how cold he felt when he did. "I see. Well this has been an interesting night but it is time for me to take my leave." He said before he left out leaving Bulma alone.

She didn't understand why he left so quickly but she decided to take what victories she could. She touched her lips and smiled. He didn't remember but part of him did. And it was a step...

Vegeta didn't care how late it was he was going to get answers. He called the three boys to his room and he didn't realize till that moment that he really hadn't spoken to them at all. Especially Kakarot. It was still hard to believe that the virgin was mated and was about to have his first kid. That was insane in itself. But when he asked the 3 of them about Bulma being one of his victims all they did was look at each other like idiots.

"Why aren't the three of you talking?"

Turles crossed his arms and looked away. "The Queen ordered us not to say anything."

Vegeta knew there was more to his mother's 'concern'. "What's the punishment?"

"Banishment."

"You can't be serious?"

"It's the truth." Raditz sighed out.

Vegeta was getting more annoyed by the second. First he loses his memories, then his mother acts weird, then she was throwing Chaya in his face, and then there was Bulma which was getting increasingly complicated and now this.

"What is so special about this girl that my mother would go to such ridiculous lengths?"

"You like her."

"Kakarot?!" Turles and Raditz yelled at the same time.

"What? I have my wife, my child is on the way, I won't purge anymore so why does it matter if I leave? Besides Bulma was the best thing that ever happened to Vegeta. He'll thank me later."

"You're seriously throwing away your Saiyan heritage?" Turles sneered.

"We had been thinking about leaving anyways. Chichi and I don't like being in debt to the Queen. She scares me."

"You can have your family meeting elsewhere; concentrate on the matters at hand. Now what were you saying?" Vegeta growled.

"I said you like her...possibly even love her."

Vegeta laughed at hearing the 'L' word again. "That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard."

"It's true!"

"I more than likely was just trying to get under her training skirts."

"No it was more than that. When your parents told you to break up with her you became insanely jealous. You even made every male in the school ignore her, threatening them with death and so on. And when you finally allowed Raditz to speak with her you were going around attacking anyone that was near you. There may have been an ulterior motive in the beginning but trust me, you actually like her."

Vegeta looked at the other two idiots expecting them to call their brother a fool but only found them silently agreeing. He still didn't believe it. "If I like her so much then why did I leave?"

Raditz leaned into Kakarot and whispered in his ear. The Queen told him that he couldn't speak to Vegeta about Bulma; she said nothing about his own brother. Kakarot nodded then looked back to Vegeta.

"Raditz thinks that you were forced to or did it to throw your parents off from thinking that you still had feelings for her but only you would know the answer to that."

"All of this sounds incredibly stupid. To think I would do such things for a female and an alien one at that."

"Bulma is different."

"Apparently that whole female species is." Turles added snidely.

"You know one day I really hope you come across one." Kakarot said.

"The day I fall for an Earthling is the day I cut off my own tail."

"Oh I hope you find an Earthling." Raditz chimed in. Turles mumbled a 'whatever' as Kakarot continued on.

"Vegeta you can't mate Chaya you don't want her."

Frustrated with hearing the supposed truth, Vegeta exploded. "Don't tell me what I can't do and who I do or don't want! This whole empire has gone insane! Now out! All of you!"

The three brothers sighed and left out. Vegeta kicked over a chair and didn't know whether or not he had wished he had or hadn't gotten in that stupid tank. He had to find a solution to this as soon as possible or he was going to go insane...

Bulma didn't see Vegeta at school and was disappointed at that. Chaya kept her distance which was good and Raditz spilled the beans to her about Vegeta's meeting with him and his brothers last night. She was starting to feel hopeful again. She believed it would only be a matter of time before things went back to normal.

Later that day when the sun was close to setting she got a message to her scouter to meet Vegeta at the docking bay immediately. She was glad that she had on a white sundress and not just any sundress but the one she wore on their first date. She pulled her hair out of a pony tail and hopped in her air bike that she kept on her balcony. She was there in no time.

She spotted Vegeta leaning against the outside wall staring into the sky. He often did that, lean against some wall and be lost in deep thought. It was one of the many habits of Vegeta that she loved. She landed her bike and walked up to him.

The sun was about to set and it was casting this glow on Bulma that made her look even more beautiful than before. Vegeta held in a gasp when she flipped her hair over her shoulder and smiled at him. She was absolutely breath taking.

"You look decent Woman."

"Thank you Vegeta."

"I've asked my comrades about you and they told me quite a tale; A tale that appears to be true."

Bulma couldn't help the butterflies that swarmed in her belly. "What do you think about it?"

"I find it hard to believe. Seducing you into my bed I can believe but the feelings nonsense is absurd and it's causing me to think that my comrades don't know me as well as I thought they did."

"Vegeta you do have feelings for me or at least you did."

"There is something about you that I simply can't shake. And I also have a belief that even if I bedded you I would not be satisfied with the one time." Vegeta stepped closer to her and cradled her face in the palms of his hands. "No I want you entirely."

He kissed her then, so desperately that Bulma had to clutch his elbows to keep from swooning. It was their most passionate kiss to date. It seemed like it went on forever, neither one getting their fill of the passion that overflowed. Vegeta didn't pull away until the sun's light had disappeared bathing them in the night sky. He traced her bottom lip with his thumb. "Yes this just confirms my decision."

Bulma held her breath, 'God of the Universe is he about to propose?'

"Bulma Briefs I extend you the offer to be my-"

'He is!'

"-my concubine."

The universe stopped.

"Concubine?"

"I had never thought of it myself really. My father has his women and I never wanted the same," he looked at her greedily, "but I want to keep you."

Bulma stepped away from him shaking her head. "I came here thinking that you would have remembered me."

"What does it matter? Even if I did the outcome would more than likely be the same. I must mate a Saiyan woman so anything else I have will be on the side."

"The side?" The words tasted like bile in her mouth.

"Yes. I'm giving you a grand opportunity here. You will have luxury for the rest of your life. No alien could possibly have a better life than what I'm offering you. No one will ever hurt you or touch you and you'll practically want for nothing. I wouldn't even mind letting you have a half breed or two. They won't be strong enough to be fighters but they could work with you in one of your labs. With your genius mind you no doubt could even be my head scientist. You'll have a career, a title, wealth, protection and even offspring. Women will envy you across the galaxy."

"I'm sorry I can't breathe."

"Take a moment; it's a grand prize to take in. You are very lucky."

Bulma turned away and looked at the docking bay edge and out to the sky as if searching for some type of help. She had done everything she could possibly think of. Re-enacting memories and putting up with abuse but nothing seemed to work. There was only one other thing she had thought of, but she never knew how to get Vegeta into that situation. It was a risk, one she could possibly lose her life over. But it was a risk she was willing to take.

She walked as close to the edge as possible. And then turned to Vegeta. "I can't fly."

"I figured as much with all the machines you use. But don't worry, that is not a flaw that upsets me."

"You'll have to save me."

Vegeta was confused on where she was going with this. "What are you-?"

But he got his answer as Bulma spread her arms and jumped backwards off the docking bay...

Bulma was terrified but she wouldn't scream. What was the point, the one that could save her knew what happened. She only had a few seconds...or he only had a few seconds. And she hoped that her Vegeta would fight his way through to save her...

Vegeta's mind paused for a moment. He started to say why should he save her, then a searing trauma like panic seized his whole body and he ran to the balcony and jumped off after her. He flew as fast as he could and caught her just in time. She was shaking in his arms but gave him a smile that drove him to anger.

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?"

"I lost it trying to find yours."

Vegeta's head started pounding as he stared at this Woman, he too looked at the sky for any form of help for this crazed Woman and that's when he noticed the stars and the light it casted on her body and how her hair flowed behind her as he held her close. Something started clicking.

"Our...our first date?"

"Yes." Bulma said happily.

Vegeta stared at her like he was staring at her for the first time. He shook his head a little bit then it was like a truck of emotions slammed into his brain and he remembered everything. "Bulma..."

"Vegeta!" She cried as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He held her close and inhaled her scent. "I was so scared that you would never remember me."

"There is no way I could possibly ever get an annoying woman such as yourself out of my mind." He pulled back a little and glared at her. "Woman...don't ever do something so foolish again."

"I had to get you back."

"It was not worth the risk."

"I knew you would save me."

"Bulma it was stupid."

Bulma was about to apologize but then she glared back at him. "You were such a jerk to me! And then you asked me to be your concubine!" She said as she started to beat against his chest.

He laughed and grabbed her hands. That was probably the last job in the world she would ever want. "And you would be alive too."

"Well I couldn't let that happen. And speaking of things not happening, there is no way you are going anywhere near Chaya."

Vegeta smirked at her obvious jealousy. "She's a nice girl."

"Saiyans don't do nice."

"Calm yourself Woman. I will do no such thing."

"But what will you do about us?"

"I can't mate you at least at the moment. But I will not let another man touch what is mine. Nor do I want my mother to send any other female my way."

"So what are you going to do?"

Vegeta's cheeks turned a shade of pink and he coughed nervously and then asked, "How do Earthlings do it?"

"Do what?"

"Get married?'

Author's note: And let's stop there. Oooh the things that are going to happen...I can't spoil anything sorry. But side note if you didn't read my Author's note last time I would really love and appreciate any support thrown my sister's way. She is about release her 5th book called 'The Queen' and it's really good. The main character kind of has a Bulma type of personality that I think you guys would really love. So she is actually doing a kickstarter to promote it so if you guys would like to help out go to the kickstarter web site and do a search for 'The Queen' and the project will come up and you can get all the details on my sister, Christina Barr and her project. Any little bit helps even tweeting and posting it on Facebook or anything else you know of will help. I really do believe her work could be just as successful if not more so than Stephenie Meyers books so please support. The link to it is also on my profile page. Thanks! Next chapter: I don't want to give anything away but let's just say the Queen will be royally angry. Please Review!
