Katie MacInarah-Cena sat in a chair, at a table, on a plane, watching as the people who were supposed to be talking, had instead began to argue. There was The Doctor, still in his Twelfth incarnation, but looking a bit older than she remembered, had silvery-grey shaggier hair than normal. Judging by the expression on his face and the look in his old eyes he had recently lost the woman he loved. That River Song person, or as Delta often called her, 'River from the Library'.
With a hint of a smile on her face Katie turned to her next analysis. Missy sat back in her seat looking completely bored out of her Mind, yet held a spark of interest in the arguing. She was well known for expressing narcissistic behaviour and the last time Katie had seen the Time Lady she had attempted to take over the world using Cybermen born from human graves. That was nearly seven years ago but the memory of events were still raw. She still couldn't understand why Missy was even here.
The woman in question looked over at her with a dark scowl, so Katie moved her analysis on. Sat on The Doctor's other side was a short bald man in glasses wearing a dark grey Monks robe. Katie had never seen this man before and she couldn't get a read on his emotions. The Doctor had said his name was Nardole and that was it. Was he a new companion? And why was he such a blank slate?
Quickly moving on, Katie turned her attention to her dad, John Cena. He was trying his best to mediate, but she could see he was becoming frustrated at the current situation. And finally she looked over at Ed Dingle, MI5 Officer. He was currently arguing with The Doctor and she could see he was angry and upset. He was missing Delta something terribly. In fact everyone she knew was missing Delta. She'd been gone for three and a half years now and they'd exhausted every search option.
Now they were all aboard BOAT-ONE, flying across the Atlantic towards America, specifically Washington D.C, while Jenny had the TARDIS. Herself and her dad should have been continuing on with the rest of the WWE European Tour, but then The Doctor and Jenny had turned up unexpectedly at the O2 Arena in London. He wanted to help find Delta, even though he was a couple years late.
"Have you finished your Psycho Analysis?" Asked a sickly sweet Scottish accented voice of Missy from right behind her, making Katie jump. When had she moved seats? "I felt you taking a peep!"
The young wrestler turned to Missy who was grinning while her blue eyes twinkled mischievously. "Why are you even here?" She angrily snapped back at the Time Lady.
"Oh, never mind poor little me," Missy replied. "I'm meant to be dead and my dear old friend over there is meant to be watching over me for a thousand years. But here we are instead, on a rescue mission to save one of his pets!"
Feeling very insulted by the Time Lady, Katie wanted to say a few stern words, except she was cut off by a faint sound of wheezing and groaning and the first wisps of temporal wind. This was coming from the far end of the room.
"Oh, look, and here comes the prodigal Daughter." Missy groaned and rolled her eyes.
The arguing between her dad, Ed and The Doctor stopped as the TARDIS continued to materialise aboard the plane. But Katie knew that shouldn't have been right. They were supposed to have met Jenny in D.C and the colour of the TARDIS was all wrong, a darker blue to what she was used to.
"What's going on here?" She heard a dismayed Doctor question as he stood up with the others.
The TARDIS finally fully materialised, then the door squeaked open.
Much to Katie's surprise, she watched as Ed's colleague, Kate Stamp, stepped out of the TARDIS looking puzzled. But something was wrong. Her emotions were different, foreign even. Whoever this was, it was not Kate Stamp.
"Kate?" Cena questioned. "Did Jenny just bring you?" He quickly moved towards his girlfriend and in the split second before he hugged her, Katie saw the female's eyes widen in fear. Seconds after that. Cena found himself being blasted back, hitting the floor with a pained grunt. Ed went to check on him.
"I'm not yer girl, ye wee bampot!" This stranger growled, stood in a defensive position.
Now that she definitely knew this doppleganger wasn't her dad's girlfriend, Katie stared in disbelief. This person had superpowers just like Delta. And just like Delta she was also angry. She could read it all over her naturally pale face.
Before Katie could get any further into her analysis, the door squeaked open and out stepped another version of The Doctor. It was the Tenth Incarnation, except he wore jeans, suit top and t-shirt. "Jaime?" He queried. "What did you do?" He asked, moving close to her.
And then it got confusing because he was followed out by the same incarnation of the Tenth Doctor. Just like her Doctor, he too had some very expressive eyes. He was followed out by a blonde female who she knew to be Rose. She'd met another Rose once when she'd been travelling with the current Doctor. This Rose was happy too and once Katie read her emotions she found the blonde was pregnant. Though she didn't appear to be the Rose of this universe.
Another blonde, who happened to be Jenny, stepped out after Rose, but she could see this was not the Jenny she knew. This Jenny looked happy but her dark blue eyes told Katie that she had gone through a lot of trauma. It made her wonder what had happened. One last person stepped out of the TARDIS which brought a ton of emotional memories to Katie and she let out a gasp of surprise.
"Mom?" She mumbled without even thinking. "Mom!" She cried out and ran to the woman, hugging her. "Mommy!"
Alexia grunted, stunned, when the young woman plowed into her and put her arms around her in a hug. She looked over at her daughter for help, but she just looked as puzzled as everyone else did. However, what surprised her about the young woman is that she looked the spit of her daughter's original body. Well, apart from the auburn coloured hair and the blue-green eyes. Oh, and judging by the use of 'mom', the young woman was clearly American. Boston by the sounds of it.
"Sarah?" A deep voice, also American, asked, and Alexia looked up at the man who had spoken.
He was currently being helped up off the floor by another man, but Alexia definitely recognised him. It was that wrestler fella John Cena, and judging by his expression he had mistaken her for somebody else. They both did.
She shook her head and pushed the girl away from her. "I'm sorry, I'm not your mother," Alexia told the girl who gasped and stumbled backwards, her green-blue eyes widening. "And my name is Alexia," she told Cena. "Though my middle name is Sarah."
The wrestler looked absolutely gobsmacked. "You're British!" Cena uttered, dumbfounded. "And Sarah's middle name was Alexia."
Well, it appeared this was becoming a revelation. Turns out her parallel self in this universe was American, along with her daughter. "What do you mean, 'was'?" Alexia questioned.
"She died." The American girl croaked sadly. "My name is Katie, by the way."
Brows raising in surprise, Alexia couldn't believe what she was hearing. When her daughter was born her parents had suggested the name 'Katie'. But she had liked the name 'Jaime' better and stuck with it. She was about to comment on this oddness until John Cena spoke up.
"She's from a parallel universe isn't she? He checked with the Twelfth Doctor.
"It's pretty bloody obvious, Cena." The dark brown haired fella snapped. "I remember that lot from last time. Except the woman and the doppleganger."
Jaime let out an offended huff.
"Alright, there's no need to bite my head off, Edward!" Cena snapped back.
"Yes, you'd be both right," Twelve interrupted before another argument could break out. "What are you all doing here in this universe?" He questioned the visiting Time Travellers, his blue eyes lingering on Rose.
The Tenth Doctor noticed, and with a scowl, he gently pulled Rose behind him. "We were given co-ordinates to this exact spot by a mutual friend," he told Twelve, before looking around at their surroundings. "Judging by the location I'd say it was a tight spot to land. Why are we on a plane and where is it going?" He asked.
Surprised, the Twelfth Doctor raised his impressive brows. "If this mutual friend of ours wanted to bring people together from two different universes then it must be important!" He answered. "But first, it would be handy if we knew who everybody was." He then began introductions, pointing. "This you already know is Ed," he said about the MI5 Officer. "And obviously everyone knows John Cena," Twelve nodded towards the wrestler who saluted and smirked. "This girl here is Katie, John's daughter." Katie waved as she stood next to her father. This little revelation quite surprised some of the visiting travellers. Despite her looking similar to Jaime's original body they could now see some similarities with her father.
"This little fella here is Nardole," Twelve pointed at the bald man next to him and Alexia recognised him as the actor from the comedy TV show 'Little Britain', Matt Lucas.
"Little!" Nardole spluttered, indignant. "I ought to kick your arse into your next regeneration!" He threatened.
"Please, by all means, don't." The Twelfth Doctor replied sarcastically.
Alexia chuckled at the threat. Whoever Nardole was to this version of The Doctor he was clearly more than just a companion.
"And this ball of trouble is Missy." Twelve nodded towards the woman leaning against the wall, looking bored. She had wild brown hair, blue eyes and seemed somewhat Victorian nanny.
But when she was given the vague explanation by The Doctor, she pouted and did her best flirting. "Oh, c'mon honey, why so vague? Don't you want them to know?"
Twelve winced at being called 'honey' by the Missy woman. "No, the less they know about you, the better." Twelve replied coldly.
"What? What don't you want us to know?" A confused Tenth Doctor asked. "Who is she?"
From behind him, Rose was glaring at Missy because she was eyeing up her Doctor.
"You really don't want to know." Twelve growled out. "As for for what we're doing on this plane…"
"Jaime? Jaime! What's wrong?" J.D interrupted The Doctor. He could sense her fear over the American wrestler earlier, but that had spiked to a high level once Missy had been introduced. He felt the need to put his arm around her shoulders for comfort.
"It's her," the Scots-girl muttered. "It's her!" She could feel curious wonder wash off Missy as they stared at each other.
"What do you mean?" She heard her mum ask.
Pulling her gaze away from the woman, Jaime looked over at The Doctor with wide eyes. "Back in our Universe," she said to him. "After I…left 23rd Century America and teleported into 1800's Amesbury, tha' woman turned up. She had a hat and an umbrella and she called herself Missy. She reminded me of an evil version of Mary Poppins."
Katie snorted laughter because she found that description accurate.
"She was part of an allience tha' had me locked up in the Pandorica." Both Twelve and Missy looked surprised. "You were locked up in the Pandorica?" He questioned. "Why would they put you in it?" He never got an answer.
"Why would I, or rather my parallel self, want to trap the likes of you, some silly human, inside a fairytale box?" Missy questioned.
"Maybe 'cause you were afraid of me…" Missy laughed at this. "…and it was you who built it…" Missy stopped laughing and Twelve looked shocked. "…And I'm not jus' human. I'm a hybrid," she added in High Gallifreyan. "Jus' like my bond-mate here." She said, smiling up at J.D before looking back at Missy with a scowl, feeling fear from her and Twelve. "Who are you?" She demanded.
"I'm The Master." A shaken Missy replied and that caused an uproar with the guest Time Travellers.
Once the Twelfth Doctor managed to calm the visiting travellers, he explained why he had Missy travelling with him. She had fallen foul of the Fatality Index and condemned to death. Luckily for her she had The Doctor to thank for saving her life. But now he was condemned to watch over her for a thousand years. He just needed to find a secure location to put her.
Rose was fascinated that Time Lords could change sex and asked her Doctor if he could do that too. He just shook his head, then went on to say it could happen under exceptional circumstances. J.D added that suicide was one exception. Then once everyone sat down and were fully introduced, the Twelfth Doctor started talking about why they were in a plane.
"This isn't just any old plane," he answered Ten's earlier question. "This is BOAT-ONE, official transport for the President of the Entire World."
The Tenth Doctor smirked and sat back in his seat with his feet on the table. "And you're Earth's President?" He asked. "How'd you wrangle that?"
Twelve sighed. "Earth had too many invasions and another world wide invasion by Missy was the final straw. So I was appointed as President of Earth."
"And it gave you an even bigger ego!" Missy commented.
Twelve ignored her. "So I'm performing my World Presidential duty by having some very stern words with America's President."
"Who's the President in this universe?" A curious Alexia enquired. She couldn't remember if it had been mentioned before.
"Donald Trump," Ed huffed out. "He's hoping to get re-elected in a couple of months time."
Surprised, there were several things Alexia had noticed. They were quite obviously years ahead in this universe, something Trump done had clearly upset and angered Ed. And the fact that Trump was actually President here was mind-boggling. "Isn't that the bloke from American Apprentice?" She questioned. "How'd that even happen?" Outside interference was blamed. For this universe that either meant terrestrial or extra-terrestrial. "Why do you want to have stern words with Trump anyway?" Alexia further questioned.
"I think I can guess why," J.D picked up. "The last time we spoke with Delta she said that Trump had been rounding up American-Alien immigrants and locking them up somewhere."
The visiting Travellers, apart from a disgusted Alexia and shocked Jenny, all remembered having this conversation with her and her next incarnation, Dyna.
"That's right," Ten spoke up. "She said she'd been looking for these missing people with this Universe's Jenny and her friends." It was only now when the discussion had turned to Delta did he realise she was missing. "Where is she anyway?" He asked rather dumbly. He was further puzzled when he heard J.D groan and saw Jaime shake her head. "What?" He questioned, frowning.
"But it's worse than just locking up aliens," Ed commented. "Because he isn't just caging aliens anymore. It's asylum seekers, Dreamers, human immigrants, naturalised citizens and American citizens of a certain colour. They're all in immigration facilities and no-one is doing a thing to stop him." Ed saw the look of horror on the visiting Time Travellers faces and continued on.
"As for Delta, she told me about that adventure she had with you, rescuing your Jenny. Well, what she could remember anyway. She spent most of it as Wolfy." He then smiled sadly. "And the reason she isn't here is because she too was snatched by Trumps so-called Alien Immigration police. We've tried so hard to find her, along with all the other aliens, but Trump wouldn't listen and had me banned from travelling into the States. So here I am, sneaking in illegally with The Doctor." He ended with a sigh.
Alexia shook her head in disbelief. She was shocked and appalled by the events happening in this universe. By the sounds of it, it appeared history was repeating itself. "That's just not right," she said. "When did this happen? When was she taken?"
"August 2017," Cena answered her with a fond smile at the woman. "It was during a SummerSlam event, backstage in the car park."
Jaime nodded, ignoring the feelings and looks he was giving her mother. "I witnessed this myself…" Feeling waves of confusion wash off everyone she quickly explained. "I was the one she was talkin' too when I was projectin'." Katie gasped in awe, fascination washing off her. "This so-called police looked more like members of the Secret Service." Now it was Cena's turn to gasp.
Something came to Alexia's Mind. "Hold on, what's the year?" She asked. Because if they were already in an election year that meant Delta had been missing far longer than she first thought.
"It's May, 2020." Katie helpfully answered for her.
Alexia tried to ignore the fascinated expression coming from the young girl towards her. It was a bit weird, looking exactly like someone else who was dead. "Nearly four years?" She exclaimed, shocked and wide-eyed. "And you've not heard about her since?"
Ed shook his head. "Three and a half years," he corrected. "And no, not a word."
An uneasy silence followed before The Tenth Doctor spoke up. "Makes sense why Dyna would send us here," he said as Ed perked up at the mentioned name.
"That and it's an apparent Paradox!" J.D added. "The more of us here the quicker we'll find Delta."
Jaime nodded thoughtfully but was beginning to get a bad feeling and shifted uncomfortably in her seat.
"What do you plan to do, Doctor?" Rose asked Twelve.
Missy watched as her longtime friend and enemy grinned happily at being acknowledged by the blonde human, and let out a humoured snort. Considering she once spent eighteen months on Earth waiting for The Doctor to return from the end of the Universe, she'd spent a lot of time researching the infamous Rose Tyler. She was the only human to survive messing around with a TARDIS Heart. She was also the only human companion to capture The Doctor's hearts. And she couldn't have that as she had wanted The Doctor all to herself! Just a pity she survived almost falling into the Void.
"Like I said," Twelve answered Rose. "I'm going to have very strong words with him. He knows I'm coming…"
Jaime jumped up from her seat and began to pace agitatedly by the TARDIS, rubbing her temples with her eyes closed. J.D got up to follow her, talking quietly and rubbing her back in comfort. Even Jenny looked a tad restless.
"…and I will tell him that he can't just lock up people and thinks he can get away with it!"
The Tenth Doctor nodded in agreement. He really hated dictators and slavers. But what he really hated the most was people who thought they were above the law and untouchable. Donald Trump sounded like just that type of person.
"Ye told him?" Jaime spoke up, once she stopped pacing. She was glaring at Twelve. "Ye told tha' wee bugger Ye were comin' for him?"
Twelve looked confused. "Well, yes. How else would I have put him on short notice?"
Jaime snorted and shook her head. "By turnin' up unannounced, maybe!" She replied. "Caught the wee bugger off his guard. 'cept, now he knows you're after him so he's showin' off his muscle."
Confusion once again washed off everyone. "How do you mean?" Alexia asked her.
"Once the plane lands he'll have it surrounded and have everyone arrested." Jaime replied.
A weird nervous sound came from Nardole.
"Don't be ridiculous," Twelve answered back. "He can't do that." His denial only led to a fiery glare from Jaime.
"Considering what we just saw via shared visions I wouldn't put it past him." J.D said.
As if to prove a point, the door to the flight cabin opened and a co-pilot stepped into the room. "Sir…" He began, only to be surprised by the extra people and a blue police box. "What the…" He muttered.
"Yes, what is it?" Twelve snapped at the co-pilot.
"Uh, sorry…" He seemed nervous. "We've entered North American airspace but we won't be landing at Dulles International…" He had everyone's attention. "We're being escorted by a couple of F-16's to Joint Base Andrews."
Again, Nardole made another panicked noise, while the tension in the room turned thick.
"Thank you." The Twelfth Doctor muttered sourly, watching the co-pilot return to the Flight Cabin.
"What do we do now?" Nardole panicked.
"Told ye!" Jaime snarled, electrical energy crackling in the air. "Let me sneak up on him." Without waiting for an answer she suddenly Aeroported away.
"Shit!" J.D muttered. He should have known she would have done something this reckless. Seconds later the Emulator on his wrist beeped and he looked at it. "Ah-ha!" He grinned. "I can follow her."
"Don't you dare use that thing," Ten warned. "You could end up anywhere. Not to mention you could teleport thousands of miles above the ground."
J.D grimaced. His brother was right. He hadn't yet calibrated the Emulator and he'd need proper training to use the stored abilities. "Then how else am I supposed to follow her?" The Half-Time Lord questioned.
"How?" Ten replied, his brow raised in a questioning manner. "Well, with the TARDIS of course!" He jumped to his feet, Rose doing the same. "Allons-y!" He uttered and approached the TARDIS, the rest following suit.
