A flash of light blinded the Baudelaires and Klaus was taken from his sisters.
Klaus looked all around him after coming to and saw a furry creature that looked like a wolf cub.
"Hey, easy, boy or girl." The cub just looked at the teenage boy and went to his hand and licked it.
"That tickles!" Klaus giggled.
The wolf cub whimpered as its mother came to them. It seemed to size Klaus up as not a threat to its cub. Klaus bowed his head to the mother and it bowed its head in return.
"So you're the cub's mother." The mother nodded her head and sat on her haunches, then signaled to her cub that it was okay to go with Klaus.
The cub spoke to Klaus, saying, "Poochyena!"
"That's your name, huh, Poochyena? It seems you're also a male."
"Poochyena!"
The wolf cub growled at the threat that was coming. It was a bug called Wurmple as it called out its name.
"Poochyena, Growl!"
The cub growled at the bug and it shivered. Wurmple used String Shot but missed the Poochyena.
"Now tackle the Wurmple!"
"Poochyena!" The cub tackled the bug and made it faint, leveling up in return.
After many battles with the Wurmple, Klaus decided to take his cub to the hospital and found a Poke Center.
"Hello, my name is Klaus and my Poochyena needs care."
"Hi, Klaus; we'll heal your Poochyena. You can stay in one of our rooms in the meantime. By the way, I'm Nurse Joy."
"Thank you, Nurse Joy."
After a few hours, Poochyena was as good as new. The cub leapt into Klaus' arms and licked his face. Klaus giggled and thanked Nurse Joy for the help.
"We hope to see you again!"
'I'll need to buy supplies, but I have no money.' Klaus searched his pockets and found nothing.
"Let's get going, Poochyena!"
"Pooch!"
After battling the trainers in the forest, he had enough money to buy some antidotes and potions as well.
The Pokémon ate food that Klaus prepared himself when he set up camp.
Poochyena curled up to Klaus as they got ready for bed with the fire put out and a sleeping bag on the ground.
'I wonder what Sunny and Violet are doing?' Klaus thought.
Meanwhile, both Baudelaire girls were trying to get Klaus back but to no avail. Nevertheless, they didn't stop trying in their effort to get their brother back.
'Everything will be better tomorrow.' Klaus figured as Poochyena snuggled up more to Klaus' side, whimpering.
"Don't worry, Poochyena. I'm fine." He pets the wolf cub's head and scratched its ears, making it pant in excitement.
The next day, Sunny and Violet made their effort to get Klaus back through a portal and yelled for him.
Klaus heard them and began to run toward the portal, but Poochyena blocked his way.
"I know, boy, but my family needs me. It was nice knowing you, but you need to go home too." He embraced the wolf for the last time and went through the portal.
All the Baudelaires were together again at last and Klaus told them about his adventure.
