Wes and Rui walked through the streets of Pyrite Town in complete silence. Out of all the things that Wes expected to happen running into Reina was impossible in his mind because of his belief that she was dead. Yet he had found her only to learn that she was allied with Cipher. Just thinking about it made his blood boil. However he couldn't become angry at Reina for joining them not after everything she had told him.
Rui noticed the look of sadness on her dear friends face and she put a hand on his shoulder.
"Wes, I know how hard this must be for you." She said with the her voice filled with the greatest and most genuine of sympathy.
Wes froze in his track and had his head hung low. He simply stared at the ground with his eyes closed as Rui moved in front of him to face him.
"Please Wes, talk to me." She said gently.
Wes let out a heavy sigh.
"I don't know what to do." He said softly. "I want to get Reina out of Cipher but I don't want to take her away from the one person that she considers her only family."
"But Wes, she has you now to call family." Rui said trying to give him hope. "You're like a little brother to her. We could take her to my village. Theirs always room for more people and the villagers are always welcoming. She could find a home there and live happily with you me and my grandparents."
"It's not that simple Rui." Wes said as he looked up and into her beautiful blue eyes. "Think about it. Reina was only 8 years old when she lost her real mother, and when Venus took her in, she became her new mother. She cared for Reina and raised her like she was her own daughter. How could I take her away from someone she that considers a mother?"
Rui looked simply stared at Wes and looked away from him sadly. He was right how could take her away from somebody she considers a mother.
"Well then what are we going to do?" She asked him.
Wes shook his head.
"I don't know." He said sadly. "Honestly I can kind of relate to Reina a bit."
Rui looked at him curiously.
"What do you mean?"
"As much as I hate Gonzap and want to see him go down. There's a part of me that doesn't want to because he was sort of like a father to me. I was only 7 years old when my mom and dad were killed and it was Gonzap that immediately found me and took me in. He practically raised me for the last ten years. Before I met you, he and Team Snagem were the closest thing I had to a family."
After a moment he shook his head again and looked at Rui with determination in his eyes. "We need to put the situation with Reina aside for now. We can't forget why we're down here. We have to take Cipher down and snag the Legendary Pokemon that Venus has."
"But Wes, will you really fight Venus after everything she's done for Reina?"
"What kid of question is that!? Of course I will! She may be like a mother to her, but we're her enemies and she no doubt wants us dead just like the rest of Cipher. As much as it's going to hurt me to do this to Reina, we still have to defeat Cipher and stop them from doing any more harm to Pokemon."
Rui wanted to object further she knew Wes couldn't possibly be okay with doing something like this but at the same she had to understand that he really didn't have any choice. The fate of the world was far more important than his own desires. Hesitantly she nodded her head in agreement.
"Let's get back to Silva and see he knows anything about Venus' whereabouts." Wes suggested.
Rui nodded and the two ran back the entrance of The Under.
Back at the entrance, the group saw Silva still sitting in the cage. The man looked up to see the two of them in front of him and he smiled.
"Hey there you guys are." He said happily. "I wanted to thank you both earlier for saving me from those goons but when you ran off with that girl I never got the chance to."
Rui bowed apologetically
"Sorry Silva." She said.
"Speaking of that girl..." Silva began before turning to Wes. "Who is she, Wes? One minute you two are ready to fight the next you're both crying and hugging each other. So what's the deal she you're long lost love or something?"
"She's none of your concern." Wes said with irritation as Rui frowned at Silva.
Silva realizing Wes was not in the mood for jokes and knowing how strong he is, quickly changed the subject.
"Anyway, why are you guys down here? I thought Duking said not come here because of that Venus woman."
"Did you really think we would listen?" Wes asked. "Rui and I are the only ones who are capable of taking down Cipher. Not to mention it's gotten far more personal between us and them. I regretted acting the way I did to Duking, but we can't let anyone stop us from defeating Cipher or else Pokemon life as we know is done for."
Silva didn't know how to respond to that statement but before he could think of anything Wes asked a question of his own.
"Why are you down here?"
"I came down here on Duking's orders to do some investigating and to see if could get any info on Cipher's activities down here. However the second I walked out of the elevator I was attacked by those goons because apparently some fool had ripped the surface elevator door off it's hinges and thrown it into the street and they thought it was me."
Rui frowned at Wes who rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly which Silva did not seem to notice at all.
"They roughed me up pretty good." he continued before reaching into he pocket and pulled out what looked like a small disc with the letter "R" on it. "However while they were dragging me into this cage, this dropped out of one their pockets."
Silva handed Wes the disc and he and Rui stared at it.
"What does it do?" Rui asked.
"No idea but it's gotta be important. no how about you guy's open the cage door and let me out and I'll go back up to Pyrite Town." He suggested.
Wes and Rui both shook their heads.
"I told you earlier we're not letting you out Silva. I'm not gonna let you go run your mouth to Duking about us being down." Wes said before putting the disc in his pocket. "And we're keeping this disc so we can find out what it does."
He and Rui began to walk away.
"Wes! Stop trying to be a hero!" Silva snapped making them freeze and turn to see him looking angrily at them. "Do you have any idea who you're up against!? Venus is bad news! She's a lot stronger than Miror B. was! You don't stand a chance against her!"
"You think Miror B. is the only high ranking member I fought!?" Wes snapped back at him. "I battled and defeated someone in Cipher who I can guarantee you is no doubt on par with Venus. So if you think I can't defeat her you've got another thing coming."
Wes and Rui continued to walk away but Silva shouted one more thing at them that made them freeze once again.
"Wes wait! While you were down here Madame Fateen came by looking for you. She said she had a terrible vision and that you need to not come down whatsoever. She couldn't see the vision clearly but she said if you continue being down here something terrible will happen."
Madame Fateen's vision was just like Wes' bad feeling.
"If you won't listen to me then listen to her!" Silva begged.
Wes contemplated this for a moment but then continued to walk away.
"I have to stop them." He said. "I can't walk away from this."
Wes and Rui soon disappeared ignoring Silva's constant pleas to stop.
