It's been awhile, everyone. Life got the best of me and I had to take some time away from things but hopefully this time is actually when I'm back for good.
We'll see.

Somewhere in the mostly abandoned Day Class dormitories, a certain imposter was drinking from a young girl's neck. Another girl was draped over the side of the bed. She was already drained of blood. From the way the two girls were dressed most likely they were from town, which was good in a sense. Retracting his mouth from the girl's neck, the imposter looked to the window as the side frames suddenly slammed inwards.
"Well now, that's annoying," he quickly spoke. Just as the imposter was about to dig back into his meal, a hand came to rest on his shoulder; telling him to stop whatever he was doing.
"I think you have had just about enough, don't you think, Rido," spoke a calm voice.
Turning his head slightly, the imposter was able to see who laid a hand on him. A smirk came across his lips as he stood there, looking upon the blonde aristocrat in Senri Shiki's body. "My, my. You're no fun at all. Doesn't matter anyway since I was done with this girl."
Without regret or sympathy for the girl, the imposter simply handed the girl over to the young aristocrat. His two different colored eyes looked to the door behind him. Standing there was a young man with silver hair and light purple eyes. He was dressed in a light gray trench coat, what looked to be dark colored work pants, and a light dress shirt. Simple, just simple.
"Hmm," the imposter cocked his head as he began to wonder, "I am going to take a guess that you are the young man who brought my real body over here, no?"
"I am," the teenager simply stated.
"The other half of the Kiryu family, little Ichiru." The imposter could not stop laughing as he looked over the silver-haired teenager before him. "It must be almost instinct for you to go against your brother. It's rather… Entertaining to watch."
"I'm not really here to entertain you, Rido-sama."
"Whatever… You're here to get revenge against my naughty little nephew for what he did to that Hio woman. Fine, you can do that. I just need his princess claimed by me." Rido turned back to the window as a gust of wind came through the window. His nose twitched at the smell of a new scent. Another presence had just entered into the academy. Its scent smelled so familiar and yet, not quite so.
"What was…?"
"Rido-sama," Takuma questioned softly.
The scent was faint. The scent of a morning rainfall, an air-like smell. Something the dark-haired pureblood hadn't smelled in a long time. However, there was a slight difference. This one also had a faint blood smell added to it, maybe even an earthy smell as well. This confused the dark-haired pureblood.
"Rido-sama, is everything okay," the blonde aristocrat asked once again.
"Tch…" The scent disappeared with another breeze. "Forget it." Rido turned back to the lower classed vampire and human once the scent was gone, "You smelled that as well, correct, Ichijo?"
"Smelled what," the blonde spoke up, his eyebrows furrowed downward, trying to figure out what the older vampire meant.
"Just never mind," Rido growled out as he looked over his shoulder. His gaze was to the opened window; another annoyance growl escaped through as he stood there. The scent was familiar and yet, the pureblood was unable to put a name or face to the scent. It annoyed him.
Slowly opening her eyes, the brunette of the Suzuki family found herself staring up at a wooden ceiling. Her entire right shoulder felt numb. No, not even numb now that the brunette thought it over. It felt like her entire right shoulder was not there, but it had to be. Her right hand was still able to move.
Slowly trying to get herself to sit up, Katsu was capable of looking over to her right arm. There was a huge white bandage wrapped tightly around her shoulder and up to her neck. There was a slight blood stain added to the bandage; obviously the brunette was still bleeding rapidly.
"Damn it," Katsu cursed underneath her breath. None of what happened between Kin, her and Toga was supposed to happen. It was to stay only between her and the black-haired crazed man.
Black-colored gaze suddenly widened; the sudden reminder that the black-haired hunter had been there only just came up. Just a simple jolt to try and get herself out of the bed placed the brunette into a world of pain. She literally could not feel any muscle in her right shoulder. What had happened?
The door to the room opened; light from the hallway came pouring into the dark room of which the Suzuki vampire was sitting in. Standing at the door was none other than a still wounded Toga; his one good eye looked to her, only to then shake his head at the very sight of her sitting up. In his hands were fresh bandages and towels along with some antibiotics that would help with the pain.
"Lay back down," he told her roughly, "You shouldn't be sitting up at a time like this, Katsu. You will need to relax for a while to let that shoulder heal."
"I'm fine," the brunette spoke just as the left hand was placed on her shoulder. A small rubbing motion was applied to the hurting section.
"Yeah, that's why you're rubbing it. It still hurts, doesn't it?" Toga moved himself to the side of the bed, placing all of the items in his hands onto the table.
Katsu turned to the black-haired hunter; her gaze looked him over. There was a white bandage around his head, with no hints of blood on it. Most likely he would be allowed to take it off once he left her side. Her black-colored gaze dulled a little; obviously a sadness was now added to their depths. She herself was feeling guilty for the very fact the hunter had gotten hurt and had gotten involved in the little matter with Kin.
"I'm sorry," Katsu spoke these words quietly. She was not answering the other's question; she simply spoke those words of apology before looking away from the hunter.
Looking to the pureblood, Toga could see there was a sadness in her expression, even though she had looked downwards to the white sheets. Having just placed the items down on the night-table, the hunter moved to sit down on the bed. His back to the opposite wall; basically, the two were facing each other. His right arm moved so that he was practically leaning over the young woman's body. Toga looked to the woman as he kept his balance on his right hand, which rested next to Katsu's left hip.
"Why are you apologizing," he questioned.
"I got you hurt," Katsu answered with a whisper, "I should have taken care of that man many months ago, but I just couldn't. I lost control out there, only getting myself injured at the same moment.
"Katsu." Toga reached out with his left hand to gently touch the woman's right cheek, keeping sure not to touch her shoulder. Leaning forward, the hunter placed his forehead on hers. "None of what happened was your fault. That man, whoever he was, had done this to us. It was his fault. Now please don't go blaming yourself."
The hunter gently moved his head upwards; now he was able to see eye to eye with the young pureblood. Her eyes looked up as he did this action. Toga grew a gentle expression; a rare one that he would only show around Katsu, which was just fine with her.
"Toga, I placed you in harm's way."
"Hey, hunters have to help their comrades whenever they're in trouble. It's what they have to do in order to survive."
"Toga…," Katsu quickly trailed off, not wanting to speak anymore. Her eyes looked downwards once again.
"What is it, Katsu?"
"I need to admit something." A pause followed after those words were whispered by the brunette; obviously she was a little hesitant to say what she wanted. "I reacted a little quicker than I thought I would have once I had seen you injured."
Toga's lips moved to speak, but nothing came out. He was unsure of what he was supposed to say. After all, he hadn't thought that was the reason behind her sudden attack on the black-haired shapeshifter. "So that's why…"
"That's how he was capable of getting his claw into my shoulder. I reacted too quickly. I can't believe this."
"If you hadn't reacted quicker, he probably would have dug both of his front paws into you. Your reaction helped keep you alive…"
Katsu suddenly pulled away; a curse under her breath as she brought her left hand back to her right shoulder. "Tch… That hurts."
Toga pulled back to see the injured shoulder. By now there was blood pooling out from the injured; it was a slow process, but there was still an obvious flow. Getting himself up, the black-haired man grabbed the towels and the bandages. After handing the brunette a towel, the hunter went to the dirty bandages on her shoulder. Toga took each one off carefully. Just as he was getting the last one off, Katsu placed the towel on her shoulder.
After the towel was there for a while, the black-haired hunter removed the towel and gently placed some of the medicine onto the skin. This action made the brunette flinch away since it did sting, however, she moved back towards the hunter, knowing full while that she needed to deal with the small sting if she was to heal. Once the medicine had settled in and the bleeding had stopped slightly, Toga took the new bandages and began wrapping them tightly around her shoulder.
"This isn't too tight, is it," he whispered.
"No," Katsu answered, "It's perfectly fine."
The two of them stayed in silence as the hunter continued to wrap the new bandages on the other. Once he was done, Toga sat himself back down in the position he was in before the two of them had been interrupted by the wound.
"Toga, what's going on...?"
Before Katsu could finish her question, the door suddenly burst open. A figure in a black trench coat walked into the room. A long-sheathed sword in one hand stood the Headmaster of the Academy. No glasses, no long scarf; he looked completely professional.
"What do you think you're doing here talking to her by yourself, Yagari," Kaien questioned, "I was supposed to be here as well. I have questions for her." There was a hint of a whine at the very last words he spoke.
Katsu rolled her black-colored eyes as she leaned back onto the pillows softly. She pretended to act as tho what had happened between her and the black-haired hunter had never even happened. This placed a stern look on the said hunter.
"I wanted to speak to Katsu before you got here," Toga replied, "Plus, she needed new bandages on her shoulder."
"Still though…"
"I haven't said all that much, Kaien," the brunette spoke up as she placed her right hand softly on the hunter's back, completely out of sight from the other hunter in the room, "Not that much." Her hand was to be for reassurance; she would eventually continue their previous conversation once the tan-haired hunter left the room.
"Yeah, not that much," Toga agreed slowly, "Probably because she finally understood she needed to rest for a while."
Katsu soon placed an expression of which said really? all over her beautiful facial features.
"But we need more information now before… Before they get here," Kaien spoke up, obviously now nervous.
"Who," Katsu and Toga asked at the same time.
"Some of the Hunter's Association. They'll probably try to get in here and control the chaos. Maybe try and take Zero." The Headmaster took his free hand and rubbed the back of his neck; continuing with the nervous act.
Katsu's eyes blinked once and then twice. "I should have expected that, but I thought they would have come sooner."
Toga leaned forward; both of his hands came up to his face, caressing it as he tried to take in the information. "So, we will need to think over a plan to figure this out."
The brunette's gaze looked to the one window in the room. The snow was still falling and clearly it was light out now. The fake Senri would not be moving, not yet. Most likely though his servants had arrived and were trying to find a good meal before nightfall came. "They won't be long. If one of you could open the window and then cover your ears that would be great."
"What are you going to do, Katsu," Kaien asked.
"Call a friend. I will need his help getting myself healed a bit faster."
"How are you…?"
Toga was cut off when the tan-haired hunter walked to the window and immediately began to open it. "Let me guess," answered the said hunter, "You're going to howl for them."
The brunette laughed a little. "Well, someone learns fast for not knowing everything about us vampire shapeshifters."
Kaien shrugged out his reply, "A little educated guess."
"Doesn't matter. I still need the two of you to cover your ears."
Once the two hunters had covered their ears, the brunette kept her head in the direction of the window. A growl to follow along with a snarl escaped through the brunette's closed lips. Soon her head shook from right to left as a long, deep howl followed thereafter; this call probably lasted a minute, maybe less.
Having once finished, the two hunters took their hands off of their head and looked to the brunette. Immediately after, a dark gray wolf was suddenly standing on the window sill. Its front paws were in between its back; its golden gaze looked to the brunette. Its head bowed down once before the wolf finally jumped down from the sill and onto the floor of the room.
Katsu, you called for me, the wolf asked as it came to sit itself down next to the bed; its gray head came to lie down on the white sheets.
Reaching out with her left hand, Katsu was able to reach out to touch the wolf's gray muzzle. "I did, Tora," she spoke softly, "I appreciate you getting here so quickly."
I was nearby. It was no big deal. What did you need of me?
"I need you to stay here for a while." Moving herself just enough, the brunette was capable of showing the gray wolf her injury from the fight she had with Kin.
Tora's ears perked up once he had seen the injury. A worried look grew within the dark golden depths of his eyes. What happened, Katsu? Who did that to you?
"Who do you think?"
Him?
"Unfortunately, but he's now dead, so he won't bother me anymore."
Good. He didn't deserve you in the first place. He was a traitor.
"Tora…" A warning looked was given towards the wolf's direction from the brunette; obviously telling him to keep it quiet for a little while longer.
I apologize. Getting his front paws up onto the bed, Tora was asking permission to get onto the bed fully in order to heal the brunette's shoulder.
Katsu looked to the black-haired hunter; her left hand lightly rubbed his back as she contemplated on what to say. She needed him to move from her side for a little while. It was to help with getting her healed faster. "Toga, I…"
"I already know," Toga spoke up, "You'll need me to move." The black-haired hunter stood up from the bed, which gave a chance for the gray wolf to jump up onto the bed carefully.
Tora's head came around to the right shoulder of the brunette; his muzzle ran over the injury once over so carefully. Then placing his head fully over her shoulder, the wolf began to whine. There was some pain the brunette was feeling with this little action taken by the wolf, but there was no choice in the matter. Tora had to place his head over the injury in order to get his healing ability to work.
Out of all the wolf pack, Tora was the only one who was capable of healing himself and others without a problem to his energy. This was the reason for this vampire shapeshifter to have been able to live for so long.
"Damn it," Katsu cursed under her breath as she felt new skin slowly crawl over the torn and bloody injury. It was a process that even some of the most powerful purebloods or aristocrats would have trouble not feeling any pain from. New skin crawling over old; a horrible way to fix an injury, but it was the only way to be healed faster.
Toga clenched and unclenched his right hand, which had been in a fist since the beginning of the process. He could tell by the way the brunette was grasping the white sheets and growled slightly under her breath that she was in pain. What exactly was happening before him was going to have to be left up to the brunette to tell him.
"Tora, that's enough," Katsu breathed out, "I don't think you'll be able to heal the muscle that was torn underneath." The brunette took her left hand and placed it underneath the wolf's muzzle. Her fingers slightly rubbed at the rough hair there, telling him a bit more to stop the process.
The gray wolf lifted his head from the woman's shoulder only to then place it upon her lap. Tora quickly laid the rest of his body down beside Katsu's left side. This little warm action gave a soft expression on the Suzuki vampire's features.
"Thank you, Tora, rest now. I have a little explaining to do for these two gentlemen before us."
Don't take too long. I have a feeling we will need to fight soon.
"Are his servants almost here?"
I do believe so.
"I won't take too long then. Rest for now." Her left hand came to the top of the wolf's head, gently stroking his gray fur to get him to relax. With that little action, Tora's golden eyes slowly closed; he would rest, just like how the Suzuki pureblood had told him to do.
"Katsu," the tan-haired hunter spoke up, "Exactly how could you and Amaya be sisters if you were born to two different Suzuki families?"
"Born? No… It was more like we were resurrected from two different sides of the Suzuki family," Katsu spoke as she continued to stroke the gray wolf laying on her lap, "There was my side of the family and Amaya's. They each tried to resurrect us in their own way that seemed to fit our own wishes."
"Are you saying the two of you were brought back to life in two different ways," Toga questioned.
The brunette gave a nod before she began to continue on explaining. "I don't know the exact methods of which they tried to resurrect us both, but mind you, they had to try and resurrect us after thousands of years of being dead. Because of the two different methods they used, we both came back completely different."
"Explain."
"For Amaya, she was still a pureblood, but she had lost all of her past memories. So, the only way to get her to remember was if she drank the blood of the Kuran family, preferably the blood of her lover. For me, I was able to be resurrected with my memories, but I lost some of my pureblood powers at the same moment."
"Interesting," Kaien spoke as he placed a hand to his chin, thinking over the information of which the Suzuki pureblood had told him.
"It's odd, not interesting," Katsu corrected, "I should have been the one without my memories instead of the other way around."
Tora, who had suddenly opened his eyes, whined a little; his muzzle nuzzled into the brunette's leg, trying to comfort her a little bit. Concern for the guilt she was feeling most likely; the gray wolf wanted that guilt gone immediately.
"While I was little, I was still in charge of our pack and what they were allowed to do," Katsu continued, "I was to keep that a secret from Amaya all the while. She hadn't need to know what we truly were until she was older."
"I'm curious about something," the Headmaster spoke up as he took a step towards the bed, "Other than vampire shapeshifters, what exactly would you say you all were supposed to be?"
"I guess you could say that we are beings who feed off of our own, meaning just normal vampires. We were made in order to keep the vampires, mostly the purebloods, in check," the brunette spoke confidently, "I will have to say though, the coyotes don't believe such a thing. They believe there should be chaos and the human race should understand their lower rank."
Toga looked from the Suzuki pureblood to the gray wolf on her lap. His right hand came up to his chin and rubbed the rough skin there; at the same moment, he had turned slightly away from the bed, wanting to think.
The information the pureblood was speaking was a lot to take in at once. For the longest of times, hunters had believed that there was only one enemy in the world they had to deal with: vampires. Now that there was information about a species higher than the average aristocrat, it was surprising and unbelievable. Many books, journals and reports from the past had spoken of such a creature having existed long, long ago. The information Katsu spoke very well be true, but there was something still missing from everything she had already told them.
"If you and Amaya lived long ago, then what created you two," Toga asked suddenly after minutes of silence.
"To tell the truth, neither I nor Amaya know of who created us. Heck, none of our followers know either. We always believed that we were just mutations of the vampire race. Basically, we thought we were taken one step further than any normal vampire."
