When a person typically wakes up, it is on the soft surface of a bed, greeted by the sunlight, the feeling of your loving spouse lying next to you. However, for this person. They woke up in a place that is very uncomfortable, it is tight, it is painful, it is damp, it is dark. That's what he would describe the place that he is in right now. He feels around for his wand, fortunately, he finds it on him, under his breath, he mutters a spell. What was blocking his view had fallen down on top of him, with that, so to did dirt. Then out of pure desperation, he held his breath and clawed, the only way to go is up, so upward he went, rising from the surface beneath the ground, greeting the morning sunrise is the hazel-eyed man who had returned from the dead. James Potter. He looks around in a daze as he realizes that he is in a cemetery. He frowns, 'How did I get here? Last thing I remember was...' He closes his eyes, he is trying to remember, Did Voldemort kill him or just knock him out? He looks over and sees Lily's tombstone. He feels tears build up in his eyes and he looks for Harry's. If they are both gone, then he'll go and find that rat and murder him. However, as he sees that Harry's tombstone is not there. He begins to think, 'Maybe Padfoot got there in time in save Harry. If that is the case, then brother, I owe you big time.' He looks at his wand and disillusioned himself and cast notice me not charms as well. First rule is to go and check the house and confirm his beliefs after that.

The sun rises further as James Potter walks through the street. It is very much quiet. Once he arrives at the house, he sees that it is mostly destroyed and there is a statue, along with a plaque, confirming that indeed, his son Harry Potter is alive. He begins to think, 'Okay, what would Padfoot do next? He came up with the plan to try to trick Voldemort. It only backfired due to the fact that the rat was a spy. The truth is that he is brilliant like that. So, his first step would be to go to Remus and let him know the truth, then go into hiding with Harry. This is going to be such a headache, so track down Remus and find out where Padfoot is located at.' He also begins to notice that it is a bit warm for November and he begins to frown as he thinks more, 'It must be late Spring or possibly even early Summer.' With that James Potter apparates to London. He has to go to the Ministry of Magic to confirm that he is alive, then go and see the Goblins as well. If it is Spring or Summer, then he won't be able to find Remus as easily either if people are looking for Harry and Sirius. He approaches the phone booth that leads to the visitor entrance. He dials 62442 and gives the appropriate information and begins to go to level 1 to see the Minister directly, whoever that might be.

The Secretary sees him walk in, "Hello, do you have an appointment?"

James puts on a polite smile, "No, this is an urgent matter however and I need to see the Minister."

The Secretary frowns, "I am sorry, but Minister Fudge is a busy man and Wizards cannot expect to come in here without an appointment. If you'd like to make one. I can take down your name and then owl you with a date and time to come and see him."

James looks at her, he knows that he'll be let in once he says his name and title, "James Potter, head of the noble and ancient house of Potter. Now are you going to continue to be a hinderance or may I go in and see Minister Fudge?"

The Secretary looks at him with a frown and a glare, "I should call the aurors."

James chuckles at that, "By all means, call them. Let them know that I am in the Minister's office." He says and walks on inside.

Minister Fudge looks up from his desk, "Helga, I told you that I..." He sees that it isn't his secretary, "And who in the bloody hell are you?"

James smiles, he is happy to go through this again, "I am James Potter, head of the noble and ancient house of Potter. Now Minister, can you please do me the favor of informing me how long it has been since I was presumedly killed and buried?"

Minister Fudge stutters, "It is a crime to impersonate another wizard, especially a wizard who has been dead for nearly four years now."

James looks down, "Four years. So Harry would almost be five now. Merlin, I hope Padfoot hasn't corrupted him too much. With any luck, Moony would have been a force of reason that provided him balance when he needed it."

The Minister looks at him, "What in blazes are you talking about? It doesn't matter, the auror will be on their way soon."

James chuckles, "Well good, with that, I will take vertalisum or make the unbreakable vow that I am who I say I am and then we can go on about our day and I can find Sirius and my son."

The Minister stutters, "Black? You really must be an idiot and out of it, why in the world would Harry Potter be with a traitor like Sirius Black. He'd kill him the second that he laid eyes on him."

James frowns, "What do you mean a traitor?"

The Minister laughs, "So not only do you fail at successfully imitating this for whatever this is, but you also don't even have your facts straight. Everyone knows that Sirius Black was the Potter's secret keeper and that he sold them out to You Know Who." He grabs his desk to keep himself upright, as far as he can see, while this man may be a criminal, he is such an idiot that there is no way in the world that he could be a threat to him.

James frowns, his humor all gone, his warm and friendly hazel eyes turned dark, once again, people have chosen to just look at his brother's family name, rather than who he is, "You listen to me you son of a bitch. You don't have a single clue on what you are talking about. Let me enlighten you with a few facts. Starting with this, Sirius could not have betrayed me, Lily, and Harry because he was not the secret keeper, he was also Harry's oath bound Godfather. That's right, he swore a magical oath. He would have died if he so much as thought of harming Harry. Now, I will ask one more time, where is Sirius and my son." He feels his magic channeling out in his anger, and he closes his eyes and takes a breath to calm down, 'come on, reign it in. reign it in.'

The Minister looks at him and fears danger once again as the room has gone both cold and electric as magic swirls from the man that he is facing, "Black is in Azkaban where criminals belong, and Harry is with his only surviving relatives."

James stops and he feels fear flooding him, 'Only surviving relatives. That can't be, the only biological relatives that he has is Lily's sister. No. NO! NO!' He loses control of his magic as he imagines the horrors that his son must have faced already. He had heard enough from Lily to know how her sister was and he is sure that her husband is just as bad if not worse than her.

All of a sudden, a bottle of brandy within a cabinet explodes and the aurors rush in as well, among them is Alastor Mad Eye Moody.

Alastor looks at him, "I don't know who you are, but you must have some pretty big balls and no brains at all to impersonate a good man like James Potter."

James looks at him and he feels a sense of relief, "Moody, thank Merlin, you can help me with this...I.."

Alastor Moody looks at him, his eye spinning, "You have one good reason to tell me why I shouldn't throw you in a holding cell right now. Ten words or less."

James looks at him, "I'll make an unbreakable vow that I am James Potter."

Alastor Moody looks at him, "Now you caught my attention."

James pulls out his wand, "I, James Potter, do hereby swear upon my magic and my life that I am who I say I am and that I am not impersonating anyone in any way either by Polyjuice, metamorphic ability, or muggle disguise. so, mote it be." The magic takes hold and James is quick to cast, "Lumos." His wand lights up, "Nox." He looks at Alastor, "Believe me now Mad Eye?"

Alastor Moody laughs and claps James on the back "Good to see you boy. Now, we have a lot to discuss, first..."

James looks at him, "First, we work on getting Sirius free and we get me immediate custody of my son. Everything after that can wait. Then I'll need a hot shower, among other things."

Minister Fudge puts on a polite smile, "Lord Potter, you've had quite an ordeal. while I realize that not everything is as it technically should be seeing as how you are alive and all when you've been buried for nearly four years. Surely, we must take into consideration that you may not have all the facts. Black can't possibly be innocent. Otherwise, it would have come out at his trial."

James glances at him, "As I said, Sirius is my son's oath sworn Godfather."

Minister Fudge shakes his head and begins to sweat. This could be a political nightmare for him if he doesn't find some way for this to be swept under the rug and let go. 'Hmm, yeah, I know, that might just do it.' he snaps his fingers as if realizing something, "Then he must have tricked the oath somehow. He may have used dark magic taught by You Know Who or even his own family magic to trick the oath. We can't just declare a man that has been wrongfully imprisoned in Azkaban free, just imagine what that would do for the Ministry's image." He smiles smugly thinking that there is no way that this person who apparently despite actually being and proving to the most paranoid man in all of the British Wizarding World that he is James Potter, can get around or argue against this.

James rolls his eyes at that, "From what I hear, it was the previous Minister who had imprisoned him, you could state that new evidence came to light and see justice done as quick as you realized that something is wrong."

Minister Fudge changes his tone again, "You are right, of course, the people of the Wizarding World and the Daily Prophet would eat that up." He begins to smile as he thinks of how all of this can play to his advantage, 'Both House Potter and House Black owing me a favor if Sirius Black ends up being innocent. I can use this as leverage after he is freed

James shakes his head and walks out muttering, "Politicians."

Alastor Moody walks with James, "I always knew Sirius was innocent. I had trained you both after all, I knew he would never betray you. Hell, the trail that he left was way too easy to follow. However, for some unknown reason to me, no one wanted to listen to the person who knew what Sirius would and wouldn't do as his mentor."

James smiles, "And you are suspicious of everyone, so it should say person when a man who regards almost everyone and everything as suspicious insist that a man that everyone apparently knows to be guilty is innocent." He runs a hand through his hair and looks at him, "I have to tell you Mad-Eye, I feel a massive headache coming on."

Alastor Moody looks at him, "And it is just the start of the day." He comments, it means two things, one, the day will probably get worse, and two, James can't put it off even if he wants to. Fortunately, though, he doesn't want to put it off at all.
