James arrives at Diagon Alley and walks through the Leaky Culdron and he goes over and taps the bricks to the entrance fo the alley and walks inside. He hopes to get this business done with rather quickly. He walks on down the street. He has to wonder why their will was never read, if it was, then they'd know that Sirius was innocent. It is one of the few questions that he has for the Goblins before he goes to get his son. He walks into the bank and walks over to the teller, "Hello, I am here to see Bloodsung. Account Manager to the Potter Accounts."
The teller looks up at him, "The only one with permission to access the Potter account is heir Potter Harry James Potter when he comes of age and his magical guardian Albus Dumbledore. Now leave, before I bloody my axe with your blood." He mutters, "Idiotic Wizard thief."
James looks at him, he is starting to get tired of this, "My name is James Potter. I wish to see my account manager, so can you please let him know that I am here to see him."
Bloodsung walks up, "No need Lord Potter, I am already here."
James Potter smiles at him, "No security questions or anything like that?"
Bloodsung laughs and then grins in that almost sinister way that all goblins do, "My friend, you know that we goblins have automatic updates, we know when our clients die before the wizarding world does. We are also rather surprised when we find that they have on occasion come back as well. Now come, we have a few things to discuss." He begins to lead Lord Potter back to his office where they can discuss business privately. He himself has always been curious about a few things. Not to mention, James Potter is a friend to the Goblin Nation.
James follows Bloodsung and soon enough, they are sitting down in a comfortable office, and he looks at him, "So how is the state of the Potter account." This is his first concern on whether someone had access to the accounts and had taken all of the money. The Ministry perhaps, he would not put such a thing past them.
Bloodsung smiles, "Investment continue to bring in gold. However, while that is a concern, we both know that is not your real question."
James sighs, "You're right. Why wasn't our will read Bloodsung. The truth would have come out then and Harry would have been raised by Sirius as he should have been."
Bloodsung shakes his head, "Dumbledore sealed the will right after your death. He used his emergency powers granted to him by the Ministry in the state of the war."
James looks at him and mutters at first, "That blood goat fucker. He had no right." He then speaks clearly, "I want that will unsealed and read by this afternoon. Get in contact with everyone who is in the will or someone who represents them."
Bloodsung considers something, "Could that bastard have known that Pettigrew was the one who revealed your location?" He asks, referring to Dumbledore, as Goblin hates liars and considers that sealing the will that hides the truth, either intentionally or otherwise, to be a liar. Along with believing that most of the Wizards in the world today are liars.
James shakes his head, "Our will was made after we decided who would be our secret keeper, but before we went into hiding using the Fidelius Charm. A side effect of the Fidelius Charm is that the one who casts the charm doesn't even remember who the Secret Keeper is as a way of protecting the identity of the secret keeper. So Dumbledore would have also believed that Sirius was our secret keeper unless he was told our location by Peter. When a secret keeper dies, the secret dies with them and basically everyone who knows becomes the secret keeper. The strength of the Fidelius Charm is that the secret can only be given up volunteerily, so even if tortured or cursed, Pettigrew wouldn't be able to give up the secret under distress as that is the fail-safe. However, Sirius, the noble git that he is, loyal to his friends, didn't want to put the rat in harms way. We choose Peter because we suspected Lupin, we thought the stress and the discrimination against werewolves after Hogwarts had gotten to him. I'll never be able to apologize enough for that. How could I have believed the worst in one of my best friends? He never choose his curse and yet somehow, I judged him for it anyway."
Bloodsung looks at him, "Which is why you didn't use Dumbledore either. Since he had such a huge target on his back and despite being magically powerful, Dumbledore could be killed with how involved he is in the war effort. And then, there is potential for a massive leak depending upon how many knew." He ignores his words about Remus as that is more of a personal matter and not one that is conductive to business, just words that James needs to say to himself in order to acknowledge them now.
James looks at him, "Yes, so onto my real question, what is the state of Potter manor and its wards."
Bloodsung looks at him, "Unchanged, Potter Manor is still unplottable and the wards are strong. The house elves there are feeding off the magic that the wards provide, so while they are slowly weakening, your presence once there, along with Harry's will easily strengthen it. So Potter manor should still be clean and habitable."
James looks at him and smiles, "Good, thank you my friend. Now, I am going to withdraw some galleons. May your enemies cower before you and your axe stained with their blood." James reaches forward and offers his hand to shake
Bloodsung stands up with a smile, "May your gold flow everlasting." He reaches forward and shakes James Potter's hand. Many Goblins consider it to be dishonor for Wizards to touch them, however, James Potter has proven both a Wizard worthy of respect and a man of honor.
With that James goes to make a Withdrawal from the Potter vault and begin to leave only to see Dumbledore as he steps outside of the bank, "You!" He feels anger at the sight of him. Right now, he is fighting the urge to reach for his wand to cut Dumbledore's beard off before shoving it down his throat and then cursing his fancy robes the color black and make him unable to change them back
Albus looks at him, his eye twinkle and he realize that he is indeed James thanks to a passive Legilimency scan, "James, my boy, it is so good to see you alive and well."
James frowns, "Cut the dung Albus and stay out of my head. I am going to get myself some new robes, go to Potter manor to take a shower, and then go to Privet Drive to pick up my son and take him home. You want to do something for me. Use your political power to help stop Fudge from dragging his heels and get Sirius out of Azkaban and get him a trial." He takes a breath to draw in his anger, the urge to grab his wand, or worse punch Dumbledore in the face
Albus looks at him, "About that James, Harry has been with his relatives for a long time, don't you think that perhaps he should remain there while you slowly intergate yourself back into his life?" He asks, trying to phrase the question for Harry's benefit. However, the truth is that he needs Harry to stay at the Dursley in order to keep the wards charge for his 'protection' Despite the fact that the wards at Potter Manor are perfectly capable of protecting Harry. He doesn't want Harry as part of the Wizarding World yet, not for the fame to go to his head, or let him be raised by James Potter of all people.
James feels anger, "I don't care how powerful you are or that you are the so-called leader of light. If you ever imply that I cannot have my son again, I'll bloody well kill you. Do you understand me Dumbledore? Never, and I mean never, underestimate a father's love for his child. It is second only to that of the mothers. Now get the hell out of my way and stay away from Harry. Your involvement in his life will be as the school headmaster when he goes to Hogwarts and nothing else. Now good day Professor." He walks off without another word.
