A/N 1: This chapter picks up where we left off in chapter six, but also has some time jumps as well, going from New Year's Day to the first day back from the holiday break to Valentine's Day. As usual, the major jumps are broken up by multiple lines instead of just one. And the length is nowhere near as long as the last two chapters were. Enough of my rambling and on to the story!

Ch. 7: Heart Attack

After kissing Sam the second time for a few moments, Quinn pushes back from him and quickly tries to escape the now spinning room. Sam starts to go follow her, but Santana puts her hand out against his chest. "Back off," she says. "I'll go."

"I'm the one who kissed her though," Sam says slowly.

"And look what happened. She ran out," Santana retorts back before pushing her way through the group of couples celebrating the beginning of the New Year. By the time Santana makes her way to the stairs, Quinn is nowhere to be found. Santana searches the first floor as best as she can before she heads upstairs to check through the different bedrooms, but all she finds are more people in varying stages of sex.

Santana heads back downstairs, running into Rachel when she does so. "She knows," is the first thing that Rachel says. Santana goes to ask what Rachel is talking about, but Rachel cuts her off, continuing with her statement. "She knows that I kissed you. I'm sorry. It just came out. I was talking about how I want Brittany and I let it slip that I couldn't stop thinking of the kiss with you. I didn't get to finish though that the reason I couldn't stop thinking about the kiss with you was because I felt guilty about kissing you those two times and didn't know how Brittany would react to me kissing her best friend. And now she doesn't know that and I feel even worse."

"She's not here. I checked the whole place. She left after her New Year's Eve kiss with Sam. I thought it had something to do with that. But, now what you just told me changes things," Santana says with a sigh as she rubs the bridge of her nose, a habit she does whenever she's stressed and trying to think. "Do you think she went home?"

"I can try texting and calling her, but I'm not sure she'll answer me. Maybe you should try too?" Rachel suggests. So both Rachel and Santana take turns trying to call Quinn over the next half hour, neither making any progress.

Awhile later Puck, Brittany and Joss find Santana and Rachel both still on their phones, trying to get ahold of Quinn. "What are you guys doing? This is a party! You're supposed to be having fun," Brittany chides them.

"We're trying to get ahold of Quinn since she left right after he kiss with Sam, but she won't answer us and we're worried," Santana tells them.

"Oh. Quinn sent me a text about an hour ago, saying that the baby was kicking a lot and making her tired, so Frannie came and picked her up. She's probably just asleep," Brittany tells them before looping an arm around both girls. "So turn those frowns upside down and let's continue to party bitches!" Santana and Rachel look at each other and shrug, figuring that Quinn must be asleep since she wasn't answering and that meant continuing to party doesn't sound like such a bad idea, so they let Brittany lead them both downstairs to party, with Joss and Puck bringing up the rear.

On the first day back from winter vacation, Santana sees Quinn across the hallway and excuses herself from the conversation she was having so she could go talk to the blonde who had been dodging her since the New Year's Eve party. "Q!" Santana calls out when she gets closer to her. Quinn visibly stiffens before turning around and giving Santana an unreadable stare.

Santana pushes aside the nagging feeling inside her gut telling her that something is up and instead tries to engage Quinn in conversation so she figures she should start with something easy. "How've you been since New Year's Eve? Been busy with things for the little guppy?" she asks.

Quinn shrugs noncommittally. "Yeah, I've been busy." Quinn looks down at her watch and then around the hallway, hoping to find a way to get away from Santana.

Santana, with a sinking sensation going on in her stomach, doesn't really know what to say. She inwardly thinks to herself that with anyone else she can be cool, calm and collected, not caring how they interacted with her, but with Quinn, all bets are off. "Oh, okay. I've missed hanging out with you and the little one. Let me know when you're free then if you want to hang out. I still have a few more songs that I can rap to the baby…" Santana trails off, hoping that Quinn will accept her silent plea for an invitation to hang out and make plans with the Latina.

The bell rings, signifying that the students have two minutes before class starts. Quinn breathes a sigh of relief, knowing that she can get away from Santana now since she was heading to French and Santana took Spanish. "Okay, I'll keep that in mind," Quinn tells Santana. "I've got to head to class now, so I'll talk to you later, Santana," Quinn says politely before leaving.

"Okay," the Latina says to Quinn's hastily retreating form, still wandering why Quinn's acting so weird, thinking that maybe her leaving the New Year's Eve party didn't have anything to do with the baby kicking.

"And for our last announcement of the day, don't forget that the senior class is selling Valentine's Day-grams Monday through Thursday this week and will be helping Cupid pass them out on Friday during homeroom. Send them to your friends or someone special. Proceeds will go to the senior class' prom fund."

Santana turn around in her seat towards Puck after the end of the announcement, pointing her finger towards the speaker. "How much do you want to bet that the "senior class" members who will be passing those 'grams out will include us?"

Puck shrugs, saying, "Why would we have to do that? We're seniors. Shouldn't the freshman do it like they usually do?"

"Because Berry is such a control freak that she wouldn't trust anyone else but us to do it," Santana retorts.

"Maybe she won't have us do it at all?" Puck asks hopefully. "You never know. Maybe all she needs is a good lay and she'll be less psychotic," Puck chuckles.

Santana rolls her eyes. "You're incorrigible. But, if she asks, I'm putting my foot down. There's only so much I can do to help her out without going crazy!"

"Hi Santana! Hi Noah! May I talk to you for a moment?" Rachel asks later on when she sees Santana and Puck heading towards the weight room.

"I told you," Santana mutters under her breath to Puck before acknowledging Rachel with a nod to continue.

"I was wandering if you two could help pass out the Valentine's Day-rams on Friday. I have some other people helping too, but I thought it would be nice to have a representative from each club and you two are my last representatives that I need. So, what do you say?"

"Sure," Puck says. "Count us in. Santana glares at Puck while Rachel thanks them both before turning around to leave.

"Oh, and before I forget, you have to wear togas to look like cupids. Thanks so much again for helping!" Rachel says as she flits away.

Santana turns towards Puck and pokes a pointy fingernail into his chest. "Great. Look what you've gotten us into. Be happy that I can't have murder on my permanent records because of Stanford and the full ride or else you'd be so dead right now." Puck just laughs and leads Santana into the weight room to go blow off some steam before she really did any damage to him.

Friday comes quickly, much to Santana's dismay. Though it's one more day until the weekend, she's no looking forward to passing out the 'grams, not only because of the ridiculous toga she has to wear – which is somehow even shorter than the Cheerios outfit Rachel has her wearing in Rachel's NYADA application piece – but also because she got stuck with having to deliver the Valentine's Day-grams to Quinn's homeroom. Normally, Santana wouldn't mind being around Quinn, but ever since she came home to a box with her things in it from their friendship, Santana just feels sadness whenever she looks at Quinn. And to make matters worse, Sam is in the same homeroom as Quinn, and from what she's heard from Brittany and some other people, Sam keeps trying to go out with Quinn. The only plus o it all is that Quinn has turned him down every time.

Santana scans the envelopes in her hands, reading the names of the recipients one more time before heading inside the classroom. "Cupid Grams!" Santana says as she enters the classroom. "I've got two for you. And two for you. Three for you. And – whoa. Seven for you. You go playa!" she says as she flits around the room, drawing character from the movie Mean Girls, before reaching Quinn's set of cards. "And, uh, here's yours," Santana spits out before hastily dropping Quinn's cards on her desk before she leaves the classroom as quickly as possible.

Quinn looks down at the cards in front of her. She figures one might be from Sam, especially with the way he's staring at her expectedly to open up the cards. So Quinn decides against opening any of them now, figuring that she can just open them up when she's alone in her room, better able to process things in solitude. As Sam goes to open his mouth, the bell rings, causing chairs to scrape against the linoleum flooring, effectively drowning out whatever he was going to say.

By the end of the day, Quinn's exhausted, and paler than usual, which Judy notices as soon as Quinn walks in the door. "Quinnie, are you okay dear?" Judy asks with concern evident in her voice.

Quinn groans a bit as she tries to lower herself to the couch. "Yeah, I'm okay. I think." Judy stares at Quinn, waiting for her to continue, like she knows there's something Quinn's not telling her. "Really, Mom, I – argh – I'm fi—" Quinn gets out before she's overcome with intense pain. After a moment, then feeling passes, so Quinn tried to plaster on a reassuring face so Judy will stop looking so anxious.

As Quinn goes to readjust herself on the couch to get comfy, she feels a release of pressure and then wetness running down her thighs. Quinn looks down and then back up to Judy, who was waiting for Quinn to get comfortable before she went to get her daughter some tea and a heating pad. "Mom?" Quinn says in a small voice. "I think my water just broke."

A/N 2: I told you this was going to be a short chapter! But, that's because the next two will be long chapters again because I will be going over the next ten years so we can finally get past this part of the story and to what the summary was actually about. Just a heads up, in the next two chapters (or more if I need to cut them into half), the story will be from one person's POV instead of a third person POV. I'll let you know whose POV it is in the author's note before you start reading it. Unless you rather find out while reading the chapter as to whose POV it is? Which do you guys prefer?

Okay, now before I get into the reviews and replying back to what each person said individually, I would just like to state one thing: I'm all for you guys having an opinion on my story; I write this for your entertainment as well as mine. But, with that being said, I don't want to hear someone say how they want to kill someone just because they don't like what that person did in the chapter. If you feel strongly against it, that's fine, but please express yourself without resorting to saying that you want to kill them. That might make me sound preachy and bitchy and whatnot, but there's enough violence and hatred out there in the world without us needing to add to it like that. Thank you for listening and understanding, and please, feel free to leave reviews – just not of saying you want to kill someone; those I will not tolerate. Now, on to the reviews!

Aryalyn: I do agree with you that it sucks that Quinn isn't getting any action. That being said, they're only in high school and she's pregnant, so the last thing on her mind is to pursue someone at this time – even though she does flirt with and likes Santana. Don't worry, Quinn won't always be alone!

Guest 1: Santana is too wrapped up in her own head to see what's right in front of her. Especially when what's right in front of her is her best friend's pregnant baby momma who, as far as she knows, is 100% straight. So, she goes with Joss because Joss is easy. And yes, it was low of Rachel to do many of the things she's done.

Dazed: Leave you with Quinn and Sam kissing as the clock struck midnight? Lol sorry :P but, you are welcomed for the updates. I totally get you on the hectic daily life, so that's why my chapters seem to not be coming out as much, both on here and my oneshots. Good news though: I have started outlining chapter 8 already. So hopefully I can get it out faster than I did this chapter.

Guest 2: Santana likes Quinn, but like I said to Guest 1, she's in unchartered territory here. And Santana's physically attracted to Rachel, yes, but not emotionally, which is why she wouldn't have done anything with her even if she didn't have plans already with Joss. With Joss, Santana knows that there aren't any strings attached. But with Rachel, she knows that Rachel would want more than just friends with benefits and Santana subconsciously can't do that with her. And I agree. Another OC might be added to the mix at some point for Quinn.

Guy: It's high school. There's drama. They're young and don't know how to express themselves properly. There are so many different reasons I can give, but yea, you're right. But, this isn't when Quintana happens; these past seven chapters were really just an overly long preamble into what the actual story is supposed to be about.

Anon: Sometimes I have no rhyme or reason for what I add to my stories. And, this time, there was none really. I just wanted to give a glimpse into what was given as a gift and what happened when Quinn called. As for Rachel pursuing Santana twice, yes, that was a bitch move. And Quinn will eventually find someone post baby.

Guest 3: Because he was there. You're entitled to your opinion about Sam, but he worked perfectly in my story at that time. As for calling him a slut, saying that he needs to die, and that you'll kill him yourself, I implore that you read what I wrote before I started to answer the reviews.

AngieMG: lol yes, and the wait for the "jump" is quickly coming to an end. Though there will continue to be angst. So break out the 1800 rosado! And well, Santana was both shocked and intrigued to say the least, hence why she stayed watching...i guess just like with the tootsie roll lollipop and how many licks it takes to get to the center, the world may never know ha…good point. and I think Joss might do that eventually, but not just yet…right?! Like I'm exhausted just writing about them! Lol…after this chapter, I feel you will dislike him even more…whelp, you're the closest person to guessing how many pages this was (though it was 10 handwritten), so you get to pick the next oneshot I write. You can pm me the prompt whenever you want. Congrats!

Guest 4: lol it's in the past, no changes now. And as for Sam, after this chapter, there shouldn't be any more of him in the story. Better now? Lol I hope that that you read this chapter and see that it's not the same as other stories you've read. This is a Quintana endgame story; we just haven't gotten to the end yet. But, if you decide to no longer read the story because you feel like Quintana getting together will be rushed, then I'm sorry. Hopefully you'll stumble across this one day and see that that wasn't the case.

Guest 5: you can certainly think Sam is a douchebag. But, in reference to you killing him in the next chapter, please see my above comment before the reviews.

Edrop7: thank you! This is definitely a slow burn story. Don't get me wrong, I love a good smutty Quintana story, but I definitely like this a whole lot more because of how much I get to explore the characters. Just thank you for your whole comment.

Wree: it'll eventually happen, I promise! And yes, she was being a shitty friend to both Quinn and Santana. And don't worry, after this chapter, there shouldn't be any Sam in the story. At least nothing major.

Silent12reader: yup, this is a slow burn. But no having to drag on with Quinn and Sam for two chapters. Interesting though, I think you're the only person who has said that they'd like to see some pezberry action in the story. And nope, Santana isn't emotionally connected to Joss, but she knows that Rachel would jump into something both physically and emotionally. At least that's what she thinks of high school Rachel.

ThereIsOnlyOneFancypants: nope, things are not. But, eventually they will go well for them. Not sure when, but they will eventually. Does that make it any better for you?

Okay everyone! I hope that you guys liked this chapter even though it was shorter than the last two chapters that I posted. I know it was short, but I needed somewhere to end and this seemed like the perfect place to split their viewpoints into two. So, remember that the next chapter will be from one of the girls POV, covering from where I just ended the chapter to ten years in the future, which is where the actual story is supposed to take place.

Until next time my lovelies! – xxs
