Sorry this chapter is so short, Assignment Week T-T
But the chapters will be longer I promise!
Gray flicked his foot up and down, completely bored. Gajeel and Lily were exploring the city, Happy went back to the school for an update. Natsu was being annoying with his sneezes every five seconds, and Gray had to put out fires 20 times already.
"I'm back with the medicine!"
"Lucy finally! Flame brain almost burnt the apartment multiple times!"
"Hence, why I left." Lucy gave a curtsey and opened the box of tablets. She swiftly grabbed a cup and filled it to the brim with refreshing water. "Still can't summon Aquarius huh?"
"Even if I could, she'd flood the whole building."
"I guess…"
"Here you are Natsu."
Natsu sat up and took the medicine with the flash of a hand and guzzled that water down like Cana grabbing a fresh one. "Ah I'm starting to feel better. Thanks Loco…"
"Seriously you got my name wrong again after all these years?! And did you just call me 'crazy' in Spanish?! Hey don't sleep yet I'm not done with you!"
Gray drew his eyes away from the one sided fight and dazed out the window, Lucy vainly yelling at the sick, knocked out mage. "Lucy, let him be, he's sick after all." Lucy puffed her cheeks in slight annoyance and released it all with a sigh. She dragged a chair next to her icy companion and sat by the window, watching the clouds.
Rain pitter pattered on the glass. Dark clouds hovering over the city, just like yesterday. And the day before. "England must be sad again…" Lucy muttered to herself. "Why? England's a productive country, doing very well in a world without magic. Or for muggles."
"But if you read the history, it's quite sad… often picked on by invaders, then became one of the most powerful empires, then the World Wars happened, and England dwindled to just another country. All alone."
Gray just blinked at all the terms. He always fell asleep at some point during Muggle Studies, so some things he picked up, some he didn't.
"Hey Gray, do you think we should tell them?"
Gray nearly fell out of his chair when Lucy blurted the question out. "What?! Are you crazy?! You know we can't! At least not now."
"Gray."
Gray stood silent, Lucy looking to the ground. "You know we can't keep this a secret for long. Dumbledore said so himself that they'll find out eventually. We're already fighting something bigger. We don't need another ally turned against us because we kept this for so long."
Gray gave an exasperated sigh, and rubbed the back of his head. "Well I guess there's sense in that. If someone does find out, we'll bring it up with the others and see what they think." Lucy nodded in agreement, both turning back to the pitter-patter of rain.
"Hm? What's that?"
Gray squinted at the spot getting bigger every second. They both stood up, inching closer to the window. The spot took into the shape of an owl flying with a cream coloured object in its beak. "A letter for us?" Lucy guessed, opening the window for the owl.
"I wonder from who…" Gray muttered, stepping away from the window slightly. The owl flew through the window, aiming from the table in the kitchen. But crashed into the cupboards instead. Gray and Lucy jumped back with a yelp. The owl hopped up with no problem, shaking off its crash and hopped up on the table.
"Ron…"
Gray and Lucy shook their heads and rolled their eyes playfully, Gray taking the letter out of the beak and gave Errol a gentle stroke, before the owl flew off. "So what did Ron want?" Lucy peaked over Gray's shoulder with interest. "It's for flame brain over there. Hey, Natsu!"
"Huh?" Natsu groaned, sitting up with a rub of his eyes. Lucy almost tore into him for waking up with a simple 'hey', while her yelling did nothing, but she held her tongue. "You got a letter." Gray slapped the letter down into her lap, Natsu taking the letter in his hands.
"Who from?"
"Ron."
"Really? I wonder if everything's ok…"
Natsu ripped the letter open, skimming through the letter. His face turned into a grin, looking at his friends. "So what did Ron want?" Lucy asked, taking a seat next to Natsu. Said boy flipped the letter over for the others to read.
"Just an invite to the World Quidditch Cup!"
